Investigating pan-Romance prepositional adverbials 探究泛罗曼语介词状语

Abstract Complex adverbials built with the pattern ‘Preposition + Adjective (PA)’ such as Portuguese em especial ‘especially’ or Romanian de sigur ‘for sure’ display a remarkable frequency and pan-Romance consistency. Nevertheless, this pattern has been largely neglected by research. The ‘Third Way’ project intends to fill this gap, arguing that PAs are a relevant third way of constructing adverbials, aside with short adverbs and adverbs in - mente . It subjects prepositional adverbials to a historico-varietal analysis in a comparative pan-Romance approach to trace their trajectory from Latin up to now. This article presents an enquiry design for field research that allows examining the adverbials’ current usage and ongoing change in substandard varieties of all major Romance languages. The results are meant to help reconstruct the diachrony of PAs in Romance, especially in view of the spoken vernacular tradition.

Linee di tendenza aggiornate della formazione di parola dell’italiano contemporaneo 现代意大利语语音形成的最新趋势

Astratta L’articolo delinea un profilo della formazione di parola dell’italiano a partire dai primi anni Duemila, sulla base di un repertorio di neoformazioni attestate negli ultimi due decenni. L’analisi conferma alcune tendenze già identificate da studi precedenti, tra cui la preminenza della derivazione come strategia più frequentemente adoperata dai parlanti e la significativa produttività della composizione con un elemento formativo (più frequentemente a sinistra) e una parola autonoma. D’altra parte, i dati raccolti e analizzati suggeriscono alcuni aspetti innovativi verso cui orientare la ricerca futura, tra cui la formazione e la possibile grammaticalizzazione degli elementi formativi e l’impiego di elementi non italiani nella creazione di nuove parole strutturalmente ibride.

Le jeu libertin auquel s’adonnent les protagonistes des Liaisons dangereuses se fonde sur un pari, qui est un jeu de hasard. Toute l’action du roman tourne autour de la question de savoir si le vicomte de Valmont arrive à séduire la pieuse Mme de Tourvel ou non. Par leur pari à ce sujet, Valmont aussi bien que la marquise de Merteuil se trouvent dans une situation contradictoire. En tant que libertins, leur projet commun est d’éradiquer tout hasard. En pariant, ils se livrent, au contraire, au hasard, dont ils confirment par là l’importance, voire l’incontournabilité. Le présent article vise à analyser le caractère contradictoire du projet libertin dans ce roman épistolaire célèbre, qui n’est pas seulement, comme on l’a dit, un chant de cygne de l’aristocratie à l’aube de la Révolution française, mais qui implique également une critique de l’enthousiasme pour la raison et le calcul à l’âge des Lumières.

This conversation analytic study aims to describe the actions performed by speakers of Italian and Trevigiano – a northern Italian dialect – by using the particle dai in everyday conversations. Our analyses draw on a corpus of formal and informal phone calls, where dai appears as preface and at the end of turns that initiate new courses of action, at the end of some responsive turns (or Turn-Constructional Units) and in post-expansions (that is, turns in third position). The actions embodied by these turns – requests, proposals and assessments – have in common the momentary deontic imbalance in favor of the speaker, who tells, asks or proposes to the coparticipant to do something. The particle also accompanies assessments of events to which the speaker has no direct experience (thus from an epistemically subordinate position). This study highlights the fuzziness of the boundaries between deontic and epistemic rights in everyday talk.

This article shows the relevance of “engaged” or “committed” literature for “post-colonial” African writers in the two collections of short stories called Dernières nouvelles. Through the analysis of narrative utterance, we argue that their position reflects the African fight against colonialism and neo-colonialism. The writers execute a kind of continuum by claiming a literary tradition inherited from the founders of the Negritude movement. However, inspired by the modern context, the writers distance themselves from the radical and racial engagement of their predecessors. This difference can be observed in the use of various literary means, such as on the pretext, “silent cry” and the oxymoron. The article finally argues that there is a contradiction between the criticism of neo-colonial practices and the writers’ collaboration with French publishing houses and different cultural associations.

Les œuvres d’Édouard Levé sont encadrées par un dispositif de lecture qui nous permet de les situer en rapport avec la biographie de l’auteur, de dégager les principaux traits de sa poétique, de formuler des hypothèses génétiques. Ses travaux se révèlent ainsi d’une grande cohérence, comme autant de variations sur une série de gestes et de questionnements à la fois très simples et très radicaux.En s’inspirant largement du Procédé de Raymond Roussel Levé a fondé une partie de son œuvre sur une poétique des décalages consistant à brouiller les rapports des mots aux images. Cette poétique est mise en œuvre dans trois séries Homonymes, Angoisse et Amérique, produites par une même contrainte linguistique et des protocoles de réalisation semblables, mais chacune répond à des attitudes et des effets différents de ces contraintes et de ces protocoles. Il s’agit dans Angoisse de créer une fiction, dans Homonymes d’interroger le panthéon culturel et dans Amérique d’offrir un négatif de l’american dream.

Alfabeto para o fim do mundo 世界末日的字母表

In this article we focus on the multimodal novel, a genre category with virtually no tradition in Portuguese literary theory and criticism. By exploring multiple strategies of plurissemiotic convergence, multimodal narratives aren’t restricted to verbal expression, as conventionally associated with literary fiction, but creatively resort to different modes and/or media, which synergistically cooperate with the printed word in the production of literary meaning. In the light of the theoretical framework laid down by the thriving field of multimodal narratology, we propose a reading of Hífen (2021), the latest novel by Portuguese writer Patrícia Portela, undoubtedly one of the contemporary novelists in whose fiction multissemiotic cross-fertilization is more blatantly explored.

Personnages écologiques en résistance dans Guérilla de Véronique Bergen veronique Bergen的《游击队》中的生态抵抗角色

Guérilla (2019), a multi-voiced novel by the French-language Belgian writer, Véronique Bergen, raises the question of the current environmental crisis. I shall look at the main characters’ ecological personality: four eco guerrilleros, a woman, a child and Gaia. Within the theoretical framework developed by Stéphanie Posthumus, which she based on Félix Guattari’s Ecosophy and three Ecologies (mental, social and environmental), I shall examine the characters’ subjectivity. Furthermore, I shall resort to the concept of resistance to which Véronique Bergen has dedicated her essay Résistances philosophiques (2009). I shall highlight the resistant stances adopted by the characters in their experimentation of subjectivity: the guerilla and the use of violence, the misuse of language, the building of new alliances with all life forms and the cosmos.

Archives numériques et mémoire culturelle aux Caraïbes 加勒比地区的数字档案和文化记忆

The question of cultural memory is particularly complex in the case of the Caribbean due to its fragmented history, which has led to great cultural diversity. Created within and outside the Caribbean during the last twenty years, structured online archives have taken up the issue of dispersed memories by taking an inventory of a multiplicity of objects which testify to the diverse past of Caribbean societies. Taking Glissant’s concept of Relation as a starting point, I analyze in this article to what extent these archives contribute to the constitution of a cultural memory in terms of contents, structure as well as possibilities of participation, considering the complexity of historical and social threads woven together within and between the Caribbean territories. To address this question, I will draw on two online archives specializing in the Caribbean: The Caribbean Memory Project and the digital library MANIOC.
