The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development defines the need to guarantee an inclusive and equitable quality education for all people. This means that education systems should introduce the gender debate in different areas of education, from teacher training to the definition of subject knowledge, with the purpose of changing traditional roles and gender stereotypes. Incorporating the gender perspective in teaching involves reflecting on the different elements that make up the teaching-learning process from the point of view of the sex and gender variables. But, in addition, it means understanding in what context that teaching is taught and what competences must be offered to students. This paper presents a proposal for including the gender perspective in the teaching of a Software Engineering I subject included in the Computer Engineering Degree at the University of Valencia. The results show a clear impact on students, with large differences by gender, which corroborates the persistence of the gender gap in the university field of Computer Science and opens new ways to continue working on proposals that help closing this gap.

Since March 2020, adapting to the new context derived from COVID-19, face-to-face higher education institutions in Spain were forced to resort to distance learning and implemented different strategies to fulfill their functions. This work collects the strategies developed by the Faculty of Tourism of the University of Malaga, in the subjects of curricular internships during the academic years 2019/20 and 2020/21, through the resources and methodologies used. This work leads to a series of conclusions and future lines of research that are revealed in this area.

The emergence of Open Educational Resources (OER) triggers specific characteristics in the repositories, which have had to adapt to the needs of OER users, identifying and creating specific typologies, addressed by recent research. This article presents a review of the literature on the use of OER and the adoption of specialized repositories of digital educational resources. The review shows clear evidence that there is a division between the Global North and South in terms of participation with open educational resources (OER). Too is possible to identify some persistent difficulties throughout the period analyzed, particularly those reported by teachers in terms of finding, conserving, and sharing OER, without find a solution applicable to various contexts.

This paper presents the educational experience of using virtual reality learning environments (VRLEs) for teaching crystal lattices. For this purpose, two environments were used: (i) non-immersive and (ii) immersive. As the only difference of both VRLEs is the level of immersion, the results of this study confirm the influence of immersion on some important aspects in the design of VRLEs, such as: usability, ease of use, motivation and interactivity.

Systems that make recommendations One of the most intriguing systems, which allows students to browse or search a big number of possibilities for specific goods related to their interests. Using varied methodologies such as the content-based approach and the collaborative approach, these systems have assisted learners in e-learning in filtering options and selecting information. However, learners have not been totally happy with the offer as a result of these tactics. In this paper, to compensate for the shortcomings of previous approaches, propose a novel clustering-based strategy. The main purpose of this proposed technique is to generate homogeneous groups of learners in order to cover and absorb all of the essential information.

The tactical virtualisation of university teaching in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic has required institutions to respond to the training demands of the teaching staff with flexible initiatives that go beyond the established educational curricula and programmes. The results of one of these initiatives is presented in this paper with regard to participation by the professors and the evaluation of the project. We refer to the mentoring programme for digital competencies of the Faculty of Communication Sciences at the University of Malaga, in which the professors themselves have trained and guided other professors at the university in order to help them adapt their teaching. The results show a high level of participation and satisfaction on the part of the faculty, as well as a positive impact on teaching according to the students themselves. The article concludes by sharing guidelines for action that can be transferred to other centres and universities, in addition to reflecting on practices and ways of learning that can be applied beyond the pandemic.

REDPETUR is a competency-based teaching network in the field of internships in tourism studies. Its goal is to successfully address the role of these studies in society and optimize the public resources used. This Network has carried out a series of activities, thanks to the financing of the Integral Teaching Plan of the University of Malaga, which have contributed to the adaptation of training in pandemic times using information technologies (IT) such as Virtual Campus and Icaro platform (an ecosystem which connects companies, students and teachers). In addition, from a Delphi analysis this network has set the foundations for collaboration between tourism faculties sharing generated content to ensure their students gain practical experience to complete their education.

The gender gap is a problem that affects all areas and regions in the world. The lack of females depends on different external and internal factors that make it a complex problem. In particular, this gap is most pronounced in engineering. Engineering and technical studies have a shortage of female vocations and a high dropout rate. In this paper, we present the pilot peer-mentoring programme, which has been carried out in the 2020-21 academic year at the University of Salamanca in the Higher Polytechnic School of Zamora. Mentoring has been given to first-year female students of engineering degrees. The implementation of the pilot programme has provided helpful information for implementing the mentoring programme from the 2021-22 academic year.

The European Union promotes the development of European projects that provide relevant information on the methodologies used at educational level through different programs, including the Erasmus+ Programme. These projects are the source of inspiration for the research that gives rise to this article among others. This paper focuses on how teachers’ professional development is approached using technologies within European projects related to eLearning under the umbrella of Erasmus+. The results show a greater representation of projects from the school education and vocational education and training fields. As its main results it could be highlighted that the most predominant ICT resources used by the teachers are those linked with office automation management, basic skills, and presentations as well as platforms for collaboration; those related to video and photo edition, the use of network resources and digital learning environment also stand out. Besides regarding ICT training the most frequent activities are "training by another teacher who has attended a course on ICT" and "Observation practices to other teachers who use ICT in their teaching". Variations between educational sectors are detected that may be the reason for a more in-depth investigation.

Learning analytics processes have an increased relevance in the digitization and virtualization of learning and teaching due to COVID-19, this analytical practice may mean improvements in K-12 levels in Spain. The work aims to expose the principal scientific publications regarding Learning analytics at these educational levels through a systematic mapping study. The authors set the hypothesis that there is limited research in such an educational context. Results validate the hypothesis and foster to continue the work through a deeper systematic review.
