Indian Medicinal Plants for the Management of Endometriosis: A Comprehensive Review on their phytopharmacology 治疗子宫内膜异位症的印度药用植物:植物药理学综述

Endometriosis is a chronic gynecological disorder characterized by the aberrant growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterus, resulting in severe pain and infertility. Conventional treatments often come with limitations and side effects, prompting a quest for alternative therapies. Medicinal plants, integral to traditional medicine systems, have emerged as potential solutions. This review delves into the phytopharmacology and chemistry of medicinal plants employed in endometriosis treatment. An exhaustive search revealed pertinent studies concerning medicinal plant use in endometriosis treatment. These studies were scrutinized for their phytopharmacological attributes and active chemical constituents. Numerous medicinal plants exhibited anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antioxidant, immunomodulatory, and hormone-regulating properties, pivotal in endometriosis management. Mechanisms encompassed the suppression of inflammatory mediators, modulation of estrogen signaling, mitigation of oxidative stress, and enhancement of immune function. Furthermore, key chemical constituents responsible for these effects were pinpointed and classified into classes such as flavonoids, terpenoids, alkaloids, and phenolic compounds. These bioactive agents elicited their actions via diverse molecular targets, including cyclooxygenase enzymes, estrogen receptors, nuclear factor-kappa B, and reactive oxygen species. The findings underscore the potential of medicinal plants as adjunct therapies for endometriosis. Nonetheless, additional preclinical and clinical investigations are imperative to substantiate their efficacy, safety, and optimal dosing. Grasping the phytopharmacology and chemistry of medicinal plants in endometriosis treatment lays the groundwork for novel therapeutic agent development, spotlighting the capacity of natural products to combat this intricate gynecological ailment.

Pharmacognostic, characterization, physio-chemical scrutinizes, and biological attributes of Goniothalamus wightii Goniothalamus wightii 的药理、特征、理化检查和生物属性

To evaluate the quality control parameters of Goniothalamus wightii leaves, which are used for traditional medicine. The leaves extracts were characterized and to evaluate the phytochemical composition, antibacterial, antibiofilm and antioxidant activities. The macroscopic studies of the leaves are simply arranged, green color and dicot plant. The physico-chemical values are the presence of foreign matter, loss on drying, moisture and tannin content, no swelling and foaming capacity. Total ash, acid-insoluble ash, water soluble ash, and sulphated ash are the ash values; extractive values are examined in various organic solvents with visualized UV to exhibit various color variations. The proximate compositions were fiber, soluble and insoluble fiber, carbohydrates, and lipid content presence at g/100g. The quantitative phytoconstituents presence of hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol extracts such as were resolved in sequential extraction with hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, and methanol bands were separated. The FT-IR spectrum resembles the aliphatic and aromatic amines, and the LC-MS were identified by phenolic and flavonoids derivatives, steroids, lignin’s. The compounds based the antioxidant activities were 50-80% inhibition against the free radicals and antibacterial, antibiofilm activities were strongly killed the pathogens (E. coli, E. faecalis). In concluded that the pharmacognostic standardization is the first report in these species. The extracts of G. wightiii have potential antioxidant, antibacterial and antibiofilm effects, which could lead to pharmaceutical and industrial applications.

The human body synthesizes the provitamin coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), which plays a crucial role in the electron transport chain by ensuring a consistent and sufficient energy supply. CoQ10 exhibits multiple cellular roles, including its involvement in mitochondrial function, numerous cellular compartments, and plasma lipoproteins. Furthermore, CoQ10 plays a crucial role as an important antioxidant. The chemical composition of CoQ10 exhibits a strong correlation with vitamin K. It consists of a benzoquinone ring serving as the head group, accompanied by a tail made of ten isoprene units. A lack of CoQ10 has been identified as a fundamental factor contributing to numerous age-related and chronic illness problems. The efficacy of CoQ10 in various medical conditions has been proved by empirical evidence. Numerous research trials are now investigating the therapeutic and nutritional potential of CoQ10. CoQ10 continues to be predominantly utilized in the realm of cardiac research and reproductive treatments. However, there has been a notable surge of interest in exploring novel applications, notably in the context of topical administration.

