Entrepreneurship has become vital for national growth. Therefore, it is essential to explore the factors that enhance entrepreneurial transformation. The literature identifies two main driving forces behind entrepreneurship: necessity and opportunity, which react differently to the socio-economic factors. This study explores the socio-economic determinants of necessity-based entrepreneurship and opportunity-based entrepreneurship. Here the yearly data of 108 countries from 2009 to 2017 is used to formulate a panel data model. Data on entrepreneurship is taken from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM). HDI is used as a surrogate measure of socio-economic factors along with several control variables like cost of doing business, economic factors, governance factors and perception factors. Panel Feasible Generalized Least Squares (FGLS) estimation technique accounts for spatial heterogeneity. The panel data estimation shows that human capital improvement enhances the opportunities for entrepreneurial transformation while decreasing necessity-based entrepreneurship due to higher job creation. The findings also suggest that improvement in governance, perceived opportunities, openness, and culture are vital for enhancing opportunity-driven entrepreneurship.

The interconnection between profits, people and environment has been well recognized in organizations (Elkington, 1998). With the sustainability issues coming to the forefront, organizations across the world are encouraged to adopt sustainable ways of working aligned to Sustainable Development Goals. Sustainable Behavior of employees at the workplace can play a significant role in strengthening the positive influence of firm’s environmental performance and can lead to the sustainable transition of organization to bring forth sustainable innovations. The 21st century is said to be IT driven and India promises to be a knowledge powerhouse. IT-BPM (Information technology and Business Process Management) sector accounted for 7.4% of the India's GDP in 2022 and expected to contribute around 10% by 2025, making it one of the biggest contributing sectors to economic growth (IBEF, 2022). It is imperative for the IT sector to develop sustainable IT products to reduce carbon emissions across all sectors of the economy which cannot be achieved without the active pro-environment behavior exhibited by employees. Employee Sustainable Behavior at workplace is still relatively recent subject of research, so this domain lacks studies in the said area. The present research examines the role that demographic variables play in determining level of employee sustainable behavior among those working in IT sector. The managerial implication of the study focuses on how IT firms can foster sustainable behavior among their employees at the workplace within the demographic context.

The world in the 21st century is marked by high population mobility. When an increasing number of people have chosen to leave their motherlands and resettle in a new country, of those issues that have concerned the government, academics and the public throughout the world, urban sprawl is one of the most prominent. There are conflicting views toward this growing trend. While it has been taken as a positive development in many newly emerging cities, it is increasingly perceived as a threat to urban environment and considered as a trigger for numerous urban problems. The objective of this article is to evaluate the forces behind this trend and its consequences regarding to UN-Habitat program, based on the experiences of successful cities in the world to reveal the theoretical and practical aspects of what is currently known as a sustainable urban development on a global scale. The principles derived from the evaluating, are proposed to be used in sustainable development of Tehran city in Iran.

The present paper approaches Corporate Social Responsibility through a case study concerning Cause Related Marketing, whose concept is defined by strategic partnerships between companies and social organizations. The enterprises invest on the social cause, promoting the corporate social responsibility, whereas the social organizations receive financial resources for their causes, and both gain visibility. Nowadays, it is quite common to find enterprises worldwide which include private social investment in their market strategies to add value and credibility to their brands. However, in Brazil few enterprises are aware of the possibility to use this tool of Cause Related Marketing (CRM). The scope of this study is to understand and clarify the kind of partnership between Alpargatas-Havaianas and Institute of Ecological Research-IPÊ, in Brazil, as well as identify the main challenges of the partnership developed by both. To reach this aim, bibliographic research was performed, followed by document analysis, partially structured in-depth interviews, besides direct observation in some stores. The partnership started in 2004 and showed to have well structured principles of CRM, concerning the alignment between the parties, formal partnership, social cause, donation mode and duration. It was observed that the sales people in the exclusive stores for Havaianas and IPÊ sandals can be more well trained, and communication on the partnership for the consumer can be strengthened. Cause Related Marketing showed to be an important tool for Corporate Social Responsibility.

The construct of graduate employability (GE) has received a considerable attention from researchers and policy makers because of its importance in attaining the national economic agenda. Human resource management researchers have identified and examined several antecedents of employability. To date, some of the factors that have been considered include soft skills, communication skills and problem-solving skills, among others. Despite this research efforts, only few studies have attempted to consider the influence of psychological capital (PsyCap) on GE. Even if any, they have reported conflicting findings. Therefore, a moderating variable is suggested. This paper proposes grit as potential moderator on the relationship between PsyCap and graduate employability.

The understanding that natural resources are finite is leading organizations to redefine their supply chain toward sustainability. In this way, the purpose of this article is to investigate if the sustainable practices applied within the supply chain are following all the dimensions proposed by the concept of sustainable development. Therefore, a systematic review of the literature was carried out within the CAPES journal base from 2004 to 2017. From this sample, sustainable practices were segmented into economic, social and environmental, orientated by the sustainability tripod. The result shows that the economic and environmental dimensions have significant relevance regarding the adoption of sustainable practices in the supply chain whereas no significant evidence was found within the social context. New studies will be needed to understand why companies are not including the social issue in their sustainable practices within the supply chain and what can be done to reverse this situation.
