This article quantitatively analyzes the social media visibility of the football clubs playing in the First Division of the Spanish Football League, known as LaLiga EA Sports, for sponsorship purposes. The study is based on the analysis of the presence of the 20 teams playing in the 2023/24 season of LaLiga EA Sports, on the social networks Facebook, X, Instagram and YouTube. The “language used” in the Spanish social media accounts of these clubs is also studied as a variable on a sub-sample. The results indicate that 100% of the clubs analyzed have official accounts on Facebook, X, Instagram and YouTube. While some clubs are only present in these four social networks, some are present in up to eight. The article ranks the clubs according to number of followers on their social networks. In this regard, two clubs stand out above the rest: Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. On the other hand, in global terms, Instagram is the social network with the largest quantitative following. It was also found that all clubs follow a low number of accounts, although with very different proportions. This study investigates role of social media user engagement metrics in predicting career success likelihoods using supervised machine learning techniques. With platforms like LinkedIn and VKontakte becoming pivotal for networking and advancement, user statistics have emerged as potential indicators of professional capability. However, research questions metric reliability considering impression management tactics and biases. While prior studies examined limited activity features, this analysis adopts a robust CatBoost model to gauge career success prediction from multifaceted social data combinations. The study utilizes user profiles of over 17,000 on a major Russian platform. Individuals are categorized by an algorithm accounting for factors like salaries, experience, and employment status. User statistics spanning engagement, content sharing, popularity, and profile completeness provide model inputs. Following comparative evaluation, CatBoost achieved superior performance in classification accuracy, precision, recall and ROC AUC score. Analysis of SHapley Additive exPlanations values provides explanatory modeling insights into influential metrics, thresholds, and patterns. Results reveal subscribers, reposts and interest pages as highly impactful, suggesting that influence and content resonance predict success better than sheer visibility indicators like multimedia volumes. Findings also point to optimal engagement ranges beyond which career prediction gains diminish. Additionally, profile completeness and regular posting are positive to a limit, while likes to have negligible effects. The study contributes more holistic, data-driven visibility into effective social media conduct for career advancement. It advocates prioritizing network cultivation, tactical self-presentation, shareable narratives and reciprocal relationships over metrics gaming. Findings largely validate strategic communication theory around impression management and relationship-building.

This study explored university students’ perceptions of artificial intelligence (AI) literacy and AI education. Specifically, the authors sought to understand the level of AI literacy among university students, the extent of their prior exposure to AI education, and the factors that affect their AI education. The study was conducted through an online survey distributed among 300 university students at a Korean university. The study findings indicate that most university students are interested in learning AI. Moreover, the results showed that students with prior experience with software (SW) education showed superior knowledge, a better grasp of AI concepts, and more confidence in using AI technologies, especially in computer coding skills. On the other hand, students with less exposure to prior AI education expressed a need for more learning opportunities and sufficient knowledge of computer coding skills. In addition, we found that students who had received SW education during their K-12 schooling showed better math skills than those who had only received short-term training in university. These findings underscore the importance of addressing the educational barriers that impede university students’ ability to harness this interest effectively. In conclusion, our study provides valuable insights into university students’ perceptions regarding AI literacy and the factors that affect their AI education.

The twin phenomena of cyberbullying and cyberaggression are among the most common e-threats. Today, much is known about the aggression and violence mediated by new media and targeted at students. However, there is still an empirical gap in the consideration of the mechanisms and forms of cyberaggression and cyberbullying targeting teachers. The aim of this study is to present 10 types of cyber-attacks that teachers have been subjected to in Poland in the last few years. The types of attacks presented include vilification in the information space (forums and social networking sites), direct attack using social networks, recording teachers without their consent, online blackmail, creation and dissemination of memes, photomontage, latent cyberbullying, destructive actions in the COVID-19 period, the creation of fake profiles, and the use of a digital tool in an offline environment. The subject of the study was the statements of post-secondary school graduates who had encountered such phenomena. The article highlights the need to increase digital safety for teachers.

Explore first pedagogical approach promotes the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Promotes active involvement on the part of learners with the subject matter, which leads to exploring concepts through hands-on activities fostering a deeper understanding. The use of virtual and immersive learning environments (VILEs) in an educational context has raised interest among teachers and researchers. In this study, we design a short-training course supported by exploring first in a VILE. With this study, we investigate the perception of teachers who attended a short-training course about integrating VILEs in their teaching practice. Quantitative and qualitative methods have been used to collect teachers’ perceptions. Quantitative data were subjected to statistical analysis, and qualitative data to content analysis. The results excitingly reveal teachers’ openness to integrating immersive virtual learning environments in their teaching work and admit advantages. These teachers were interested in using immersive virtual learning environments as educational resources but recognized that they needed training to use them effectively. Therefore, it is thought that exploring first in an immersive virtual learning environment will contribute to distance education by online learning.

