Knowledge Management contributes to making organizations more competitive. In the public sector, it can increase efficiency, innovate processes and improve the quality of services offered. However, consultations with databases show that there are few specialized authors in this field and the level of collaboration between them and international comparisons is low; the number of publications in Latin American journals dealing with the subject is also small and the literature contributes little to implementing Knowledge Management in public organizations. This paper aims to conduct a comparative analysis of the level of implementation and reach of Knowledge Management practices of organizational processes in city halls in a region of Brazil and in a province of Ecuador. This is a multiple case study, with a quantitative approach and, as for the objectives, it is characterized as being an exploratory research. Data collection took place through a questionnaire prepared by the Institute of Applied Economic Research. The results show that Ecuador's city halls have, on average, a higher level of implementation and reach of Knowledge Management practices associated with organizational processes than their counterparts in Brazilian. The level of implementation of these practices is low for the municipalities of the countries analyzed. The reach level is medium for Ecuador's city halls and low for the Brazilians ones. Thus, it is concluded that there is a need to create strategies in both countries to increase the level of implementation and reach of these practices.

This article sought to analyze the practices of people management aimed at the inclusion of diversity in the workforce of community higher education institutions (IESC), in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. In order to meet the objective outlined, a multiple case study in eleven IESC, characterized as a qualitative research, exploratory and descriptive in nature was carried out. Data were collected using a semi-structured questionnaire and analyzed using content analysis. The results reveal that the researched IESC recognize the importance of diversity in the work teams. In addition, according to the data obtained, the institutions seek to offer equal treatment to all people profiles, in all people management actions, which is a relevant factor to provide equal access to opportunities and development. However, it was found that people management practices with a specific focus on the inclusion of diversity are directed only at people with disabilities. This means that diversity is a relevant theme for the researched IESC and, on the other hand, it needs to be prioritized to the point of being translated into plural and expanded policies and practices, effectively implemented, in order to positively impact the confrontation of the inequalities found in that field.

The objective of the present research was to identify the knowledge management practices in micro, small and medium e-commerce companies in the clothing and accessories sector in the city of Maringa-PR. The study is exploratory and descriptive. The occurrence of knowledge management practices was analyzed through the use of a questionnaire translated and adapted from the Vietnamese thesis Nguyen (2011). Within the universe surveyed, there were twenty-nine legal entities having the profile of micro, small and medium enterprises, out of a total of thirty-one organizations in the clothing and accessories sector in activity in the municipality under investigation. Knowledge management practices were identified that, even if used at an early stage, were considered as essential for the sustainability of the companies due to the global competitive market in which they are inserted. The data collected also allowed us to observe that the following stages of the Bukowitz and Williams KM cycle are present in the companies participating in the research: the first stage (to obtain and use knowledge); the second stage (learn); the third stage (contribute); the fifth step (build and maintain). All of these stages had a strong presence level.

Technology is increasingly integrated with organizational processes and the use of technological communication tools has become commonplace in the work environment. This work was developed with the objective of identifying how the technological tools of communication can affect interpersonal and interorganizational relationships in the organizational environment. For this, a survey was conducted with the application of 406 valid questionnaires. The quantitative analysis of the data included the use of descriptive statistics, the Mann-Whitney and Jonckheere-Terpstra tests for data comparison and exploratory factor analysis. At first, it was sought to identify which communication tools are used in the organizational environment. It was found that the most used tool is WhatsApp, followed by email and telephone contact. Then, the perception of professionals regarding the use of these communication tools in the organizational environment in their relationships in the organizational environment was analyzed. It was found that these tools can influence interpersonal relationships, the performance of activities by professionals, as well as some aspects of the organization itself.

