This study adopts the scope review method to search for relevant studies on non-native speakers' motivation to learn Chinese in the SSCI, CSSCI and Peking University Core Thesis Database, and combs and analyses the obtained literature from the perspectives of general trend, research object, research method and research content, pointing out the deficiencies of the current studies and suggesting suggestions for the future researches. The results of the analysis show that although the number of studies in this field is relatively abundant, the scope of research objects is narrow, the breadth of research perspectives is insufficient, the research method is relatively single, and there are certain research gap areas. Based on the above findings, the author makes corresponding suggestions for future research.

In 2020, the global sanitary crisis of COVID-19 prompted us to search for strategies to keep communicating in all areas of society. The education domain had to adapt and quickly made a significant shift towards digital interactions to facilitate instructional delivery for teaching and learning. This qualitative case study aimed at exploring the perceptions and most challenging facts associated with an Online education model applied to core courses in an ELT program at a Colombian university. Data from surveys interviews and focus groups applied to 115 learners and 20 teachers suggested that despite the benefits regarding authentic materials for language learners, constraints related to learners connectivity, teachers-students interaction, social presence, motivation, evaluation, and the delivery of feedback were the most challenging situations. The overview portrayed in this study will facilitate comprehension of the learning and teaching issues presented during Covid 19 pandemic and will raise awareness of new perspectives for further online instruction.

The study of exhibitionism among the youths, especially adolescents, has been a major concern of parents, school administrators, counsellors, and society. Hence, the study investigated the effectiveness of the Cognitive Restructuring Technique (CRT) in managing exhibitionism among female adolescents in Lagos State. The study adopted a pre-test, post-test, and control group quasi-experimental design with a 2 x 2 factional matrix. The researcher utilized a multi-stage simple random sampling technique to select participants for the study. A sample size of 60 participants was drawn from two educational districts in Lagos State. The training programme lasted for eight weeks. The two validated instruments used for data collection were Adolescent Exhibitionism Scales (AES) r 0.64 and Social Economic Status Scales (SESS) r = 0.87. Two hypotheses were formulated and tested at a 0.05 level of significance. The two hypotheses were rejected. Data were analyzed using the analysis of Covariance and t-test. The findings discovered that Cognitive Restructuring therapy is very effective in curbing exhibitionism, the findings also imply that socioeconomic status has implications on the manifestation of exhibitionism behaviour of the participants. Based on the findings, it was suggested that conscious efforts be made by school counsellors, school administrators, parents, and other stakeholders to adopt (CRT) when handling adolescents with behavioural problems such as exhibitionism, as this would reduce deviant behaviour in adolescents.

This research delves into the intricacies of part-time employment among university students, exploring the various dimensions of their engagement with work alongside their academic endeavors. Employing a mixed-methods approach that includes surveys and interviews, the study investigates students’ motivations, the nature of their part-time jobs, the benefits and challenges they encounter, and the strategies they employ to balance work with their studies. The analysis provides a deeper understanding of how part-time employment influences students’ academic performance, skill development, and personal growth. The findings highlight the dual role of part-time work in offering practical experience and financial support while also presenting potential challenges to academic commitments. This study contributes valuable insights into the strategies that can optimize the balance between work and education, enhancing students’ overall development and readiness for their future careers.

The course “Fundamental Principles of Engineering Structures” is one of the compulsory courses for undergraduate students majoring in civil engineering, structural engineering, and bridge engineering. It mainly introduces the basic concepts, principles, and design methods of engineering structures. The course’s emphasis lies in the integration of theory and practice, aiming to enable students to acquire fundamental theoretical knowledge of engineering structures in the classroom and to consolidate this knowledge through practical activities such as experiments and design, thereby enhancing their comprehensive abilities. Therefore, the teaching reform of the course on fundamental principles of engineering structures should start with improving students’ practical abilities and strive to achieve organic integration of theory and practice. This paper explores how the teaching reform of the course should be conducted against the backdrop of course ideological and political education, mainly focusing on the integration of school-enterprise cooperation and production-education integration. Firstly, the author analyzes the current issues and challenges from the perspectives of school-enterprise cooperation and production-education integration, and then proposes corresponding measures for the reform of course teaching, including establishing a curriculum system in line with modern engineering practices, fully leveraging the role of teaching design, and stimulating students’ interest in learning, among others. It is hoped that this research can provide some reference and inspiration for developing relevant teaching reforms in the course of fundamental principles of engineering structures.
