In the context of modern educational development, exploring effective teaching methods to cultivate preschool education talents with comprehensive qualities is particularly important. This study aims to explore the application and effects of integrating the BOPPPS teaching model with Ideological and Political Education in the teaching of preschool hygiene. Through a combination of literature review and empirical research, we adopted a teaching design that integrates the BOPPPS model with Ideological and Political Education and implemented a teaching experiment. After the course ended, the experimental group's final total scores and practical assessment scores were significantly better than the control group, and the scores for humanistic care were also significantly better than the control group, with differences being statistically significant. The questionnaire on the effectiveness of Ideological and Political Education showed positive results. The results indicate that combining the BOPPPS teaching model with Ideological and Political Education helps improve students' academic performance and enhances teaching effectiveness. Its application in the teaching of preschool hygiene has proven feasible, providing an innovative teaching strategy for preschool hygiene education.

Through reflecting on the case practice of an adolescent with intellectual disability, the article explores how social workers should use their professional skills to intervene in the behavioural deviation of adolescents with intellectual disability under the cognitive-behavioural therapy model. In designing and implementing services, the primary intervention goal of social workers is to help adolescents with intellectual disabilities to correct their misperceptions in personal behaviour, family relationships and social interactions, so as to enable them to have a correct understanding of themselves and to promote the healthy growth of adolescents with intellectual disabilities.

This proceeding includes original and peer-reviewed research papers from the 5th International Conference on Education, Sport and Psychological Studies (ESPS 2024) held on May 25-26, 2024 in Hong Kong, China. The aim of the conference is to provide an interactive platform for the academicians, R & D organizations, industries, innovators, entrepreneurs, government agencies and policy-makers etc., from both China and abroad to exchange ideas on recent researches and advances in the domain of Education, Sport and Psychological Studies with its prospective application in the various interdisciplinary domains of engineering. This two-day conference is being organized online in technical association with Research Center of Engineering and Science and will include invited keynote talks and oral paper presentations from both academia and industry to ignite our young minds, to initiate them in the field of meaningful research and thereby enrich their existing knowledge. By submitting a paper to ESPS 2024, the authors agreed to the review process and understood that papers undergo a peer-review process. Manuscripts were reviewed by appropriately qualified experts in the field selected by the Conference Committee, who gave detailed comments and-if the submission was accepted the authors would submit a revised version that considered this feedback. All papers were reviewed using a double-blind review process: authors declared their names and affiliations in the manuscript for the reviewers to see, but reviewers did not know each other’s identities, nor did the authors receive information about who had reviewed their manuscript. While many studies have examined students' participation in English debates with a focus on their development of English argumentation skills, second language (L2) learners' engagement with English debates has yet to be explored. Informed by a tripartite model on learner engagement, this study employed a case study involving four Chinese L2 learners to explore how they cognitively, behaviourally, and affectively engaged with English debates. Data was collected from multiple sources, including semi-structured interviews with students, notes taken in the debate classes, and class observations. Iterative analysis of the data revealed different patterns of learner engagement at all three dimensions among the four participants. It was also found that multiple factors, including their understanding of argumentation skills, self-evaluation of their language proficiency, their learning attitudes, and the instructor's teaching methods, played a role in their engagement with English debates. The findings suggest that teachers need to consider individual students' attitudes, beliefs, and L2 proficiency and provide explicit instruction on argumentation skills to enhance their engagement with English debate.

The comparative study of Logos in the West and Dao in China has never stopped in academic circles. In a sense, Heraclitus' Logos and Laozi's Dao, which came into being in the same axial era, can be regarded as the starting point of Chinese and western philosophy respectively. They are similar in meaning, both of which are constant and contain Dialectic, But whether viewed from the perspective of ontology or epistemology, the differences between them are extremely obvious. This paper intends to make a comparison between Dao and Logos from the different aspects of Chinese and Western ontology, and point out the differences between them from the purpose and way of cognition, as well as the value orientation and development path in the process of cognition. Clarifying this problem will not only help us to deepen our understanding of Logos and Dao, but also help the academic community to deeply explore why the starting points of Chinese and Western philosophy are very similar but have completely different cultural paths.
