Object Detection with Dataset Augmentation for Fire Images Based on GAN 基于GAN的火焰图像数据集增强目标检测

Objection detection is the task to find and classify objects in images. Many object detection models based on a deep learning algorithm have been proposed. Deep learning algorithms require the models to be trained with affluent images with accurate annotations. However, in the case of fire detection, neither enough datasets to train the detection model nor correct and sufficient annotations exist. In this paper, we propose a GAN-based model to generate fire images with bounding boxes to enhance the performance of the fire detection model. Through the experiments, we demonstrated that the model can inject flame images into the clean images within specified areas and the generated images are enough to augment the fire detection dataset so that the model's object detection performance can be improved.

A Survey on Passive Beamforming using Statistical State Information in Intelligent Reflecting Surface Assisted Networks 基于统计状态信息的智能反射面辅助网络被动波束形成研究

Intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) is one of the promising technologies for next-generation communication networks, which is capable of customizing propagation environment and provides significant improvements in terms of energy and spectral efficiency. To realize these potential benefits of the IRS, an efficient IRS passive beamforming design should be considered. However, most recent studies have relied on instantaneous channel state information (I-CSI), which changes very fast and is not practical. Alternatively, using slow-varying statistical CSI (S-CSI) or their combination (hybrid CSI) is more attractive. This paper reviews some recent studies on S-CSI and hybrid CSI for IRS passive beamforming design.

Deep Reinforcement Learning based SAR Image Pre-Processing Algorithm with Finite Buffer LEO Satellite Networks 基于深度强化学习的有限缓冲LEO卫星网络SAR图像预处理算法

As space technology advances, launching low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites become easier and LEO satellites are being used in various fields. In particular, LEO synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system is in the spotlight with many advantages, e.g., regardless of weather condition, 24 hour operation. SAR system can be used in various fields such as object detection and disaster observation. However, SAR image has speckling noise, so image pre-processing must be required. There are many researches on the SAR image processing, however, few publications are considering a buffer status. Therefore, in this paper, we suggest the optimal SAR image pre-processing in LEO SAR satellites and a ground station with finite buffer based on deep reinforcement learning (DRL). As a result of DRL simulation, while changing the buffer size of the LEO SAR satellites, efficiency of buffer was improved by selecting the optimal filter size according to the state of the buffer.

Cost-Efficient Edge Cloud Deployment Method for Autonomous Driving 基于成本效益的自动驾驶边缘云部署方法

When edge clouds are deployed at all road side unit (RSU), autonomous vehicles (AVs) can offload the tasks and receive the results of the tasks with low latency. However, too excessive deployment of edge clouds can lead significant capital expenditure (CAPEX) of an offloading service provider. In this paper, we propose a cost-efficient edge cloud deployment method where the deployment locations of edge clouds are minimally decided by considering task offloading rates of road segments. To minimize the number of deployed edge clouds while supporting all generated traffic volumes, we formulate an integer non-linear programming (INLP) problem. For the practical deployment even at a huge target area, we propose a low-complexity heuristic algorithm called traffic-aware deployment algorithm (TADA). Evaluation results demonstrate that TADA can achieve a similar deployment cost with the optimal solution while handling all generated traffic.

Underwater Internet of Things: Standardization Strategy 水下物联网:标准化战略

With the Internet of Things (IoT) development, the Underwater Internet of Things (UIoT) has been introduced to enable smart services by connecting devices in underwater environments. Therefore, the UIoT has been one of the important topics of standardization in Subcommittee 41 in Joint Technical Committee 1 under the International Organization for Standardization/International Electrotechnical Commission (ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 41). This paper reviews and informs the IoT community on the UIoT activities in the recently established Working Group 7 (WG7) in ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 41, named “Maritime, Underwater IoT and Digital Twin Applications.” This paper then discusses standardization strategies for UIoT reference architecture (UIoT RA). The UIoT RA is the foundational system structure for future underwater technical and application standard development in ISO/IEC JTC1/SC 41/WG7.

