Impact of family ostracism on employees' work and health: Work–family centrality as a moderator 家庭排斥对员工工作和健康的影响:工作-家庭中心性的调节作用

We explored why and when a pervasive negative family experience (family ostracism) can have an effect on individuals in the context of their employment (job goal progress, interpersonal citizenship behavior) and health outcomes (somatic complaints). We recruited 349 employees in China to complete a survey. The results showed that family ostracism was negatively related to job goal progress and interpersonal citizenship behavior and was positively related to somatic complaints. Psychological needs satisfaction partially mediated this relationship. Moreover, work–family centrality moderated the mediating effect: For individuals who prioritized work over family and derived their psychological satisfaction predominantly from their work rather than their family, the negative impact of family ostracism on the satisfaction of their psychological needs was relatively low. These results provide theoretical and practical insights into the value of avoiding the negative effects of family ostracism in the workplace.

Exercise adherence and subjective well-being: A chain mediating effect model 运动坚持与主观幸福感:一个链式中介效应模型

Exercise adherence plays an important role in promoting college students' subjective well-being, but the literature on the influence and mechanism of exercise adherence on subjective well-being remains scarce. We recruited 894 college students via stratified cluster random sampling. Exercise adherence, subjective well-being, mindfulness, and personal growth initiative were assessed by using standardized scales. Exercise adherence was found to be positively correlated with subjective well-being. Mindfulness and personal growth initiative had both independent and chain mediating effects on the relationship between exercise adherence and subjective well-being. The results have revealed the mechanism of this relationship and provide a preliminary basis for studying the causal relationships between them. Our findings also provide a theoretical basis for interventions to promote subjective well-being.

How supportive and controlling supervision influence employees' innovative behavior 支持性和控制性监督如何影响员工的创新行为

Research on whether leaders' supervision style substantially affects employees' innovative behavior has rarely been conclusive. Therefore, in this study I explored the mechanism of how supportive and controlling supervision can influence employees' innovative behavior, taking the effect of personal characteristics into consideration. I surveyed 261 employees in the research and development department of a business and the results revealed that supervision style had a significant effect on employees' innovation. Further, employees' work engagement mediated the relationship between supervision style and employees' innovative behavior. Finally, I verified the moderating effect of subordinates' regulatory focus and found that this effect differed according to the type of regulatory focus. The findings point to the importance of leaders adjusting their supervision style for individual team members.

The relationships between peer victimization, hostile attribution bias, and revenge: A latent profile analysis 同伴受害、敌意归因偏见和报复之间的关系:一个潜在的侧面分析

We explored possible patterns of peer victimization among middle school and high school students using latent profile analysis, and evaluated latent class differences in demographic characteristics and their associations with hostile attribution bias and revenge. We collected self-report questionnaire data from 14,271 Chinese middle school (grades 6–8) and high school (grades 9–11) students across 43 schools located in five provinces and autonomous regions. The results indicated that there were three latent classes of peer victimization with similar profile characteristics for middle school and high school students: the non/low-victimized class, the moderately victimized class, and the highly victimized class. The frequency of peer victimization was higher for students in the 8th and 10th grades than for those in the 11th grade. Boarding school students and left-behind students were more vulnerable to peer victimization. The more serious the peer victimization suffered by adolescents, the higher was their hostile attribution bias and desire for revenge.

Chinese college students' physical activity motivation and social development: Chain mediation effect of perceived social support and subjective well-being 中国大学生体育活动动机与社会发展:感知社会支持与主观幸福感的连锁中介作用

This study examined the mechanism of the relationship between college students' physical activity motivation and social development, providing a preliminary basis for studying the causal relationships between these variables. We conducted a survey with 831 college students in China who were selected using stratified cluster random sampling. Results showed that students' physical activity motivation was positively correlated with their social development, and perceived social support and subjective well-being had both independent and chain mediating effects in this relationship. This study enriches research in the fields of physical activity motivation and social development, and has practical significance for promoting the social development of college students.

Correlation between body mass index and cell phone dependence among children 儿童身体质量指数与手机依赖的相关性

This study examined the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and cell phone dependence in children. The study was conducted with 876 children from 30 classrooms in schools in Dalian, China, who completed standing height and weight measurements and a self-assessed questionnaire on adolescent cell phone use dependence. The correlation analysis showed a weak positive correlation between BMI and cell phone dependence that differed according to gender and type of family structure, such that boys had significantly higher BMI and cell phone dependence than did girls, and students from intergenerational families had significantly higher BMI and cell phone craving than did those from parental families. The results of this study need to be further tested in subsequent research.

Resilience and anxiety of new recruits in the Chinese military during COVID-19: Social support as a mediator 新冠肺炎疫情期间中国军队新兵心理韧性与焦虑:社会支持的中介作用

We investigated the mediating effect of social support in the relationship between the resilience and anxiety of new recruits to the Chinese military during COVID-19. We conducted a routine psychological assessment of 665 new recruits and the results indicated that resilience had a negative impact on anxiety symptoms and that social support mediated this association. Our findings suggest that improving the resilience of new recruits and strengthening their social support systems during the COVID-19 pandemic could effectively reduce their anxiety and improve their psychological health during the military adaptation period.

Emotional awareness and adolescent relational aggression: The moderating effect of Machiavellianism 情绪意识与青少年关系攻击:马基雅维利主义的调节作用

Despite previous research highlighting the impact of relational aggression on interpersonal relationships, few studies have examined the occurrence of this phenomenon during adolescence. To address this gap we conducted a crosssectional study of 702 Chinese adolescents to examine the association between emotional awareness and relational aggression, and the moderating effect of Machiavellianism. Our results revealed that there was a significant correlation between emotional awareness and relational aggression, and that Machiavellianism moderated this relationship. Specifically, we found that emotional awareness was a stronger negative predictor of relational aggression at low versus high levels of Machiavellianism. These findings provide new insight into potential strategies for reducing adolescent relational aggression.

We examined the impact of locus of control on coping style, with a primary focus on confirmation of the mediating role of self-efficacy, among a sample of 421 junior high school students. Participants completed the Nowicki-Strickland Internal-External Locus of Control Scale, the General Self-Efficacy Scale, and the Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire. The results revealed that both locus of control and self-efficacy were significantly correlated with coping style. Structural equation modeling indicated that self-efficacy partially mediated the effect of locus of control on coping style. These findings extend prior research and shed light on how locus of control influences coping style.

Influence of employees' perception of digital transformation meaning on work engagement and well-being 员工数字化转型意义感知对工作投入和幸福感的影响

Applying the perspective of sensemaking, in this study we examined the multiple mediating effects of employees??? supportive intention for digital transformation and work engagement in the relationship between their perception of meaning in the digital transformation and their workplace wellbeing. Data were collected in two waves from a sample of 213 knowledgebased employees of a high-technology company located in southern China. The results showed that perceived digital transformation meaning enhanced employees??? workplace well-being through motivating digital transformation supportive intention and work engagement. Digital transformation supportive intention and work engagement played a chain mediating effect between perceived digital transformation meaning and workplace well-being. These findings contribute to understanding of how perceived digital transformation meaning positively affects employees??? work outcomes.
