Objective: to analyze the effectiveness of peripherally inserted central catheter insertion techniques in preventing the occurrence of complications related to this device in newborns.
Method: a paired and network systematic literature review and meta-analysis, with its search carried out in seven databases and in the Grey Literature, including randomized and non-randomized clinical trials. The risk of bias was assessed using the Cochrane Risk of Bias 2 and Risk of Bias In Non-randomized Studies of Interventions tools. Certainty of the evidence was assessed by means of the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation. A meta-analysis was carried out with the aid of the R statistical program.
Results: eight studies with 1,126 newborns were included and six insertion techniques were identified: intracavitary electrocardiogram; intracavitary electrocardiogram associated with ultrasound; ultrasound; formula; anatomical landmark; and modified anatomical landmark. Five techniques significantly decreased primary tip malpositioning when compared to the control ( p <0.05). Intracavitary electrocardiogram significantly and more effectively reduced arrhythmias, general complications and phlebitis; the technique that used a formula also reduced general complications. Infection, infiltration, secondary tip malpositioning, catheter rupture, thrombosis, occlusion and catheter-associated skin lesion were not significantly preventable events.
Conclusion: intracavitary electrocardiogram and use of the formula were the most effective techniques in reducing complications.

Objective: to describe the development of a predictive nursing workload classifier model, using artificial intelligence.
Method: retrospective observational study, using secondary sources of electronic patient records, using machine learning. The convenience sample consisted of 43,871 assessments carried out by clinical nurses using the Perroca Patient Classification System, which served as the gold standard, and clinical data from the electronic medical records of 11,774 patients, which constituted the variables. In order to organize the data and carry out the analysis, the Dataiku® data science platform was used. Data analysis occurred in an exploratory, descriptive and predictive manner. The study was approved by the Ethics and Research Committee of the institution where the study was carried out.
Results: the use of artificial intelligence enabled the development of the nursing workload assessment classifier model, identifying the variables that most contributed to its prediction. The algorithm correctly classified 72% of the variables and the area under the Receiver Operating Characteristic curve was 82%.
Conclusion: a predictive model was developed, demonstrating that it is possible to train algorithms with data from the patient's electronic medical record to predict the nursing workload and that artificial intelligence tools can be effective in automating this activity.

Objective: to evaluate the level of cultural competence of an undergraduate nursing students' population from four European higher education institutions.
Method: a total of 168 nursing students from four different countries were included in our study. The study methodology involved a cross-sectional assessment of cultural competence among undergraduate nursing students from four European universities. Data collection included sociodemographic variables, as well as the following validated tools: the Intercultural Sensitivity Scale, the Cultural Competence Assessment Tool (student version) and the Cultural Awareness Scale.
Results: our results indicated that students demonstrated a high level of intercultural sensitivity but a moderate level of cultural competence and cultural awareness. Variations existed among students from different countries, suggesting potential differences in educational approaches. Despite expectations that higher-level students would exhibit greater cultural competence, no significant differences were found by year of study, indicating a lack of effective integration of cultural competence into nursing curricula.
Conclusion: nurse educators should consider the students' cultural competence before designing related study programmes. Training programmes related to cultural competence should include elements which have been associated with enhanced cultural competence, including language skills, cultural encounter, and opportunities for internationalisation.

Objective: to analyze the integrity of N95/PFF2 masks in relation to fiber morphology, porosity, cracks and micro holes, as well as identify visible damage to their structure and components, after seven- and fifteen-day reuse protocols.
Method: cross-sectional study. Structural and morphological characteristics of a new N95/PFF2 mask were analyzed in comparison with N95/PFF2 masks (n=10) used in seven- and fifteen-day protocols, through visual inspection and scanning electron microscopy.
Results: upon visual inspection, following the seven-day protocol, 40% and 60% of the N95/PFF2 masks showed, respectively, personal identification marks and external and internal dirt. Additionally, 20% exhibited loosening and/or tearing of the straps, while 100% showed some type of damage to the nose clips. In the fifteen-day protocol, all N95/PFF2 masks had dirt, loose straps and damaged nose clips, and 80% had folds. Electronic microscopy revealed an increase in pores and loosening in the weaves from seven days onwards, extending up to fifteen days, with the presence of micro holes and residues.
Conclusion: the reuse of N95/PFF2 masks affects their structural and morphological integrity. It is crucial to carry out tests to measure the impact of this practice on the safety of health professionals.

Objective: to analyze exposure to ergonomic risks and the occurrence of musculoskeletal pain in workers in the Hospital Cleaning Service.
Method: Convergent Care Research, with data production designed using mixed methods, implemented with 149 hospital cleaning workers. The methodological strategy of the convergent parallel project was employed, using observation, photographic records, questionnaires and convergence groups. The results were integrated through joint display. Data analysis with descriptive and inferential statistics and content analysis.
Results: the mixing of data highlighted the multifactorial nature of exposure to ergonomic risks (uncomfortable work postures; repetitive movements; prolonged orthostatism; use of equipment not adapted to the psychophysiological needs of workers) and musculoskeletal pain in the population investigated. The latter was prevalent in the lumbar spine, ankles or feet, wrists or hands, thoracic spine and shoulders. The concept of ergonomic risk was expanded and was influenced by the psychosocial aspects of work.
Conclusion: the workers investigated are exposed to modifiable multifactorial ergonomic risks related to musculoskeletal pain. It is possible to promote innovations and teaching-learning actions to minimize them, such as the continuing education program, collectively constructed with recommendations for improvements.

Objectives: to develop a serious game in a mobile application for learning about safe sex and contraception with the active participation of adolescents; and evaluate the content, appearance and usability of the technology with adolescents and experts.
Method: this is an applied research project into the development of a serious game, carried out in two stages: development of the technology itself; and evaluation of the content, appearance and usability of the application. Teenagers from a public school in the city of São Paulo-Brazil took part in the technology development stage. The evaluation was carried out by the adolescents and experts in the areas of public health and health technology. The following criteria were used: educational aspects, environment interface and didactic resources.
Results: Prinventon App ® was developed, a serious game set in a virtual city, designed to address adolescent sexuality. The app received 90% positive responses and had a Content Validity Index of 0.80, which was considered adequate. The suggestions and notes were accepted and implemented. The serious game was considered interesting and important in terms of the subject matter.
Conclusion: it was found that the technology developed can help adolescents learn about safe sex and contraception, by addressing sexuality in adolescence in a playful and realistic way.
