This paper explores the pivotal role of English language support programs in shaping the international academic mobility experiences of university students at Shandong College of Economics and Business, China. Conducting a quantitative study involving 150 participants engaged in international academic mobility, the research investigates the impact of language support initiatives, identifies challenges faced by students, and gathers suggestions for program improvement. Results reveal significant improvements in English language proficiency, academic performance, and overall satisfaction among participants. Challenges encountered, including language barriers, cultural adjustment, academic rigor, and social integration, underscore the complexities of global academic experiences. Participants' suggestions for program improvement, emphasizing increased language practice opportunities, enhanced cultural preparation, additional academic support, and more social events, provide actionable insights for program refinement. Critical thinking is a key component of essential literacy skills, and it plays a crucial role in students' learning and development. Research shows that emotions have a significant influence on individual thinking activities, and they are important non-intellectual factors in developing students' critical thinking. Up to now, research scholars at home and abroad have conducted a lot of empirical studies to explore the possible relationship between the two variables. However, there is still a lack of research to systematically provide a holistic view. The current study is trying to present a comprehensive network of critical thinking and emotions through the discussion on the four-aspect correlation, that is, the correlation between critical thinking and negative emotion, critical thinking and emotional intelligence, critical thinking, emotion and academic achievement, and critical thinking, emotion and psychological cognition. The study also puts forward the limitations of the current research from the perspectives of research methods, research objects, and research contents, as well as the prospect of future research.

The universalization of higher education in China has undergone a remarkable transformation driven by government policies and rapid economic growth. This study explores the characteristics and future development of this educational evolution. China's journey towards universalization began with ambitious policy initiatives in 1998, aiming to expand access to higher education. Within a mere 17 years, the gross enrollment rate in higher education surged from 9.8% to an impressive 50%, surpassing the United States' 30-year path to universality. This rapid expansion, fueled by a burgeoning economy, has raised questions about educational quality and employability. New universities have played a crucial role, expanding access and optimizing the higher education structure. However, they face challenges due to their short history and limited resources. The study also emphasizes the need for a balanced regional framework and an education model aligning with sustainable development goals. China's experience in universalizing higher education provides valuable insights for global educational development. This transformation serves as a noteworthy case study, highlighting the importance of balancing quantity and quality in higher education expansion and providing lessons for educational development worldwide.
