Employee performance plays a significant and noticeable role in the advancement and growth of every organization, as human capital contributes to its success and effectiveness. Notwithstanding its importance, there is limited research in Middle East public sector, suggesting a scarcity of empirical studies on this issue. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to present a conceptual study on the practices of human resource management and its effect on the performance of employees in the Ministry of Oman Agricultural and Fisheries (MAF), in which the moderating role of organizational justice is examined. This research quantitative method and data analysis will use Smart PLS. The sample was determined in advance and the questionnaires will be distributed to the employees of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries in the Sultanate of Oman. It is expected that the results of the study will have an enrichment on the scientific and practical context.

Today, environmental protection is a priority task for the governments of countries around the world due to the deepening of environmental problems and their impact on people's lives. Several problematic issues can and must be solved at the local level, which will make environmental policy more effective and take into account local needs. The study aimed to analyse the competence of local self-government bodies in terms of monitoring compliance with environmental legislation. A comparative analysis was used to study the issue of ensuring the protection of the environment and ecosystem by local self-government bodies through the prism of legal protection. During the research, several obstacles to the implementation of effective environmental protection measures at the local level were identified: the imperfection of the financing system, the lack of environmental awareness, the absence of effective administrative and procedural measures, and the imperfection of state control. In response to the identified problems, the positive experience of implementing the norms of the European Charter of Local Self-Government was investigated. It was established that the decentralization of local self-government had a positive effect on the protection of the ecosystem, as it brought local authorities closer to the public and provided local authorities with real powers to solve problems related to compliance with environmental legislation. In addition, to increase the effectiveness of mechanisms of state control over local self-government in the field of environmental protection, a system of principles of such control is proposed, consisting of publicity, systematicity, effectiveness, objectivity, impartiality, and universality. The proposed system will cover several key environmental problems and quickly and effectively solve them with the involvement of competent specialists and the public. The state of environmental protection at the local level is seen in further research and justification to determine practical recommendations for the implementation of decentralization of local self-government.

Furthermore, this work encompasses a comprehensive chronicle of the evolutionary trajectory of marketing strategies employed by enterprises for engaging with their consumers and prospective buyers. Within the scope of this article, an overview is provided on the contemporary landscape of digital marketing, highlighting its various forms and their utilization within the scientific and theoretical domain as well as practical applications within a diverse spectrum of companies. Additionally, the article presents empirical research findings on the multifaceted interactions between marketing initiatives and their target audience, employing diverse communication channels and methodologies. Statistical metrics and graphical representations are employed to elucidate the growth and maturation of the digital marketing field, offering insights into industry-specific trends, geographical variations, and the financial investments committed to this evolving domain. This article also delves into various Internet platforms that have significantly influenced the evolution of digital communications within the realm of commerce. The author systematically elucidates the distinctive approaches adopted by these platforms in advancing digital marketing strategies. Moreover, the article underscores the manifold advantages of digital marketing, with particular emphasis on the substantial reduction in transaction costs and the mitigation of governmental regulatory interference in economic activities. This paper examines how big data analytics and AI improve hospital supply chain sustainability. Hospitals are recognizing the need for eco-friendly operations due to environmental issues and rising healthcare needs. It analyzes data from 68 UK hospitals using a conceptual model and partial least squares regression-based structural equation modeling. The research begins by examining hospital supply networks' environmental impact. Energy use, trash, and transportation emissions are major issues. It then explains how big data analytics and AI can transform these implications. This study prioritizes big data analytics for inventory management, demand forecasting, and procurement. Hospitals can reduce inventory, waste, and supply shortages using data-driven insights, saving money and the environment. AI also boosts hospital supply chain logistics and transportation efficiency, according to the study. Fuel consumption, carbon emissions, and delivery routes are optimized by AI. Predictive maintenance preserves medical equipment. In conclusion, hospital supply chains benefit greatly from big data analytics and AI. In this article, coastal sea sediments from three different selected sites of Reggio Calabria and Vibo Valentia districts, Calabria region, Southern Italy, were picked up to quantify natural and anthropogenic radioactivity content and metal concentrations. The aim was to assess any possible radiological health hazard for human beings due to external exposure to gamma rays, as well as the level of pollution due to anthropic radionuclides and metals in the investigated area. To this purpose, High Purity Germanium (HPGe) gamma spectrometry was employed to quantify specific activities of 226Ra, 232Th, 40K, and 137Cs radioisotopes. The absorbed gamma dose rate in air (D), the annual effective dose equivalent (AEDE) outdoors, the external hazard index (Hex) and the excess lifetime cancer risk (ELCR) were also estimated to assess any possible radiological health risk for the population, mainly due to the use of coastal sea sediments for the beach nourishment. Moreover, Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) measurements were carried out for the quantitative elemental analysis of the samples, to assess any possible chemical pollution by metals, that could be released into the environment by both natural and anthropogenic sources, through a comparison with the limits set by the Italian Legislation. Finally, the results reported in this paper can be used as a baseline for future investigations concerning a more complete mapping of the radioactivity levels in coastal sea sediments.

