This study aims to investigate how the awareness, motivation, and capacity of local organizations affect vertical FDI spillovers in the Turkish automotive industry within the framework of institutional theory. A multiple case study method was used in this study, in which interviews, observations, and documents of seven local supplier organizations were subjected to content analysis. The findings show that the expectations of multinational companies for efficiency in buyer-supplier relationships have limited the awareness, motivation and capacity of local suppliers for internationalization and innovation. This situation prevents local organizations, especially those located at the lower rungs of the supply chain, from capturing the positive effects of vertical FDI spillovers.

The objective of this study is to analyze the tourist patients admitted to Arnavutköy State Hospital for one year. This hospital is the closest hospital to Istanbul Airport and is one of Turkey's largest transportation hubs. An observational, descriptive, and retrospective case study design was used for this study. Study participants were foreign nationals who applied to Arnavutköy State Hospital without a Republic of Turkey Identity Card. In terms of patient volume, emergency medicine accounted for 60.9% of patients, surgical departments for 25.8%, and medical branches accounted for 13.3%. A total of 57.7% of the income derived from these foreign patients was received from the Emergency Department (ED), 25.0% by the surgical departments, and 17.3% by the medical departments. A total of 1021 foreign patients were admitted to the ED, accounting for 57.7% of the total foreign patient revenue. The application rate for foreign patients was highest from Asian countries (n=1282, 76.5%), followed by the European continent (n=204, 12.2%). The impact of EDs in health tourism may be missed if authorities consider health tourism only as therapeutic travel.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relative comparative advantage and specialization level of Turkey’s aerospace industry under industrial clustering context. To estimate the degree of industrial specialization; Balassa (1965), Balassa-Noland (1989), Vollrath (1991), and Laursen (2015) indices were used. The results revealed that Turkey's aerospace industry has not yet reached the specialization level to create any comparative advantage. In the light of concurrent data and reports presented by the World Trade Organization (2022), Defense Industry Manufacturers Association of Turkey (2022), and Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (2022); it is seen that the industry outputs are almost entirely created by aerospace clusters’ stakeholders in Turkey. From this point of view, some policy recommendations are presented by synthesizing the research findings with the industrial cluster literature.

In the era of Anthropocene, with Dominant Social Paradigm the humankind has intruded nature with a greed to dominate and possess more. Adoption of consumer/consumption-oriented economy models caused pollution, climate change, and damage to the environment. In 1978 New Environmental Paradigm was introduced to exclaim the need for a new worldview to increase the awareness and support of mankind in favor of nature. It’s been adopted by several disciplines and used in the environmental behavior literature to assess the environmental concern/attitudes. Since attitudes shapes the behavior, and the pro-environmental behavior has a transformative power on the sustainability and the survival of the nature, its determinants were analyzed through several theories. With this study, it’s aimed to focus on New Environmental Paradigm and reveal its dominance in environmental behavior literature with a bibliometric analysis demonstrating the most productive and influential studies, authors, universities and countries to shed light for researchers.

Some researches show that employees who perceive the workplace as safe encounter fewer work accidents than those who perceive the workplace as dangerous. This result also coincides with the result that there are fewer accidents in safe workplaces. Similarly, it was stated that the anxiety and stress levels of the employees who found the workplace safe were low and that they were exposed to environmental risks arising from fewer workplaces. Climate perception is a concept for how employees perceive the safety environment in the organization. In the aviation industry, where safety is a top priority, a positive perceived safety climate is of great importance. The current research aimed to investigate whether cabin attendants' perceptions of safety climate differ according to their socio-demographic characteristics. From this point of view, the analysis of the research, which used a survey technique to measure the safety climate perception of 230 cabin attendants, was made with the SPSS 26.0 program. The findings show that cabin crew's perception of safety climate does not differ according to age, gender and marital status.

The aim of this study is to determine the depression, anxiety, and stress levels of those who apply for unemployment insurance benefits using the DASS-21 scale, which is an important social policy aiming to partially and temporarily compensate the income loss of the employees whose job was terminated, and to shed light on the policies to be created in this direction. For this purpose, the research was carried out with a total of 479 individuals, 279 of whom were women and 280 were men, who applied for Unemployment İnsurance Benefits at Turkiye Employment Agency (İŞKUR) Eskişehir Provincial Directorate between September 1-30, 2022. The data obtained from this study shows that there is no significant difference in the levels of depression, anxiety, and stress according to the gender of the participants. Considering the same case in terms of marital status and education level, it was observed that depression, anxiety, and stress levels were higher if the individuals were married, and the education level of the individuals was higher. In addition, it has been observed that the depression, anxiety, and stress levels of individuals who work in the same workplace for longer periods than the shorter ones displayed higher levels of emotions on the measurements while applying for unemployment insurance benefits.

This study aims at exploring the psychological contract breach’s impact on procrastination at work. Besides, the present study examines whether organizational cynicism mediates this impact. Drawing on social exchange and affective events theory, this study hypothesized that the psychological contract breach would increase procrastination at work, and organizational cynicism would mediate the link between psychological contract breach and procrastination at work. We gathered data from 237 employees by adopting the survey method for testing the hypotheses. All analyses were conducted by using quantitative research methods. Findings indicated that psychological contract breach significantly increased work procrastination. In addition, organizational cynicism had a full mediation role. Several implications were proposed based on the findings.

In this article, we examine the current state of climate change and social policy in Turkey. Turkey is geographically located in one of the world's most vulnerable regions to the effects of climate change. However, it has been slow to implement concrete policy measures in response to climate change. Policies similar to international efforts to intervene in climate change have been adopted, and institutions have been established, particularly since the early 2000s. However, little consideration is given to the impact of this urgent problem on social policies and the role of social policies in addressing it. This article examines the difficulties Turkey faces in addressing climate change, including political and economic barriers, as well as the various social and environmental effects of the problem on the population. Finally, the article concludes by discussing the responsibilities in the climate change action plan from a social policy standpoint.

This study focuses on the contents of the syllabuses of scientific research methods and equivalent courses in International Relations (IR) graduate programs in Türkiye. The study aims at analyzing what the subjects in the syllabus are and which subjects are taught. To display the distributions, two categories were determined under the theme of methodology and method. The first is the “meaning of science, philosophy of science and methodology” category, which represents the more philosophical and theoretical dimension, and the second is the “research methods” category, which represents the more technical dimension. Among 133 graduate programs, 141 syllabuses were scanned, and 68 syllabuses were examined. The research was designed according to the case study within the qualitative research approach. The data collection method of the study is document analysis. The data analysis method is content analysis. According to the findings, it was observed that there was a concentration on the “research methods” category at a rate of 81% and the category of “meaning of science, philosophy of science and methodology” at a rate of 19%. It was seen that the subjects of data collection methods, research designs, and data analysis methods were mostly covered in the category of “research methods”. The mixed research approach is almost non-existent in the syllabuses. It was determined that there is a concentration on the meaning of science and positivism within the category of the meaning of science, philosophy of science and methodology. Critical realism, anti-positivism, and pragmatism are among the least covered subjects. As a result, it showed that the syllabuses were not up-to-date, and the philosophical and theoretical part of the method was not discussed in depth in the lessons. In the study, a syllabus for research method courses was presented. This syllabus proposal is considered to be a guide for bringing method courses up-to-date.