Phytodiversity and sustainable Management status of Reforested Sites of the Soudano-Sahelian Zone of Cameroon 喀麦隆苏达诺-萨赫勒地区重新造林地的植物多样性和可持续管理状况

A study was carried out on the phytodiversity and the sustainable management situation of reforested sites in order to ameliorate the living conditions of the local population of three villages (Kilguim, Going I and Going II) of Kaélé in the Mayo-Kani division. The semi-structured and structured maintenance beside the 200 persons and the registration of the vegetation was done in three villages. Findings revealed higher bushfires practice in sites. Data analysis proved that the practice of bushfires in forbidden or restricted sites (83.50 ± 16.01), the lack of plausibility studies of reforestation projects associating local populations (78.50 ± 13.99), insufficiency of bore holes for constant water supply for the follow up of the reforestation (76.00 ± 19.10), lack of specialized structures in the reforestation domain (72.83 ± 13.03), the insufficiency of sensitization on the importance of reforestation (71.67 ± 27.55) and the cutting of wood (68.00 ± 12.17) are real problems that the reforestation sites faces. The confiscation of land for reforestation without any alternative measure taken for the assurance of alimentary security and firewood of the population is the major cause of the dissatisfaction of the riverine population. The death rate is pretty elevated in the Kilguim site (15%) because of the lack of maintenance in reforested sites. The Shannon index is very high in the Going I site (2.71bits) because it is less perturbed by anthropic activities. Vegetation presents a structure in the form of a bell or cloche in prohibited sites translate a heterogeneity of the milieu because of anthropic perturbations. The durable management plan was opted for the management of reforestation sites.

A comprehensive network pharmacology study of Nelumbinis semen (Lotus Seeds) phytochemicals for Atherosclerosis and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus 莲子植物化学物质治疗动脉粥样硬化和 2 型糖尿病的综合网络药理学研究

Cardiovascular death remains the top causes of death, and one of the main risk factors associated with cardiovascular diseases are Atherosclerosis and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. The associated conspiracy was high because of the failure of the complete regulatory network rather than a single gene or protein malfunction, so one-target one drug fails for complete eradication of the disease. Natural compounds had the potency to act upon various targets to elucidate complete therapeutic effects. In traditional medicines, Nelumbinis semen or lotus seeds were used in treating multiple diseases and as a functional food. In the world of drug discovery, the idea of creating multi-target medications against complicated conditions is gaining momentum. To understand the mechanism emphasized by the therapeutic effect of Nelumbinis semen or lotus seeds, which act upon various targets and elucidate cumulative activity in Atherosclerosis and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. The bioactive components and their targets were obtained, and common targets associated with atherosclerosis and type 2 diabetes mellitus were taken. The network was constructed using Cytoscape 3.9.1 software. The protein-protein interaction was analysed using the STRING database. Gene and pathway enrichment was performed using ShinyGo 0.77 software. The pathway associated with the diseases and no of genes involved were studied. The active compounds of the lotus seed are Myricetin, Quercetin, Isofucosterol, Rhamnetin, Myristic acid, etc. The main and active targets for lotus seeds were PPARα, INSR, HMGCR and NCp1L1. The key biological pathways by which the compound elucidates therapeutic effects are Diabetic cardiomyopathy and Terpenoid backbone biosynthesis.

