Padang: Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang, Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Inggris, Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni, Universitas Negeri Padang.            Penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui bentuk, jenis dan penyebab kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa tahun masuk 2017 dalam penggunaan kata kerja bentuk futsukei Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang Universitas Negeri Padang. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah lembaran teks sakubun mahasiswa. Diantara 60 sakubun analisis data yang ditemukan hanya 25 kesalahan.            Berdasarkan hasil penelitian kesalahan penggunaan kata kerja bentuk futsukei dalam sakubun mahasiswa diketahui bahawa kesalahan morfologi merupakan kesalahan tertinggi dengan persentase 44%, sedangkan kesalahan terendah terdapat pada faktor kompetensi sebanyak 16%.Kata Kunci: futsukei, sakubun

Students' Paraphrased Texts and Their Perceptions of Paraphrasing in Academic Writing 学生的意译文本及其对学术写作中意译的认知

This descriptive qualitative study aims to investigate students’ paraphrased texts based on Keck’s Paraphrase Taxonomy (2006) and on McInnis’ level of paraphrase appropriateness (2009), and to explore their perceptions toward paraphrasing. Fifty nine students from English Language Education Study Program of UNP academic year 2017 were selected to participate in this study and were committed to do a paraphrasing task expecting them to paraphrase 4 separate sentences of one author.

Language Clubs and Pedagogical Approach to Teach English: University of Parakou English Club case 语言俱乐部与英语教学方法——以帕拉口大学英语俱乐部为例

This study aims at highlighting the English club as a tool for learners in  need of  English as a foreign language through which they practice and improve fluency. We use participative and consultative methods by means of questionnaire, interviews and Focus Group Discussion administration to stakeholders. Participants are four secondary schools, two private universities and one public University: 26 students, 10 administratives and 16 English teachers.  The data was analyzed via descriptive statistics. Results indicated that most existing English clubs in the community contributed significantly to learners’ language fluency improvement and consequently to updating state of teachers and other actors. The more university of Parakou English Club members (UNIPAREC) participated to activities, the more they became fluent in English. The findings suggest pedagogical means to UNIPAREC for all categories of actors in the manipulation of the English language.
本研究旨在强调英语俱乐部是需要将英语作为外语的学习者练习和提高流利性的工具。我们采用参与式和咨询式的方法,通过问卷调查、访谈和对利益相关者的焦点小组讨论管理。参与者包括四所中学、两所私立大学和一所公立大学:26名学生、10名行政人员和16名英语教师。数据通过描述性统计进行分析。结果表明,社区中大多数现有的英语俱乐部对学习者的语言流利性提高做出了显著贡献,从而更新了教师和其他参与者的状态。帕拉库大学英语俱乐部(UNIPAREC)成员参加的活动越多,他们的英语就越流利。研究结果表明,UNIPAREC对操纵英语的所有类别的参与者都有教学手段。

Higher Order Thinking Skills dalam Pembelajaran Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia di Sekolah Menengah Pertama Kota Madiun 语言学习中的高阶思维技巧与印尼萨斯特拉中学

