to map studies that have developed evaluation processes of prevention programs for the use of alcohol and other drugs in Brazil, analyzing their methodological characteristics.
a scoping review guided by the Joanna Briggs Institute Manual and the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews. The searches were carried out in eight databases and a theses and dissertations database, screened with double-blind in Rayyan®, analyzed with a focus on the methodology of the evaluative studies and through qualitative synthesis.
of the 56 publications included, the majority used an observational design, generally related to process evaluations (n = 26), followed by experimental (n = 23) and quasi-experimental (n = 8) analyses of results in terms of effectiveness and efficacy, respectively. Of the eleven actions analyzed, eight are universal prevention programs, one is selective prevention and two are a preventive strategy.
most of the programs evaluated are universal, aimed at adolescents, carried out in schools and focused on various drugs. It is recommended to focus on new groups, such as Indigenous populations and other risk conditions, and to develop selective programs in future government initiatives to prevent drug use in Brazil.

to characterize and describe the spatial and temporal distribution of nursing care establishments in Brazil according to the National Registry of Health Establishments.
ecological study, using secondary data from the National Register of Health Establishments, aggregated by year, state and region. The variables extracted were: year of registration, gender of the nurse manager or administrator, number of nurses per establishment, type of establishment, main activity, level of care, legal nature and agreement. Descriptive statistics and temporal analysis were carried out using the Jointpoint program.
between 2003 and 2023, 340 nursing establishments were found with active registrations. The South and Southeast concentrated most of the establishments. There was a predominance of practices, specialized clinics and home care services. The temporal analysis indicated that between 2003 and 2021, there was an annual growth of 30.07% (p= 0.00). Considering the total period (2003-2023), there was an annual growth of 25.01%, indicating an upward trend in businesses over the years.
formalization and registration reflect the professionalization of nursing management. There has been an increase in registrations following the publication of resolutions by the Federal Nursing Council that support autonomous and/or liberal practice.

to synthesize the scientific evidence on the effectiveness of telemedicine-based interventions in improving health-related quality of life and self-management of patients with heart disease.
systematic review of effectiveness, following the recommendations of the Joanna Briggs Institute and the reporting guideline Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Checklist. The search was conducted in six databases: Cochrane Library, Virtual Health Library, PubMed, CINAHL, Web of Science Core Collection and Scopus, without period restriction, in English, Portuguese or Spanish. The methodological quality and risk of bias of the studies were assessed using the JBI critical appraisal tool and the certainty of the evidence was classified using the GRADE tool.
of the 44 randomized clinical trials included, the main interventions analyzed were telemonitoring, telephone contact and telerehabilitation. Out of the studies evaluated, 88.63% demonstrated an improvement in health-related quality of life, with 45.45% of these showing a statistically significant difference.
telemedicine shows promise as a valuable tool for the care and self-management of individuals with cardiac conditions. However, further studies are needed to confirm its effectiveness and impact on health outcomes.

to map scientific knowledge on the dimensions of the Social Determinants of Health in the health of children born preterm in the first two years of life.
this is a scoping review guided by the Joanna Briggs Institute and the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews. From the studies found in five databases and the reference list of those selected, data was extracted using a coding tool based on the Social Determinants of Health theoretical model with the support of the MaxQDA software.
31 publications were included. The most investigated dimensions of the social determinants of children's health were related to the characteristics of the individual, with emphasis on health conditions and age, sex, and hereditary factors, highlighting the search for factors that have a direct impact on children's health.
the dimensions of child health most explored were those related to child development. Behavior and living conditions were little investigated. Future studies with a broader approach to the Social Determinants of Health in an integrated way could contribute to the development of care centered on premature infants and early interventions concerning child health outcomes.

this scoping review aims to search the literature about conducting research on pregnant women during outbreaks globally and synthesize the findings to identify themes, analyze knowledge gaps, and provide evidence-based recommendations to inform future research.
a comprehensive literature search was conducted in November 2023 using PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, Web of Science, Scopus, and Global Health databases. Key terms included "pregnancy," "disease outbreaks," "biomedical research," and "eligibility criteria." Twenty-three articles published between 2017 and 2023 were included in the synthesis.
this review identified a pattern of exclusion of pregnant women from research during multiple disease outbreaks across diverse regions. The exclusion rates ranged from 52% to 97.8%. Ethical and moral concerns were raised, emphasizing the need for a shift toward the presumptive inclusion of pregnant women in research. Recommendations emerged from discussions on the risks and benefits of research participation, global institutional and strategic changes, and the standardized collection of pregnancy-specific data to inform public health responses.
this scoping review highlights the systemic exclusion of pregnant women from research during disease outbreaks, underscoring ethical concerns, critical knowledge gaps, and structural barriers while providing a foundation for advancing maternal health research during public health emergencies.

to evaluate the effectiveness of an educational intervention with hospital cleaning and sanitizing workers in protecting against injuries caused by biological agents.
this was a prospective, quasi-experimental, before-and-after study with a single group, analyzing workers' behavior regarding adherence to standard precautions. Data was collected from 106 cleaning and sanitizing workers through a demographic and occupational questionnaire and a knowledge and behavioral survey on preventing diseases caused by biological agents. Participants' behavior related to biosafety was observed before and after the educational intervention. Descriptive and inferential statistical analysis.
77.4% of the workers are female and approximately 42% have worked for up to a year. As for the level of education, 39.6% had completed high school and 29.2% had incomplete primary education. The median score for adherence to standard precautions: pre-intervention 14 points and post-intervention 17 points. Among the observations before dressing, adherence to hand hygiene with soap and water rose from 41.7% to 75.0% after the intervention.
the educational intervention, based on theoretical-practical workshops and active methodologies, improved adherence to biosafety practices, as evidenced by both reported behavior and direct observation. The leadership and commitment of hospital managers are crucial for the continuity of education and biosafety practices, ensuring the safety of professionals and patients. Future studies should focus on the health of hospital cleaning and sanitizing workers, including educational programs and the relationship between their activities and patient safety against infections in healthcare services.