The associated conspiracy was high because of the failure of the complete regulatory network rather than a single gene or protein malfunction, so one-target one drug fails for complete eradication of the disease. Natural compounds had the potency to act upon various targets to elucidate complete therapeutic effects. In traditional medicines, Nelumbinis semen or lotus seeds were used in treating multiple diseases and as a functional food. In the world of drug discovery, the idea of creating multi-target medications against complicated conditions is gaining momentum. To understand the mechanism emphasized by the therapeutic effect of Nelumbinis semen or lotus seeds, which act upon various targets and elucidate cumulative activity in Atherosclerosis and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. The bioactive components and their targets were obtained, and common targets associated with atherosclerosis and type 2 diabetes mellitus were taken. The network was constructed using Cytoscape 3.9.1 software. The protein-protein interaction was analysed using the STRING database. Gene and pathway enrichment was performed using ShinyGo 0.77 software. The pathway associated with the diseases and no of genes involved were studied. The active compounds of the lotus seed are Myricetin, Quercetin, Isofucosterol, Rhamnetin, Myristic acid, etc. The main and active targets for lotus seeds were PPARα, INSR, HMGCR and NCp1L1. Wuhan, China reported a novel coronavirus-related sickness in late 2019, which quickly spread into a global epidemic. One crucial factor in combating the coronavirus infection appears to be the presence of a robust, long-lasting, and active immune system. The immune response is affected by several factors, including food. Nutritional insufficiency can cause immune deficits, making infections more likely to cause fatality. Thus, understanding numerous behaviors, particularly dietary habits, is essential to determining their capacity to reduce severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 risks and improve prognosis. In this paper, the authors summarize the complex interaction between nutritional status and severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus 2 infections, as well as the consequences of poor nutrients with regard of the extent to which disease is affected. The literature was compiled by searching a number of reputable scientific databases including Scopus, Science Direct, Springer, Nature, PubMed, Web of Science resources. The accumulating evidence demonstrates that malnutrition impairs the immune system's ability to function, weakening the body's infection resistance. This review emphasizes the significance of nutritional status in the care of coronavirus disease patients as well as demonstrates that functional foods may contribute to better outcomes. Ageing, Obesity, Malnutrition, Undernutrition, Lack of exercise are having a devastating effect on people's health in general and during this coronavirus disease. The severity and prognosis of coronavirus illness seem to be significantly influenced by lifestyle choices, nutritional imbalances, and impaired immune response.

Cocoa (Theobroma cacao) is a well-known tropical plant extensively cultivated for its beans, which are the primary raw material for chocolate production. This article aims to comprehensively review and analyze the bioactive compounds present in cocoa and their corresponding biological activities, highlighting their potential implications for human health. A systematic literature review was conducted to gather relevant research articles and reviews related to the bioactive compounds of cocoa and their biological activities. The databases used for the search included PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar, with keywords such as "cocoa bioactive compounds," "flavonoids," "theobromine," "antioxidant activity," and "cardiovascular health" used for data retrieval. The analysis revealed that cocoa is rich in bioactive compounds, such as flavonoids (e.g., catechins, epicatechins), methylxanthines (e.g., theobromine, caffeine), and polyphenols. These bioactive compounds have been associated with various biological activities, including potent antioxidant effects, anti-inflammatory properties, and vasodilation, which may positively influence cardiovascular health. The consumption of cocoa and its bioactive compounds may offer several health benefits due to their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and cardiovascular-protective properties. However, further research is necessary to fully understand the mechanisms of action and to determine appropriate dosage recommendations for harnessing the potential health benefits of cocoa.

One of the most important foods produced and consumed worldwide is natural honey. This substance features nice sensory qualities such as a light hue as well as a familiar scent and flavor. It also contains organic acids, sugars, minerals, enzymes, phenolic and volatile chemicals, methylglyoxal, amino acids, vitamins etcetera which have been linked to potential biological activities. All of these features make this viscous substance extremely desirable by consumers thus raising its market value. Natural honey is however prone to contamination upon improper storage so that its natural quality and authenticity can be jeopardized. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to provide updates to the literature available on the physicochemical, sensory features, content, economic value, medicinal benefits, contamination, originality, and adulteration of natural honey. With this context, we hope to provide data that can help guide future honey study.

Vitamins are essential for a healthy life. Compared to other nutrients, the body needs them in very small amounts. B vitamins, often known as the vitamin B complex, are a class of water-soluble vitamins with key functions in cellular metabolism. Thiamine (vitamin B1), riboflavin (vitamin B2), niacin (vitamin B3), pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), pyridoxine (vitamin B6), biotin (vitamin B7), folate (vitamin B9), often known as folic acid, and cobalamin (vitamin B12) are the eight distinct vitamins that collectively constitute the vitamin B complex. The body's energy levels, cognitive activity, and cell metabolism are all directly impacted by B vitamins. Four main factors contribute to vitamin B deficiency: an unbalanced diet, excessive alcohol intake, different drugs, and disorders that induce gut malabsorption. If these B vitamin deficiencies are left untreated, they can eventually cause symptoms such as peripheral neuropathy, heart attacks, strokes etc. B vitamins are present in natural, whole foods. Compared to their unprocessed counterparts, white flour and other processed carbohydrates like sugar often contain fewer B vitamins.