Toward Suitable Area Coverage for Finding Battery Swapping Station Locations using GIS and Distance Function 利用地理信息系统和距离函数寻找电池更换站位置的合适覆盖区域研究

Electric vehicles (EVs) are becoming an increasingly popular and competitive option for clean transportation. However, the improper location of battery charging or swapping stations has impeded the adoption of electric vehicles. In this paper, we propose a distance function using Geographic Information System (GIS) techniques to find the proper station locations in order to provide optimized area coverage. The feasibility of this model is verified by simulation of station locations in Phuket, Thailand. The set coverage model proposed is a new solution to discover the optimal location for electric vehicle charging stations across Thailand. This study aims to provide a theoretical basis for the deployment of these new charging stations.

Experimental Study of Zero-Copy Performance for Immersive Streaming Service in Linux Linux下沉浸式流媒体服务零拷贝性能实验研究

With the development of network technology, many new services are emerging such as virtual reality, Augmented Reality and Holographic-Type Communication. In particular, immersive streaming service demand on the network to satisfy transmission speed, number of device connections and low latency. Even if such an immersive service need ultra-low latency, most of the research focuses on the reducing delay to the network. In other words, in order to satisfy end-to-end ultra-low latency, packet processing in the internal network layer of end devices is important. This paper compares and analyzes the high-speed packet processing technologies such as DPDK and XDP of the network layer in Linux. Our implementation and experiments shows the applicability of each technology with immersive service as an application.

Evaluation for Cell Density of Mobile Network in Traffic-intensive Areas 交通密集地区移动网络小区密度评价

As user traffic of mobile network increases, network operators should guarantee the quality of service by capacity expansion such as installation of additional cells. However, since cells have been densely deployed in traffic-intensive areas, additional cell split may not be effective due to increased interference. Therefore, it is important to evaluate the cell density and pilot pollution status to estimate the effectiveness of cell expansion in terms of cost saving. In this paper, we propose the methodology for evaluating the cell density using the pilot pollution with the signal strength and quality of serving and neighbor cells. For signal quality analysis, we introduce the signal quality indicator independent of cell load and the method for deriving threshold. Finally, pilot pollution based on area-scale and cell-scale was evaluated for each mobile network operator using the in-filed measurement data collected in the Gangnam area of Seoul, South Korea. According to the analysis of this paper, the result of the pilot pollution ratio in the sample area is 75% to 78%, and the result based on each cell is 96% to 98%.

However, since cells have been densely deployed in traffic-intensive areas, additional cell split may not be effective due to increased interference. Therefore, it is important to evaluate the cell density and pilot pollution status to estimate the effectiveness of cell expansion in terms of cost saving. In this paper, we propose the methodology for evaluating the cell density using the pilot pollution with the signal strength and quality of serving and neighbor cells. For signal quality analysis, we introduce the signal quality indicator independent of cell load and the method for deriving threshold. Finally, pilot pollution based on area-scale and cell-scale was evaluated for each mobile network operator using the in-filed measurement data collected in the Gangnam area of Seoul, South Korea. Leveraging Edge Computing Resource Orchestration to Improve QoS for IoT 利用边缘计算资源编排改善物联网的QoS

Edge computing is to deploy micro data centers (MDCs) at the edge nodes of the network to provide services nearby, using the bandwidth of the edge network while reducing network delay. We propose the Greedy-based Resource Orchestration for IoT Edge Computing (GROTEC) mechanism that runs in edge computing environment. The GROTEC mechanism uses a global resource orchestrator to orchestrate the resources of the MDCs with a greedy strategy. The GROTEC mechanism includes a request dispatching algorithm, a request offloading mechanism and a service migration mechanism. The experiment results show that the request offloading mechanism of GROTEC reduces the duration of MDC being overloaded by 97.9%, decreases the network traffic of overloaded MDC by 91.9%, and improves the latency of requests by 12.6%. From the experiment results, the service migration mechanism of GROTEC can ease the load of the cloud data center and improve the latency of requests by 26.8%.

State Injection and Syndrome Decoding for Rotated Surface Code in Quantum Computing 量子计算中旋转面码的状态注入与证候解码

In this paper, we analyze a syndrome decoding problem that occurs when performing state injection on rotated surface code with distance = 3 and propose a method to solve it. When state injection is performed on the rotated surface code with distance 3, there are some cases that the state of logical qubit becomes $alphavert 0> mathrm{L}-upbetavert 1> mathrm{L}$. due to the syndrome decoding problem. In this paper, we analyze the problem and propose an syndrome decoding method for the state injection. In addition, this was verified using quantum simulators.