The article reports the intervention carried out in a company of information technology services. The objective was to reconfigure the business model to create value for customers and also for the company´s managing partners. We sought to reverse the downward trend in the life cycle of the company. The work, of interventionist character, follows the methodological procedures for practical and applied works proposed by Marcondes, Miguel, Franklin and Perez (2017), and focuses on proposing problem solutions and identifying opportunities. Compared to the initial scenario, which revealed inefficiency in communication processes, contract management, integration between areas, performance control and customer satisfaction, the business was improved through the adoption of a new business model. This new model considers the needs of customers and the conditions to expand the offer of value. Among the results, we highlight the awakening of managers' awareness to the demand for resources, key activities and strategic partnerships, which transformed the ability to meet market opportunities with economic and financial self-sufficiency. By sharing the description of the found solutions to deal with elements such as: the complexity related to the uncertainty surrounding the decision-making process, the need to change people's behavior, resistance to change, and communication obstacles, it is expected that it will contribute to the development of other businesses, and also to society in general, through consequent expansion of the offer of jobs and satisfaction of community needs.

Market data reveal growth in internet access and in the connectivity of people and companies. In this context, digital marketing has been incorporated into the strategies of several companies. In view of the importance of the theme, this study is a bibliometric research followed by a systematic integrative review to understand the influence of digital marketing on consumers' purchasing behavior and propose a research agenda on the theme. For this, articles published in the databases: Ebsco, Periodicos Capes, Scopus, Spell and Web of Science between the years 2000 to 2019 were evaluated. The results showed that more than 60% of the publications were made between 2016 and 2019 and that emerging themes such as “IOT”, “shared economy” and “digital sensory marketing” are emerging and need to be further explored. Cross-cultural and longitudinal studies on topics such as “digital influencers” and “on-line word of mouth marketing” were among important theoretical gaps. Cross-cultural studies are suggested to show characteristics and triggers in the use of digital word of mouth marketing, option for group purchase modality, options for companies with sustainable initiatives and involving impulse buying.

The research aims to analyze the relationship between the culture of organizational learning and the adoption of new technologies in higher education institutions - HEI. Specifically, it seeks to identify elements of organizational learning culture, how new technologies are used by professors and what strategies are used by managers in the mobilization of this process. The study was carried out in a private HEI, located in the state of Para, from May 31 to June 19, 2019. In a qualitative and quantitative approach, an exploratory research was carried out, with the professors of the research unit as subjects. In the methodological procedures, a simplified version of the instrument Dimensions of the Learning Organization Questionnaire – DLOQ-A, was used to identify the elements of learning culture. With these elements, a general learning culture index of 4.99 was obtained, on a scale of 1 to 6, which were captured by 7 dimensions, with “Opportunities for continuous learning” being the dimension with the most prominence. As a result of the use of new educational technologies, positive results were obtained as regards the interest of teachers and students, who, despite not having an ideal technological structure, make good use of the available resources. A positive relationship was observed between the dimensions of organizational learning culture and the adoption of new educational technologies by professors in the researched HEI. However, there is still a need for the HEI studied to adapt its technological structure to a more effective use of new technologies in the pedagogical practices of professors.

As a result of the use of new educational technologies, positive results were obtained as regards the interest of teachers and students, who, despite not having an ideal technological structure, make good use of the available resources. A positive relationship was observed between the dimensions of organizational learning culture and the adoption of new educational technologies by professors in the researched HEI. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of implementing the lean six sigma on organizational performance with the strategic knowledge management as mediating variable in private hospitals in Tehran- Iran. The research method was based on purpose of applied research and in terms of data collection and the analysis method was survey-correlation. The statistical population of this study were 51 private hospitals in Tehran. Questionnaires were used for data collection. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze the data. The results showed that the implementation of the lean six sigma does not have a positive and significant effect on organizational performance; however, it is effective on the strategic knowledge management. On the other hand, strategic knowledge management has a positive and significant effect on organizational performance. Moreover, the implementation of the lean six sigma has a positive effect on the organizational performance through the mediating variable of strategic knowledge management. The research findings can be used to improve the Organizational Performance of Medical centers and private hospitals through the implementation of Lean Six Sigma.
