Comparative analyses of standards temperature rise test methods for induction machines 感应电机标准温升试验方法的比较分析

To measure induction machines temperature rise is no doubt a common demand of customers and manufacturers. The manufacturers must optimize the product to be competitive, while the user must be sure about the motor insulation class limit. The most accepted condition to measure temperature rise in induction motors is under full load. This condition is advantageous because it simulates real life operation on field. However, this requires for dynamometers and sources of same or sometimes greater power than the rated power of machine under test. Besides the coupling of high power, high speed or vertical machines can consume considerable time and investment. In these cases it is necessary to use alternative methods to measure the electrical machine temperature. In these methods the load torque applied by the dynamometer is smaller than the motor nominal torque or even no load torque is applied. In this paper we will present a comparison between the most common induction machines temperature rise methods.

Enhanced control of a PMSM supplied by a four-leg voltage source inverter using the homopolar torque 利用均极转矩增强四脚电压源逆变器提供的永磁同步电机的控制

This paper investigates an electrical drive composed of a four-leg voltage source inverter and a three-phase star-connected surface permanent magnet synchronous machine. The fourth leg of the inverter is clamped to the neutral point of the machine. We find the current references leading to smooth torque and maximum torque per ampere operation in the presence of a third harmonic electromotive force component. We further analyze the advantages of the proposed topology in terms of torque increase and dc-link voltage requirements. Design aspects are briefly discussed.

The paper describes various designs undertaken at the University of Southampton for building both cored and coreless superconducting synchronous generators using high temperature superconducting (HTS) tapes. An overview of electromagnetic and mechanical design issues is presented and scalability is considered. Results are included for the full (original) size machine and extended to a double size unit.

Identification of a 7-phase claw-pole starter-alternator for a micro-hybrid automotive application 微型混合动力汽车用七相爪极起动交流发电机的辨识

This paper deals with the identification of a new high power starter-alternator system, using both: a finite element method (FEM) modeling and an experimental vector control. The drive is composed of a synchronous 7-phase claw-pole machine supplied with a low voltage / high current voltage source inverter (VSI). This structure needs specific approaches to plan its electrical and mechanical behaviors and to identify the parameters needed for control purpose. At first, a finite element method (FEM) modeling of the machine is presented. It is used for the predetermination of the electromotive forces and of the torque. Experimental results are in good accordance with numerical results. In a second part, resistive and inductive parameters of the drive are determined by an original experimental approach that takes into account each component of the drive: the battery, the VSI and the machine.

Mechanical fault detection in an elevator by remote monitoring 电梯机械故障的远程监控检测

The elevator system is one of the most common applications of the induction motor as it is used in many buildings. The safety and reliability of an elevator system is of great importance as it carries people and its failure can result in unplanned outages making the building very uncomfortable. Usually, the ordinary inspections are not able to detect some early stage faults in the elevator system such as the ones due to the building wall fissures and movements, resulting in misalignment of the elevator guides. This paper presents a method that uses the induction motor of the elevator system as a sensor in order to detect this kind of mechanical fault.

Contactless system dedicated to colic stimulation 用于绞痛刺激的非接触式系统

Motility troubles may lead to severe injuries. The use of classical electric stimulators often causes problems due to the presence of wires. A new contactless device is proposed. It is based on a high frequency transformer, which primary winding is worn around the patient's torso and which multiple secondary windings are implanted along the colon in order to create a peristaltic wave. A specific software for air transformers design has been developed. A transformer, meeting specifications, and a specific power stage have been made. In vivo tests have been carried out, demonstrating the feasibility of the concept.

Limitation of adjustable-speed drive operation by unbalanced voltage supply 不平衡电压供电对调速驱动运行的限制

Operation of the drives may be negatively affected by non-standard conditions in the power network such as voltage unbalance, which may arise in three-phase power networks. The unbalance can be caused by a failure in the network or by unbalanced load in the vicinity of the affected drive. Unsymmetrical voltages at the input of a voltage source inverter cause pulsations in the DC-link voltage when not properly taken care of. This may result in reduced power capabilities of the drive. The paper deals with the methods to address this problem and with the limitations placed on the drive when operated from the unbalanced voltage supply.

Comparison of measured and analytically calculated stray load losses in standard cage induction machines 标准笼型感应电机杂散负载损耗的测量与分析计算比较

An analytical approach to calculate the stray load losses of cage induction machines at sinusoidal supply is compared with input-output measurements according to IEC 61972, which complies with the new standard IEC 60034-2, 4.0 ed. under preparation. The analytical approach allows the calculation of losses in the stator winding due to current displacement, due to harmonic rotor and inter-bar currents, due to tooth flux pulsations and eddy currents in the rotor surface, at any given slip, load and saturation level. Calculation and measurements are compared for 4-pole TEFC standard induction motors 1.1 kW, 11 kW, 75 kW and 110 kW.

Thermal analysis of a high energy density pre-biased choke 高能量密度预偏扼流圈的热分析

Chokes are important elements in many power electronics circuits, for example in boost converters and current source inverters. Minimizing the choke's volume and mass is desirable in many applications. The main limit of an electromagnetic design lies in its thermal performance. Accurate prediction of the temperature within a new device is therefore very desirable. This paper presents a thermal analysis of a high energy density pre-biased choke. The thermal analysis is carried out using a finite element method (FEM) and a thermal lumped parameter network. The high energy density equal to 0.49 J/kg is demonstrated as a result of improved thermal management and permanent magnet biasing. The theoretical findings for the high energy density choke are compared against a conventionally built choke and test results are obtained from a prototype choke.

Stray load losses calculation routine based on the eh-star method 基于eh-star法的杂散负载损耗计算程序

The eh-star method is a procedure proposed in the IEC 60034-2-1 standard to determine the stray load losses in three-phase induction motors. In this test, the motor is fed by an unbalanced supply, which is obtained using an electrical resistance (Reh) in parallel with two phases of the star-connected motor and a single-phase source. The purpose of this paper is to present a new calculation routine that determines the stray load losses from eh-star test data. This routine is obtained from an electrical circuit, in which the unbalanced supply results from two phases and the neutral of the generator, eliminating Reh. The results show that the proposed method presents good agreement with the conventional eh-star method.
