Abstract: The article aims to complete a research dedicated to trace and analyse the occidentalismos (i.e., Western Dialectal Forms) of a Castilian translation of the Prophetiae Merlini by Geoffrey of Monmouth interpolated in the Merlines of the Iberian Post-Vulgate cycle (Baladro 1498 and Demanda 1535). Since the first part of this investigation was devoted to the phonetic occidentalismos, we will now focus on the morphosyntactic and lexical ones; we will discuss one example of the first group and ten from the second one. We will again pay attention both to the evident occidentalismos, those that are still openly present in the witnesses, as well as to the conjectural ones, those that can be glimpsed through their errors. We are convinced that this kind of study can make contributions of interest to a better understanding of the textual history of the Castilian Merlines. Keywords: Geoffrey of Monmouth, Prophetiae Merlini, Castilian Transla- tion, Baladro del sabio Merlín, Morphosyntactic and Lexical Occidentalismos (i.e., Western Dialectal Forms).

Abstract: Enrique de Villena (1384-1434), a nobleman keen on arts, a bilingual author in Catalan and Spanish, who lived for some years (ca. 1416- 1429) –in a sporadic way– in the Valencian court of Alfonso V of Aragon and John of Navarre, had an influence on the concept of literature to the author of the chivalric novel Curial e Güelfa (Enyego d’Àvalos?), written in Catalan (Naples-Milan, ca. 1445-1448) and which could be related with the Italian court of the Magnanimous. The Curial displays intertextual connections with Villena’s work, apart from shared hapaxes and neologisms. The author was aware of –undoubtedly– Los dotze treballs d’Hèrcules (Valencia, 1417) and parodied mythographic mistakes from the romanced, glossed and moralised Aeneid by Villena (Valencia, 1427-1429), two works that he alludes to implicitly in his own. Both writers spread the ideal of the vir scientificus Hercules (Coluccio Salutati) as an allegory of the effort the sçientíficos/scientífichs knights put on studying the Greek-Latin classics to grow up in virtue. And both seem to anticipate a «political virgilianism» which could be interpreted as the idea of embellishing literarily the historical events to perpetuate the military glory in a respectable format. Keywords: Medieval Catalan literature, Enrique de Villena, Curial e Güelfa, Enyego d’Àvalos, glossed Aeneid.

Abstract: This paper analyzes the techniques for preparing cosmetic contained in works of Spanish literature of the late Middle Ages and early Renaissance times, comparing with reality recipe collection in Castilian contemporaries. Abstract: Lancelot en Prose, an extensive romance where Lancelot’s biography is developed, is integrated into the wide cycle of Arthurian romances that was written in France during the second decade of the thirteenth century. This text testifies, as long as we are concerned, a clear exploration of the biblical potentials in medieval literature. Our analysis will focus essentially on a discursive moment that we consider to be central to the romance: the reprimand directed to Arthur by a preudome that presents himself before the king’s court. We will try to identify, through the confrontation between the referred excerpt of Lancelot en Prose and the Scripture which are the elements withheld in it and how they were treated. By this confrontation we hope to ascertain the authorial intentions in the use of the biblical source. Keywords: Lancelot en Prose, Bible, theory of kingship, Arthurian romance.

Abstract: The «real» death of the lady is not a common topic in the troubadoresque lyric poetry.
