Miniaturized microstrip ring filter 小型化微带环形滤波器

Miniaturized microstrip ring filter is presented. Four lumped capacitors are added in the initial ring resonator topology to shift the resonant frequency to about 50% of its nominal value, leading to size reduction of the filter. The required value of the capacitors is calculated using tuning synthesis equations of the ring resonator. The passband response of the filter is improved by modifying the line impedance of the ring. The final layout of the miniaturized filter centered at 2.76 GHz is compared to its counterpart showing a size reduction of about 67%.

Characterization of photoresist etching in KOH silicon etchant using microneedle masking design 用微针掩蔽设计表征KOH硅蚀刻剂的光刻胶蚀刻

This paper discussed on photoresist etching characterization in 5 % KOH etchant. The work that has been done at UTHM clean room, consists of three main experiment parameters which are bake time, spin speed, and UV expose time. The mask pattern used in this work is based on microneedle array masking design. The observations were done in term of, photoresist thickness and percentage photoresist remaining after wet etching process. The positive resist, PR-2000 was used for the work and grid approximation based on high resolution imaging microscope was used as statistical technique to characterize the effect. The obtained etching behaviors on every microneedle masking array will be useful to assist in developing recipes to fabricate microneedle microstructure.

A survey and proposed reusability assessment framework for aspect oriented product line core assets 面向方面的产品线核心资产可重用性评估框架的研究与建议

Software Product Lines (SPL) emerged to promote the strategic, planned reuse that yields predictable results. Aspect Oriented Software Development (AOSD) provides efficient solution for modularity and handling of crosscutting concerns. Recent research proposes use of AOSD in SPL for better separation of concerns and modularity to increase variability that leads to more reusable core assets. This paper highlights the gap in the area of reusability assessment of aspect oriented product line core assets and proposes a reusability assessment framework for aspect oriented product line core assets.

A reconfigurable LNA for multi-standard receiver using 0.18 μm CMOS technology 采用0.18 μm CMOS技术的可重构多标准接收机LNA

This paper presents the design of a reconfigurable low noise amplifier (LNA) for multi-standard multi-band receiver. In this design, inductively-degenerated common-source (IDCS) topology is chosen as it has been proven to be a good choice in designing multi-standard multi-band LNA. The design is using 0.18 μm CMOS technology. The reconfigurable LNA has been designed to operate in two bands of standards consisting the bands range from 800 to 1000-MHz (lower band) and 1800 to 2200-MHz (upper band). The simulation results exhibit gain S21 of 12.9-dB for lower band and 12.4-dB for upper band, input reflection S11 of −14.5-dB and −17.2-dB for both bands, and output return loss S22 of −14.7-dB and −26-dB for lower and upper band making the LNA suitable for most of the mobile communication applications. The LNA also exhibits the noise of figure of 2.55-dB and 2.3-dB for lower and upper band respectively. The circuit consumes 26.5 mW when operating in lower band mode and uses 18.8 mW of power when operating in upper band mode.

Mathematical performance analysis of a reciprocating-fork hopper feeder 往复叉料斗给料器数学性能分析

Feeders form a critical part of automated assembly lines. Along with feeding from a bulk supply, they also convert the randomness of parts into a flow in a geometrical pattern and deliver them at a predetermined rate. This paper mathematically analyses a reciprocating-fork hopper feeder. This system supplies headed parts like bolts and rivets in an upright configuration to the delivery chute through a pneumatically-actuated reciprocating fork which picks up the parts from a rotating bowl. The feed rate performance of the feeder is analysed for three parameters: part population, rate of reciprocation of fork and speed of rotation of bowl. The Design of Experiments (DOE) is done using 23 full-factorial method. A mathematical model is formulated using Design Expert ® software, to investigate the significance of individual parameters as well as interactions amongst them. Adequacy of the model to predict the performance of the feeder is checked using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) method. The results obtained are presented graphically and in the form of factorial model which defines the performance characteristics of the feeder. The mathematical model also provides the most appropriate process parameter settings to optimize the feed rate of the feeder under the given constraints.

An operational amplifier (Op Amp) based on self cascode structure is proposed that works with a supply voltage of ± .75 volt. It provides an open loop gain of 52dB with a unity gain frequency of about 17 MHz, with 145 microwatt of power consumption. Simulation results are based on p-spice simulation for 0.25μm CMOS technology.

Effectiveness of pre-employment screening methods 就业前筛选方法的有效性

This work looks at employment background screening methods. Effective pre-employment screening is a necessity not an option. The research assesses the effectiveness of employment background screening methods. Statistical analysis of quantitative information obtained from an email survey questionnaire, illustrates the effectiveness of background screening methods. It was discovered that background screening methods are the same. The study proposes two issues the development of an integrated online background screening approach and national online databases, in order to comprehensively screen data over the internet.

Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols are application specific in nature. This paper proposes E2L2 MAC protocol for applications involving low network traffic but requiring prompt delivery of data. The wireless sensor networks' application area of medical monitoring and treatment is an example which encompasses such characteristics and requirements. Sensor nodes operate in half duplex mode and are defined to have two communication channels- data and control channel. While handshakes, to avoid collision between the contending sensor nodes, are done on the control channel using modified RTS and CTS packets, the data channel is utilized for data transmission. Low traffic on the network allows node reservation chain to be formed with the help of control channel handshakes, at the same time when data is flowing on the data channel. A packet reception algorithm is utilized to decide on the type of scheduling behavior to be used by the sensor nodes. Significant advantages in energy efficiency and latency are obtained as a direct impact of the protocol.

The parallel continuous type of counterpoise wire is the best ground system currently, it is reduce the ground resistance less than 25 Ω in high resistivity of soil arriving 4450 Ωm with 400 m length. The created ground system types of proposed chem-counterpoise can be used in both homogenous and inhomogeneous soil that have soil resistivity arriving 10000 Ωm. The proposed chem-counterpoise devices will be used to reduce the risk of BFO rate, repeated outage and economic losses.

Utilizing Electronic Institution for protocol specification in agent-based e-learning system 利用电子机构规范基于agent的电子学习系统协议

This paper describes the specification of interaction protocol for automating the document downloading and notification in the e-learning by adopting the Electronic Institution (El) infrastructure. This interaction protocol is designed using specific tool called ISLANDER editor which is one of the Electronic Institution Integrated Development Environment (EIDE) components. The idea of designing this interaction protocol is believed can eliminate the tendency of students from missing out the latest updates available in their e-learning. Furthermore, with the adoption of agent-based environment for e-learning will add a new feature to the existing e-learning in a way of assisting a busy lifestyle of students to hand over the task of downloading lecture materials and checking the latest announcements available in the e-learning to the software agent straight to their desktop. Hence, the students will not miss any important announcements or latest learning materials uploaded by their lecturers. In this paper, we are only focusing and describing the process of specifying interaction protocol using ISLANDER editor.
