Contemporary Eastern Orthodox theologian, Ioannis Zizioulas, is certainly one of the most prominent theologians of the modern times considering his great work as well as the depth of his thought. Although his work explores a spectrum of theological ideas, this paper brings his ecclesiology into light from a point of view of “liturgical” and “therapeutic” ecclesiology, which Zizioulas recognizes within the eastern tradition as two types of ecclesiology that are intertwined and therefore cannot be separated one from the other. Thus, this paper examines Zizioulas’ work in the context of the contemporary Greek Orthodox theology and puts forward his interest and view on ecclesiology with an aim to illustrate the “liturgical” and “therapeutic” dimension of ecclesiology that is present in his work and thought which are based fairly on patristic theology. Along these lines, this paper presents his ecclesiological concept right through the prism of “liturgical” and “therapeutic” ecclesiology.

Članak se bavi okolnostima i kontekstom baselskog izdanja Jeronimovih djela iz 1516. To izdanje jedno je od najslavnijih izdanja crkvenih otaca uopće. Dva su temeljna razloga za to. Prije svega, upravo je u to doba Basel bio središte tiskarstva na sjeveru Europe. Naime, jedan od utemeljitelja baselskog tiskarstva, Johannes Amerbach, isplanirao je objavljivanje sabranih djela četvorice naučitelja crkve: Ambrozija, Jeronima, Augustina i Grgura. Drugi razlog važnosti tog izdanja jest činjenica da je urednikom izdanja Jeronimovih djela bio Erazmo Roterdamski. Unatoč tome što je Amerbach ubrzo umro, izdavanje Jeronimovih djela nije zaustavljeno. Preuzeo ga je također važni baselski tiskar i Amerbachov nasljednik Johannes Froben. Nastavivši i dovršivši izdavanje djela sv. Jeronima, Erazmo je postao središnjom osobom kruga vodećih baselskih intelektualaca. Osim toga, to izdanje djela sv. Cilj je ovog rada ukazati na nove spoznaje o glazbeno-liturgijskim izvorima Zagrebačke biskupije, koji predstavljaju vrelo za proučavanje glazbenih varijanti napjeva gregorijanskog pjevanja Crkve zagrebačke u srednjemu vijeku. Hrvatski i mađarski muzikolozi posljednjih su desetljeća, a poglavito od 2017. naovamo, uočili niz znakovitih novih obilježja koja zagrebačke liturgijske knjige u 15. i 16. stoljeću obogaćuju s nekoliko “novih izvora”, koji su do sada (doduše) bili znani, ali nisu provenijencijom bili uvršteni u repertoarni kontekst glazbenih izvora srednjovjekovne Zagrebačke biskupije. Autorica ukazuje na promjenu “destinacije” nekadašnjeg Ostrogonskoga graduala (Graduale Strigoniense) iz 15./16. stoljeća, koji svojim karakteristikama postaje “zagrebački” glazbeni kodeks, te upućuje na gradual Arhiva HAZU III. d. 182 iz 15. stoljeća, čija je recentna analiza pokazala da je doista bio u uporabi u katedrali u Zagrebu tijekom dugoga srednjeg vijeka, ali i stoljećima nakon toga.

Zatim se, da bi se pokušalo uputiti u izvore promjena, osvrće na osnovne dvadesetostoljetne misaone tendencije. One se nastoje egzemplificirati ponajprije filozofijom Martina Heideggera te u znatno manjoj mjeri postmodernim tendencijama (Jacques Derrida, Giles Deleuze). U konačnici donosi se jedno novo upućivanje u humanistiku, zasnovano na kršćanskoj tradiciji. Pritom se polazi od novog, kršćanskog razumijevanja tjelesnosti.

The discourse about conscientious objection is becoming increasingly relevant today. Some dispute it, while others see it as the last defense of their beliefs against the onslaught of ethical relativism and an increasing number of permissive laws. The paper emphasizes that conscientious objection is an act of faithfulness to oneself, that is, to one’s belief. The dignity of man, created in the image of Good and called to discover the truth, dictates that he discovers the truth in his conscience and makes free decisions that are in accordance with the known truth, that is, his belief. In this context, the fundamental right of every person is self-determination and making decisions in accordance with our beliefs because our actions simultaneously determine our personality. Therefore, conscientious objection cannot be seen as a conflict between believers and non-believers because the requirement to live according to one’s conscience, given that it stems from the very dignity of the person and their nature, binds every person regardless of their worldview. In the end, conscientious objection is not disobedience to the law or some anti-juridical position but an aspiration to express the correct spirit of the law that does not contradict the inalienable rights of the human person. In particular, conscientious objection is not a passive position where we jealously guard our safety and our space of personal freedom; that is a kind of escape from responsibility, refraining from taking action or transferring responsibility to another. Conscientious objection is a renunciation of one’s own comfort and an expression of courage to oppose imposed laws. It is a form of civic responsibility and religious courage to actively stand up for Good and, at the same time, an authentic way of witnessing the value of personal freedom.

A public communication between the Catholic Church and radical left in Croatia today is burdened with misunderstandings that are reflections of a deeper ideological confrontation that has historical and sociological background. In this paper, we considered a philosophical work of Milan Kangrga, representative and one of founders of Praxis school to confirm an assumption that we need to reestablish a dialogue between the Church and political left since the prewar dialogue between the theologians and Marxists had his lacks. The dialogue between the Church and Marxists before the war had certain success, although the open and constructive discussion about themes that could be relevant for both sides did not continue after the war, not only due to the war conflicts and its consequences, but political polarization also. We considered the critique of political and social situation in Croatia by Milan Kangrga since his opinions were widely misunderstood, and taken in context of ideological conflict, although we presented how in certain questions regarding the relation toward modernity, civil rights, freedoms, and rule of law, he was not far from critical voices in Catholic Church. The dialogue between the Church and political left can be reestablished and continued in which we need to observe how to overcome a barriers that were, during the long time unnoticed and neglected.