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between social isolation, ChatGPT usage, and social support perceptions among older adults. A sample of 65 participants aged 50 and above completed self-report questionnaires assessing social isolation, ChatGPT usage, and social support perceptions. The results indicated that social isolation is moderately prevalent among older adults, and ChatGPT usage is significantly related to social support perceptions, independent of age, gender, education, and employment status. The findings suggest that ChatGPT may be a useful tool for addressing social isolation among older adults. The study provides insight into the potential benefits of using ChatGPT as an alternative source of social support for older adults experiencing social isolation.

This study adopted a qualitative ethnographic approach to explore the factors influencing English as a foreign language undergraduate and graduate students’ emoji use in X (previously Twitter). To this end, a convenient sample of fifteen Twitter-using Saudi female undergraduate and graduate students at a Saudi University was recruited. Semi-structured interviews were used as data collection methods. The study revealed that there are some factors influencing emoji use. According to the study results, age impacts both emoji frequency and meaning. Moreover, it was found that different personas were exhibited by some participants, suggesting that they are much less reserved in English, which could influence their emoji use. Additionally, the results showed that different religious beliefs and cultural backgrounds can shape an individual’s perception and interpretation of emojis. The topic of discussion and the gender of the interlocutors were also mentioned as additional factors. The study thus provided insights into a rarely investigated area of research, which is the factors influencing English as a foreign language undergraduate and graduate students’ emoji use in online postings. This study investigates the positive effect of social media on employee mental health, a critical factor affecting both individual well-being and organizational performance. Addressing a gap in empirical research, particularly in Malaysian context, this study utilizes a two-round Delphi method to gather expert opinions from diverse fields, sectors, industries, and generations. The research identified 41 themes, subsequently categorized into five key dimensions. The study found that interpersonal connection was the most important dimension, followed by psychological well-being, performance and satisfaction, growth and development, and working culture. This research elucidates the multifaceted benefits of social media in enhancing employee mental health and offers comprehensive insights into its constructive role in the workplace. Contributing to the literature, it provides practical implications and strategic recommendations for organizations to leverage social media effectively to bolster employee mental health.

The study aims to investigate how digital media frame and present environmental issues and challenges of climate change in terms of four environmental and climate challenges: mitigation, adaptation, finance, and collaboration. The study also seeks to understand the extent that government bodies mobilize digital media to disseminate and promote necessary environmental challenges during COP27 climate summit in Egypt. The study uses the discourse analysis approach to define the key themes and issues that are portrayed and to understand how digital platforms reflected the conference agenda and climate change challenges. We analyzed 119 posts and news reports published on the conference website and Instagram account during November 2022. Results revealed that the platforms framed challenges of climate change during COP27 in many ways: the opportunity to find solutions, the urgency to address climate issues, and taking immediate actions in terms of transparency, adequate finance, ease of support flow, cooperation, participation, and youth involvement. The study also seeks to understand the extent that government bodies mobilize digital media to disseminate and promote necessary environmental challenges during COP27 climate summit in Egypt. The study uses the discourse analysis approach to define the key themes and issues that are portrayed and to understand how digital platforms reflected the conference agenda and climate change challenges. We analyzed 119 posts and news reports published on the conference website and Instagram account during November 2022. Results revealed that the platforms framed challenges of climate change during COP27 in many ways: the opportunity to find solutions, the urgency to address climate issues, and taking immediate actions in terms of transparency, adequate finance, ease of support flow, cooperation, participation, and youth involvement. Advancements in communication-mobile technologies have transformed the digital landscape, creating new opportunities while also exposing disparities in access and usage. This phenomenon of unequal digital participation, often termed the “digital divide”, can exacerbate inequalities. Bridging this divide through innovative technological solutions and policy interventions is critical for empowerment. This study investigates the role communication-mobile technologies have played in promoting digital inclusion over the past decade through a systematic review of academic literature. Fourteen studies published between 2012 and 2023 were analyzed following a rigorous selection process. A conceptual framework was developed to examine the layers of the digital divide, variety of divides, intervention types, and tools used. The analysis reveals the multifaceted nature of the divide across geographical, socioeconomic, and demographic dimensions. Communication and access emerge as pivotal elements, with studies emphasizing approaches like leveraging libraries as community hubs. The importance of multi-tiered interventions, from grassroots to policy-level, is pronounced. Arts, libraries, training, and mobile platforms are identified as key tools. While the findings largely align with the topics highlighted in the preliminary sections, gaps exist concerning insufficiently addressed divides and groups. Expanding the discourse to incorporate these areas can enrich the conceptualization of communication technologies’ role in digital inclusion. This timely systematic review provides a foundation for continued interrogation of digital participation challenges facing diverse global populations.