The purpose of this study is to (1) describe the understanding of junior high school teachers in Madiun regarding Higher Order Thinking Skills; (2) describe the teacher’s understanding of Higher Order Thinking Skills in learning Indonesian language and literature. The research method is in the form of a qualitative descriptive case study tecnique. Sources of data in the form of informants junior high school teachers in Madiun and questionnaires. There are a number of 25 junior high school teachers to be informants in this study. Questionnaires are distributed to teachers’ understanding of Higher Order Thinking Skills. Data collection techniques with informant interviews and questionnaire analysis. Data validity techniques through triangulation of data sources. Data analysis techniques with the interactive model analysis of Miles and Hubermann with the steps of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of preliminary research shows that 88,25% of teachers understood Higher Order Thinking Skills as a theory, but in the Higher Order Thinking Skills application they still did not understand them. In the next reseach stage, 87% of teachers can apply Higher Order Thinking Skills in making lesson plans, 87,3% of teachers are compile questions based on Higher Order Thinking Skills. So 87,5% junior high school teachers in Madiun city can understand and appy HOTS in language learning and Indonesian literature.
本研究的目的是:(1)描述马甸初中教师对高阶思维技能的理解;(2)描述教师在学习印尼语言和文学时对高阶思维技能的理解。研究方法采用定性描述性案例研究技术的形式。数据来源采用马迪市初中教师举报人和问卷调查的形式。本研究选取了25名初中教师作为调查对象。对教师对高阶思维技能的理解情况进行问卷调查。数据收集技术与举报人访谈和问卷分析。通过数据源三角测量的数据有效性技术。Miles和Hubermann的交互式模型分析数据分析技术,包括数据简化、数据呈现和得出结论的步骤。初步研究结果表明,88.25%的教师将高阶思维技能作为一种理论理解,但在高阶思维技能的应用中仍不理解。在下一研究阶段,87%的教师能够运用高阶思维技能制定教案,87.3%的教师基于高阶思维技能编写问题。因此,马迪云市86.7%的初中教师能够理解并喜欢语言学习和印尼文学中的HOTS。

Problem Solving on English Verbal Sentence Formation for University Students 大学生英语动词造句的问题解决

This is a preliminary research on problem solving on English verbal sentence formation for university students. Specifically, the problem is on the usage of auxiliary verbs in making sentences. This problem is met up with a new paradigm (pattern) in which the pattern is mapped out with keywords. Keywords are purposed to ease the students in applying auxiliary verbs when they are making English sentences. The new pattern is tested by a test before and after the introduction of the new pattern and by interviewing ten students to know their opinion about the benefit of the new pattern. The result shows that there is a significant decrease of errors made by the students after the introduction of the new pattern. The decrease achieves 49%. Furthermore, the whole interviewees’ responses show that the new pattern really helps them in making English sentence properly.
这是对大学生英语口语造句问题解决的初步研究。具体来说,问题在于助动词在造句中的用法。这个问题遇到了一个新的范式(模式),其中模式是用关键字映射出来的。关键词是为了帮助学生在造句时使用助动词。在引入新模式前后进行测试,并采访十名学生,了解他们对新模式益处的看法。结果表明,引入新模式后,学生犯下的错误显著减少。降幅达到49%。此外,整个受访者的回答表明,新模式确实有助于他们正确地造句。

