Loads and Road Design for Intermodal Container Terminals with Untypical Heavy Load Traffic 非典型重载交通条件下多式联运集装箱码头的荷载与道路设计

There is a high demand in Poland for new intermodal container terminals. Increased rate of freight transport requires however new solutions for durable roads. Intermodal operations are carried out by swap bodies, trailers or most often containers. The intermodal terminals play the function of a storage, transportation and handling of the containers. The road surfaces within the terminals are exposed to different types of loads due to untypical types of transportation that operates on them. New types of roads demand new design methods that consider loads applied by special types of vehicles (container cranes, types of forklifts called reach-stackers). They also need to consider the method of container stacking, where the local forces can reach up to 1400 kN. The article presents typical loads that can be found in intermodal terminals, including the storing area and maneuvering aisles. The article presents also typical materials used for road construction, as well as method of dimensioning that incorporates different exposure factors. The method allows to design load-bearing and durable road surfaces. The calculations were performed for materials typically used in road construction, as well as in industrial flooring. The study presents a case study calculation of a parking lot designed for heavy load trucks.

Satellite technologies of communication, navigation and surveillance play an important role in modern transport, and particularly in aviation. High effectiveness of global air navigation system is provided by applying data broadcasted from great numbers of satellites, located on Earth orbits. The totality of existing satellite navigation system forms global radio navigation field which parameters should be constantly monitored and controlled for providing safety requirements. The aim of this article is to share experience of creating a laboratory of satellite technologies at the National Aviation University that performs simultaneously educational and scientific tasks.

Ecosystem Approach to the Formation of Goods Express Delivery Supply Chains in Aviation Logistics 航空物流中货物快递供应链形成的生态系统研究

The article shows that in the context of accelerating the processes of economic integration in aviation logistics at the micro, meso and macro levels, complicating the forms of business organization, the emergence of new forms of cooperation between companies and new ways of jointly creating added value, many organizational boundaries in the economy are becoming more blurred and dynamic. The use of the concept of "ecosystem" in research is growing. An attempt is made to consider the possibility of using the “ecosystem” design for economic analysis at the aggregated level and to highlight the elements of the aviation logistics ecosystem on which the attention of researchers will be focused. From the authors point of view, the aviation logistics ecosystem is a combination of aviation, logistics, transport and postal organizations, were provide goods express delivery supply chains with system of interconnected technologies use. In the framework of article analysis of air cargo industry framework, synchronization and digitization of service operations in air cargo service supply chain, express delivery supply chains were represented. The authors proposed a mathematical model that allows logisticians to optimize the supply chain of special categories of goods, which is one of the priority tasks of the aviation logistics ecosystem.

Aviation security is an important component of the concept of general national security, the system of personal security, public safety and transport safety from external and internal threats. Maintaining an acceptable level of national aviation safety is a priority for the industry. Economic security is very important in the context of globalization. The main tool for ensuring these tasks is proactive risk management. The development of economic risk management tools is relevant for sustainable development of both the industry of civil aviation in particular, and in the state economy as a whole.

This article discusses the reason for the suspension of railway traffic on the Jelenia Góra - Karpacz route. The possibility of reactivating the transport on this route was indicated. Based on the equation of the train movement, calculations of the theoretical travel were carried out, as a result of which the technical and total travel time were determined. A rational interval of train runs was determined and a timetable was proposed, taking into account relations going beyond Jelenia Góra. The article justifies the need to introduce supplementary connection operated by electric buses. The concept of reactivating traffic in this area should be supplemented with the construction of a P + R car park. The possibility of further development of the transport system in the discussed area was also proposed.

An evaluation of alliance motives, shipping alliances, and alliance performance in Taiwan 台湾联盟动机、航运联盟与联盟绩效评价

We introduce the transaction cost and market entry views as two critical motivations for shipping alliances and argue that shipping alliances increase alliance performance (i.e., improve oversupply, financial distress, and excessive competition). This study empirically evaluated the effects of transaction cost, market entry, and shipping alliances on alliance performance in a maritime shipping context. Data were collected from a survey of the Directory of the National Association of Shipping Agencies and Companies. A factor analysis was employed to identify the key dimensions, and a subsequent analysis was conducted using a structural equation model to test the research hypotheses. The findings show that shipping alliances act as a mediator variable between transaction cost, market entry, and alliance performance. The theoretical contributions and managerial implications are proposed to serve as a basis for a wider discussion of shipping alliances.

Shipbuilder country and second-hand price 造船国和二手价格

The hypothesis that a shipbuilder's country influences the second-hand price of ships is tacitly accepted by most market analysts and practitioners. This article presents an econometric analysis to test this hypothesis. The analysis is based on econometric modelling of second-hand ship prices. The regressors include ship deadweight, ship age, indexes of earnings and newbuilding prices, LIBOR, and dummy variables that represent the build country or region. Models specific for tankers, bulk carriers and containerships were estimated. The analysis has generally shown that the effect of a ship's build country on the second-hand price may be statistically significant. Additionally, an assessment of the time evolution of this effect has been performed on bulk carriers built in Japan that were sold from 2003 to 2017. The results indicated some negative correlation between the market state and the price differentials associated with the build country.

Modelling and quantifying the effects of trade facilitation on trade and international transport costs using the logistics performance index 利用物流绩效指数对贸易便利化对贸易和国际运输成本的影响进行建模和量化

In order to investigate and analyse the factors behind the promotion of international trade, we propose the logistics performance index (LPI) as a way to measure the facilitation of international trade. We suggest modelling transportation costs and their impact on trade according to a gravity approach. The impact of the LPI appears to be robust to the preferred specification (basic or with fixed effects) and to the different implemented econometric techniques (OLS, Tobit and PMLT), to the extent that we always obtain a significantly positive impact of the LPI for both the importing and exporting countries. Our results reveal two major mechanisms: 1) an improvement of the logistics performance index leads first to a reduction in transportation costs; 2) it further results in the expansion of trade. Econometric tests also show that a 10% increase in the index positively affects the probability of trade occurring, with it increasing by 30% in the importing country and by 40% in the exporting one.

We suggest modelling transportation costs and their impact on trade according to a gravity approach. The impact of the LPI appears to be robust to the preferred specification (basic or with fixed effects) and to the different implemented econometric techniques (OLS, Tobit and PMLT), to the extent that we always obtain a significantly positive impact of the LPI for both the importing and exporting countries. Our results reveal two major mechanisms: 1) an improvement of the logistics performance index leads first to a reduction in transportation costs; 2) it further results in the expansion of trade. Economic impacts and significance of the cruise ports in the USA 美国邮轮港口的经济影响和意义

There are more than 50 federally authorised ports in the USA that feature cruise ship operations, where the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is responsible for construction, operations, and maintenance. However, federal budgetary funds are allocated mostly based on tonnages and commodities shipped rather than the number of passengers served. We aim to establish an economic impact platform to capture the complexity and uniqueness of a cruise port in the value-added chain. From what comprises a cruise maritime cluster and to what extent core cruise business are integrated, the economic impact of a cruise port is much different from the existing literature considering only passenger consumption. A comprehensive model is proposed that analyses cruise ports, cruise line operations, and the role of related business in the supporting industries. Through the use of the proposed simulation platform, economic impacts are calculated for one of the busiest cruise ports in the USA, Canaveral Harbor Florida.
