This article explains the attitude of social groups who have been declared exposed to the Covid-19 virus and are undergoing isolation facilitated by the government for 6-10 days until they are declared cured. Because they undergo quarantine with strict controls, they leave their main obligations as family breadwinners or professional workers. In a situation that is completely restricted, they have no alternative but to accept and undergo all procedures and stages of quarantine until they are completed. The article data comes from several Covid-19 patients participating in quarantine in Banyumas district in February 2022. Using a sociological approach and religious interpretation, the attitude of accepting the quarantine situation points to two things, first, religion is present in people who experience powerlessness as a result of the dysfunction of science and technology. Second, in this situation of powerlessness, religion is present to offer solutions that are beyond reality or transcendental. From these two situations, the social groups participating in the Covid-19 quarantine gave rise to religious attitudes which in the perspective of religious interpretation are understood as the practice of the teachings of gratitude, patience, trustworthiness, prayer, wisdom, and ihtiyar.

This article discusses the involvement of Malay ulama in the production of religious books or also known as kitab kuning, especially fiqh books in the 17th century. This century, as stated by some local historians, is the beginning of the development of classical Malay books in various fields including religion. The discussion in this article is focused on two things namely the development of writing religious books, focused on fiqh books in the 17th century, while the second case reviews two sample books that have been written in the 17th century namely (1) the Sirat al-Mustaqim and (2) the Mir'ah al-Tullab fi Tashil Ma'rifah Ahkam al-Shari'ah li Mulk al-Wahhab. From the discussion of the above, it can be concluded that the activity of writing classical Malay religious works developed along with the activity of writing in other fields including the fields of Malay literature, Sufism, Malay and Islamic history, Quran and Islamic medicine.

This literary research aims to discuss the role of education in the history and development of the usage of the Jawi script in Brunei. This discussion is divided into six phases. The first phase is the use of Jawi in education after the arrival of Islam. The second phase is its use during the early development of education between 1914 and 1941. The third phase is during the Japanese occupation era from 1942 until 1945. The fourth phase is in the pre-independence era between 1943 and 1983. The fifth phase is in the Bilingual Education policy from 1984 until 2007, and the last phase is during the National Education System for the 21st Century Policy, from 2008 until today. The researcher discovered that the role and importance of Jawi in the field of education remain relevant, especially in preserving it as the heritage and identity of the Malay race.

Democracy is being pushed aggressively on a global scale as the best and final form of government without even an alternative offered to the opposing views by the champions of the system in the 21st century. The main arguments presented by the apologies of democracy is its feasibility of providing and guaranteeing freedom of speech, liberty of choosing a leadership, accountability and transparency. However, this view is being perceived with cynicism in other parts of the world particularly the Islamic world where the absolute sovereignty and laws are referred to from a divine source. Most of the contemporary Islamic scholars are not against democracy except where its principles such as man-made laws are regarded as supreme over the Shari’ah law. But, Rached Ghannouchi, a Tunisian activist and a political leader believed that there is a perfect way to synthesise between the Western liberal democracy and Islamic governance through the side line of political Islam and the full Islamisation of democracy in practice. Ghannouchi’s combination of ideology, philosophy and activism earned him a status of an Islamic democratic philosopher in the 21st century. This study critically examined the efforts made by Ghannouchi in Islamizing democracy using a rhetorical analytical approach of linking and comparing the early Islamic philosophy on democracy and Ghannouchi’s ideas to arrive at a position of policy implication for democratic governance in the Muslim world.

Viewing the cAbbasid Revolution and the Iranian Revolution from a comparative perspective is the focus of this study. The cAbbasid Revolution was the first Islamic revolution, and the Iranian Revolution is the most recent Islamic revolution, both of which occurred in Muslim societies and practically began in the same geographical area. Although more than twelve centuries separate the two revolutions, similarities exist between them. Both produced profound results, and similar lessons may be culled from them. The first revolution toppled the house of the Umayyads and established a new dynasty. The second overbalanced the House of the Pahlavis and evolved Iran from a monarchy into an Islamic republic. The political role of merchants and their cooperation with religious leaders based on mutual self-interests in both revolutions was a significant factor. Conclusions may be drawn as to when or whether there were changes to Islamic values. These changes may have led to a change in Muslims’ experiences, which can be developed, into the form of a revolution or any type of violence. Taking a comparative methodological approach, this study attempts to make a link between the Iranian Revolution and its cAbbasid past.

This book discusses the dynamics of the relationship between Islam as a religious and political teaching with democracy in the context of the effects of the Arab Spring and the subsequent events after it. The authors, who are considered to be “titans” in the field of democracy and Islam, started the book by saying “Many western observers were shocked when Arabs began open rebellions against their governments in December 2010” and this seem to point out not only the unpredictability of the uprisings, but also to the inaccuracy behind several of the most accepted assumptions about politics and governance in the Arab world. The chapters of the book discuss the experiences of political transition in general and how democratisation works in particular through the examples of seven different countries, namely Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Indonesia, Senegal, Tunisia and Egypt.

This research aimed at finding out whether or not the use of Plan-ahead Brainstorming in helping the second-year students of SMAN 1 Bantaeng to enhance their speaking skill. The steps of Plan-ahead Brainstorming in implementing consist of (1) giving the topic, (2) plan-ahead session, (3) brainstorming in small group, (4) individual oral report. This research employed pre-experimental method. The researcher used random sampling technique and the selected sample was the students in XI IPA1 with the total 28 number of students. The instrument of this research was speaking test in the form of oral test. The data acquired were then analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistics. The result of the data analysis showed that the probability value (0.00) was smaller than the level of significance (0.05). This indicated that the implementation of Plan-ahead Brainstorming enhanced the students` speaking skill. This indicates that the alternative hypothesis (H1) accepted. This research contributed extensively the theory about plan-ahead brainstorming in enhancing students speaking ability. The plan-ahead brainstorming is the technique that can influence the students speaking fluency effectively. The outcome of the use of plan-ahead brainstorming is useful in learning English, especially students in learning speaking. The student can decrease their skepticism and stammer in plan-ahead session to prepare what they want to utter. The researcher found that this technique is useful for teachers in order that they can use this technique more effectively as long as the teacher prepare specific time to implement this technique in several time.

A receiver in an action is an impartial person appointed by the court to collect and receive, pending the proceedings, the rents, issues, and profits of land or personal estate that it does not seem reasonable to the court that either party should collect or receive, or to enable the same to be distributed among the persons entitled. The appointment of a receiver does not in any way affect the right to the property over which he is appointed. The court takes possession of its receiver, and his possession is that of all parties to the action according to their titles. The receiver does not collect the rents and profits by virtue of any estate vested in him but by virtue of his position as an officer of the court appointed to collect property upon the title of the parties to the action. In the case of a fixed or floating charge, receivers and managers are appointed either by the court or by the debenture holders. In this article, we shall examine the legal effects of the appointment of a receiver by the court and out-of-court systems over the property of a company. This research is carried out using textual and contextual analysis.