Exploring Verbal Interaction of Non Language Subject Classroom 探究非语言学科课堂的言语互动

Given the important role of verbal interaction in teaching and learning process and shaping students’ attitude have been the subject of interest of several researchers. The aim of the study was to explore the pattern of verbal Interaction of non language subject at one of the fledgling international standard schools (FISS) in Padang. The site of the  study is  SMA 1 Padang. Participants of the research were 2 Physics teachers along with their students. Data of this study were drawn from direct classroom observation, and intensive interview; and these data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The result of study reveals that the highest occurrences of teacher-students interactions patterns are Explanation (E), Asking Question (AQ), and the category of Accept and Used of idea of Pupils (AUIP). Meanwhile, students-teacher interaction consisted of three categories, namely Classical Response (CR), Individual Response (IR), and student initiation (SI). Classical response was found to be the highest occurrence. It indicated that the teacher was still dominated the classroom interaction that needs to be shifted to students-oriented.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada korelasi atau tidak ada korelasi yang signifikan antara kebiasaan mahasiswa menonton dorama dengan kemampuan goi (kosakata bahasa Jepang) mereka. Desain penelitian ini adalah desain korelasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa tahun masuk 2018 Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang Universitas Negeri Padang. Jumlah total populasi adalah 65 orang. Sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, yaitu kelas JPG 2 yang berjumlah 32 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan angket untuk mengetahui kebiasaan menonton dorama mahasiswa dan uji kosakata untuk mengetahui kemampuan goi mahasiswa. Ada tiga rumusan masalah yang harus dijawab pada penelitian ini. Hasil dari rumusan masalah pertama adalah nilai rata-rata angket kebiasaan menonton dorama adalah 62,54. Hasil dari rumusan masalah kedua adalah kemampuan goi mahasiswa mendapat nilai rata-rata 73,44. Hasil perhitungan rumusan masalah yang ketiga adalah nilai korelasi dari dua variabel; kebiasaan menonton dorama dan kemampuan goi adalah 0,891. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima, itu berarti ada korelasi yang signifikan antara kebiasaan menonton dorama dengan kemampuan goi mahasiswa. Hasil dari rumusan masalah kedua adalah kemampuan goi mahasiswa mendapat nilai rata-rata 73,44. Hasil perhitungan rumusan masalah yang ketiga adalah nilai korelasi dari dua variabel; kebiasaan menonton dorama dan kemampuan goi adalah 0,891. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima, itu berarti ada korelasi yang signifikan antara kebiasaan menonton dorama dengan kemampuan goi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh banyaknya kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa dalam penggunaan kalimat pasif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk kesalahan, jenis kesalahan dan penyebab kesalahan penggunaan kalimat pasif dalam tes bunpou mahasiswa tahun masuk 2017 pendidikan bahasa Jepang Universitas Negeri Padang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan analisis data kualitatif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa JPG 2 tahun masuk 2017 yang berjumlah 31 orang. Data penelitian ini adalah hasil tes bunpou dengan menggunakan instrumen tes bentuk objektif. Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian, terdapat bentuk kesalahan morfologi sebesar 28% dan pada bentuk kesalahan sintaksis sebesar 34%. Kemudian terdapat jenis kesalahan lapses sebesar 5.4% dan pada jenis kesalahan mistake sebesar 5%. Dan pada penyebab kesalahan yang disebabkan oleh interferensi bahasa ibu ditemukan kesalahan sebesar 9%, pada faktor performansi 7%, faktor kompetensi sebesar 55.4% dan pada faktor generalisasi sebesar 31.4%.

TONE TEACHING PLAN DESIGNED FOR INDONESIAN CHINESE BEGINNERS 专为印尼语汉语初学者设计的声调教学计划

Chinese is a tonal language, and Chinese tones can differentiate meanings of Chinese characters. In contrast, Indonesian is a language without tones, which explains why Indonesians have trouble acquiring tones when beginning to learn Chinese. Having recognized the importance of Chinese tones in teaching Indonesian beginners Chinese, we propose in this article a tone teaching plan designed for Indonesian Chinese beginners based on detailed analysis of previous research. The plan was tested at the Pahoa School in Tangerang District, Jakarta, Indonesia. The participants were 74 middle school students who had never learnt Chinese before. After the experiment, the questionnaires were used to collect data. It was found that this teaching plan was effective. In terms of mono-syllable adjustment, most students can make four tones of Chinese, especially rising tones and falling-rising tones; In terms of bisyllable tone sandhi, most students can master the law of tone change. However, this teaching plan also has some shortcomings. For example, the forms of tone teaching and training are not diversified; the design of the neutral tones teaching is not comprehensive enough; and the distribution of tone teaching items is uneven. These drawbacks can be further improved in future research.

STUDENTS’ VISUALIZATION IN READING AND THEIR COGNITIVE LEARNING STYLES 学生阅读形象化与认知学习风格

Empirically visualizing the text being read into pictures, diagrams, or images evidently deepens students’ reading comprehension. Given the evidence of its significance, this study is intended to figure out the impact of visualizing the text on the students’ reading comprehension observed from the students’ cognitive learning styles namely field independent (FI) and field dependent (FD). Due to its purpose, the experimental study, quasy-experimental research to be specific, was carried out. Fifty four fifth-semester students at Universitas Negeri Malang participated in this study. The findings were shockingly contradictory with the empirical evidence provided in previous studies. It is revealed that visualization strategy was proven to be ineffective in enhancing students’ reading comprehension on account for some factors. Besides, the mean score of FI students in experimental group was slightly above FD students’. Again, the difference is empirically proven to be insignificant.
