This paper aims to expose aspects and shapes of iconic meanings of flora names in Dipasena as the shrimp aquaculture area and describe the relationship between the shape and meaning of its icon. This type of research is naturalistic qualitative. The results of the study include the following things. (1) rubber tree-fire gum has a similarity with the flame. (2) The Berembang tree has fruit that is shaped like a flagpole or the dome of the mosque. (3) The characteristic of Waru doyong tree trunk that tends to grow inclined is likened to the meaning of the term doyong in bahasa Indonesia. (4) The shape of the leaf perumpungan similar to the shape of small sheep ears. (5) There is a similarity of sound between the name of the Pletekan flower with the sound produced by the eruption of the fruit. (6) There is a similarity between banana Muli and muli (girl in bahasa Lampung). (7) There are similarities of silk moss with silk yarn. (8) There is a similarity between intestinal moss and chicken intestines. From the results of the study can be concluded that the names of the flora have an iconic meaning and not arbitrary.

A research is entitled The Types and Functions of Prepositions in P.S. I Love You movie by Richard LaGravenese. This paper is intended to analyze the types of prepositions and the functions of prepositions. The writer uses descriptive method to establish this research. The aims of the research are to know the types of preposition and to identify the preposition functions which are used in P.S. I Love You movie. The result of the research shows the types of prepositions that appear in the movie are the preposition of time, preposition of place, preposition of manner, and preposition of direction. Meanwhile, the functions of prepositions that appear in P.S. I Love You movie are the function as head of prepositional phrases, noun phrase modifier, noun phrase complement, adjunct and adverbial, and the fuction as particle.

There have been a considerable number of studies of fallacy concerning with presidential debates in Western countries particularly on American presidential debates. However, the study is still rarely concerned with presidential debates in Eastern countries particularly Indonesia. Therefore, this study attempted to find the types of logical fallacies on Indonesian presidential debates committed especially by one of the presidential candidates, Prabowo Subianto, during 2019 Indonesian presidential debates. The data are utterences containing logical fallacies and the source of the data is the transcripts of four debate videos. The theory of fallacy classification by Damer (2009) was employed in this research. There were thirteen types of fallacies found in this research. The most dominant one was the fallacy of false alternatives with the percentage of 31.25%, and followed by the fallacy of drawing the wrong conclusion and appeal to irrelevant authority with the percentage of 15.62% and 9.37% respectively.

Penelitian ini membahas tentang analisis kesalahan shiekiebun mahasiswa tahun masuk 2017 program studi pendidikan bahasa Jepang Universitas Negeri Padang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bentuk kesalahan, jenis kesalahan, dan penyebab kesalahan penggunaan shiekibun padamahasiswa tahun masuk 2017 program studi pendidikan bahasa Jepang Universitas Negeri Padang. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa tahun masuk 2017 Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang Universitas Negeri Padang yang berjumlah 56 orang. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 30 orang. Data penelitian ini adalah nilai tes kesalahan shiekiebun mahasiswa tahun masuk 2017 program studi pendidikan bahasa Jepang Universitas Negeri Padang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilaksanakan dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat bentuk kesalahan morfologi sebesar 40,2%, dan pada bentuk kesalahan sintaksis sebesar 59,8%. Kemudian terdapat jenis kesalahan lapses sebesar 53,8%, dan Mistake sebesar 46,2%. Dan pada penyebab kesalahan yang disebabkan oleh faktor performansi 23,8%, faktor kompetensi sebesar 70,7%, dan faktor generalisasi sebesar 5,5%.Kata kunci: Analisis Kesalahan, shiekiebun

Abstract This study discusses the mastery of Shiekibun in 2017 students of Japanese language study programs at Padang State University. The purpose of this study was to determine the Shiekibun mastery of 2017 students entering the Japanese Language Study Program at Padang State University. This type of research used in this research is quantitative research with descriptive methods. The population in this study were students entering 2017 Japanese Language Education Study Program, Padang State University, amounting to 56 people. The sample in this study amounted to 30 people. The data of this study are the Shiekibun mastery test scores for 2017 students entering the Japanese Language Study Program at Padang State University. Based on the results of the research carried out it can be concluded that the mastery of student Shiekibun in 2017 in general is in the qualification "pretty good" with an average of 66.8

AbstractFour aspects, namely: listening skills, speaking skills, writing skills, and reading skills. Reading skills take an important role in learning Japanese at the high school level. In reading lessons in Japanese, students are required to also be able to read to understand what they are reading. Based on what the researchers observed when implementing educational practices (PLK) at SMAN 6 Padang showed the lack of interest and ability to read Japanese students. So that the achievement of learning goals is not optimal. Therefore, certain media are needed to make it easier to attract students to improve reading skills. The use of image media can overcome the above problems. The purpose of this study was to find out how the influence of the picture media on the reading ability of class X students of SMAN 6 Padang. This study uses quasi-experimental research, with posttest tonly control group design. While the sampling technique uses purposive sampling technique. The sample in this study were students of class X MIPA 1 and X MIPA 5 with a total of 69 people. The results of data analysis, obtained tcount with a significance level of 0.05% is 2.00 with degrees of freedom dk = n1 + n2-2. This means that tcount > ttable (2.50> 2.00). Then the hypothesis is accepted, because tcount> ttable. Keywords: Reading. Media, Picture PENDAHULUAN Bahasa merupakan alat komunikasi yang digunakan untuk menyampaikan ide, pikiran, hasrat dan keinginan kepada orang lain. Oleh karena itu, dalam berbahasa diperlukan keterampilan dan pemahaman antar dua belah pihak untuk menghindari miskomunikasi. Dalam kajian ilmu bahasa, keterampilan berbahasa terdiri atas empat aspek, yaitu: keterampilan mendengar, keterampilan berbicara, keterampilan menulis, dan keterampilan membaca. Menurut Sutedi (2004:2), saat kita berkomunikasi dengan orang lain baik secara lisan ataupun tulisan, orang tersebut bisa mengerti apa yag kita maksud karena memahami makna yang terdapat pada bahasa yang kita gunakan. Jadi, bahasa adalah media untuk menyampaikan suatu makna kepada orang baik secara lisan ataupun tulisan.Oleh karena itu, pembelajaran membaca menjadi sangat penting.Keterampilan membaca mengambil peran penting dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Jepang tingkat SMA. Pada pelajaran membaca dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Jepang siswa dituntut untuk juga bisa membaca memahamiapa yang mereka baca.Kemampuan membaca berdasarkan cara membaca dibagi menjadi membaca bersuara atau membaca nyaring dan membaca pemahaman. Menurut Tarigan (1979: 23) membaca nyaring adalah kegiatan yang merupakan alat bagi guru, murid, ataupun pembaca bersama-sama dengan orang lain atau pendengar untuk menangkap serta memahami informasi, pikiran dan perasaan seorang pengarang. Media, Picture PENDAHULUAN Bahasa merupakan alat komunikasi yang digunakan untuk menyampaikan ide, pikiran, hasrat dan keinginan kepada orang lain. Oleh karena itu, dalam berbahasa diperlukan keterampilan dan pemahaman antar dua belah pihak untuk menghindari miskomunikasi. Dalam kajian ilmu bahasa, keterampilan berbahasa terdiri atas empat aspek, yaitu: keterampilan mendengar, keterampilan berbicara, keterampilan menulis, dan keterampilan membaca. Jadi, bahasa adalah media untuk menyampaikan suatu makna kepada orang baik secara lisan ataupun tulisan.Oleh karena itu, pembelajaran membaca menjadi sangat penting.Keterampilan membaca mengambil peran penting dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Jepang tingkat SMA. Abstract This study discusses the mastery of kanoukei in 2018 students of Japanese language study programs at Padang State University. The purpose of this study was to determine the kanoukei mastery of 2018 students entering the Japanese Language Study Program at Padang State University. This type of research used in this research is quantitative research with descriptive methods. The population in this study were students entering 2018 Japanese Language Education Study Program, Padang State University, amounting to 62 people. The sample in this study amounted to 30 people. The data of this study are the kanoukei mastery test scores for 2018 students entering the Japanese Language Study Program at Padang State University. Based on the results of the research carried out it can be concluded that the mastery of student kanoukei in 2018 in general is in the qualification "more than enough" with an average of 60.43

AbstrakPenalitian ini bertujuan untuk: mendeskripsikan jenis keigo dan faktor yang mempengaruhi penggunaan keigo pada anime Sakamoto desu ga. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode dengan deskriptif. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kalimat yang dikatakan oleh Sakamoto dalam anime. Sedangkan sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah anime Sakamoto desu ga episode 1-6. Hasil dari penelitian ini adala sebagai berikut : Pertama, ada 3 jenis keigo yang terdapat dalam anime yaitu sonkeigo, kenjougo, dan teineigo. Dari ketiga jenis keigo tersebut, terdapat 20 kata merupakan jenis sonkeigo, 9 kata jenis kenjougo dan 94 kata jenis teineigo. Sedangkan faktor yang mempengaruhi penggunaan keigo pada anime yaitu keakraban, usia, hubungan sosial, jenis kelamin, keanggotaan kelompok, dan situasi.Kata kunci: Keigo, sonkeigo, kenjougo, teineigo, faktor yang mempengaruhi keigo.