Climate change's effects on food crop production are a serious concern due to its linkages with food insecurity. This study attempts to investigate the question of whether and to what extend climate volatility has affected the yield of a major staple crop, the wheat, in the District Faisalabad, the largest agricultural city in Pakistan. Daily base data of temperature and rainfall over the past 33 years is collected, and the average and volatility measures of climate conditions are calculated for the whole crop period as well as for the vegetative and reproductive stages of crop growth. The quantile regression technique is utilized to estimate the influence of climate volatility on wheat yield distribution. The results provide convincing evidence that climate volatility is more damaging to food crops as compared to the gradual changes in rainfall and temperature. Besides, climate volatility is found to have significant effects on both the vegetative and reproductive stages of wheat crop growth. This research unravels the heterogeneous impact of temperature and rainfall across the vegetative and reproductive stages of wheat crop growth. It is hoped that the findings are important to guide policymakers to cope with uncertain climate shocks.

According to the European Environmental Agency, road traffic noise is one of the worst and most prevalent kinds of environmental pollutants, which causes health problems to a constantly increasing number of people in urban areas throughout Europe. It has been proved that prolonged exposure to sound levels exceeding 55 dBA is harmful and causes severe problems like sleep disturbances, tiredness, lack of concentration, high blood pressure and, in the worst case, sudden death. A precise and constant evaluation of sound level in inhabited areas is therefore desired (and in some cases compelled by laws), but collection of actual noise data is not easy and sometimes not possible. For this reason, Road Traffic Noise (RTN) models are very handy: one can (more or less precisely) estimate the noise emitted in a certain area having certain road traffic characteristics. The application of RTN models, anyway, also has problems. First of all, an RTN model has to be built and calibrated by using real collected noise data. Moreover, when trying to apply an RTN model on road traffic situations that are far away from the site of collection, the models generally fail. To overcome such problems, in this contribution, a road traffic dataset has been computed by randomly generating values of traffic variables like the number of vehicles per unit of time, their velocities, and their distance from the receiver. Then, by applying a multiregressive function on the dataset, the obtained coefficients have been used to calibrate and validate the presented model. The three steps (generation of the dataset, calibration of the model, and validation on a real dataset) are detailly investigated.

This research aims to evaluate the project’s success from the stakeholders in creating sustainable outcomes and identify the problems and obstacles in the development of online marketing projects. The study takes a mixed-method approach, obtaining information from three distinct groups of people: customers (through qualitative research), business owners (through quantitative research), and government officials and municipal administrators (through qualitative research). This study highlights the imperative of incorporating the collective efforts of all three groups to enhance the likelihood of achieving success and maintaining the project’s long-term viability. Previously, the absence of collaborative management has resulted in the misallocation of resources toward resolving issues that were not aligned with the intended objectives. Upon examination of the business owners, it was discovered that implementing additional sales channels gave a notable and favorable outcome. The project evaluation using the CIPP model revealed that the processes implemented for customer management were deemed of exceptional quality. Critical difficulties and challenges were also noted, such as the requirement for business owners to possess IT skills to produce compelling media and the customers’ desire for a user-friendly platform design. In the public sector, it is found that the government should evaluate entrepreneurial endeavors to find those deserving of continued development. Other recommendations for this study include offering support as a best practice and developing long-term evaluation standards.

Simultaneous removal of microplastics and endocrine disruptors was performed with high yields using Zeolitic imidazolate/Fe3O4 nanocomposite. Polystyrene and 4-tert-butylphenol were used to indicate the microplastic and endocrine disruptors. Under optimal conditions for maximum yields, the matrix was as follows: 1.5 mg/l Zeolitic imidazolate/Fe3O4 nanocomposite, 30 min adsorption time at a Zeolitic imidazolate to Fe3O4 ratio of 1/1, and 6 mg/l individual polystyrene 4-tert-butylphenol concentrations. Under these conditions, 99% and 98% removals were detected for polystyrene and 4-tert-butylphenol, respectively via adsorption. An excellent reproducibility was found for Zeolitic imidazolate/Fe3O4 nanocomposite under steadystate operational conditions. The FESEM analyses showed that Zeolitic imidazolate/Fe3O4 nanocomposite diameter was around 30 nm at a Zeolitic imidazolate to Fe3O4 nanocomposite ratio of 1/1 while some larger dodecahedral particles size was ≤ 300 nm. N2 adsorption–desorption measurements exhibited the porosity of Zeolitic imidazolate/Fe3O4 nanocomposite and the decrease of size is attributed to the incorporation of a nonporous magnetic phase via the addition of Fe2+ to the nanocomposite. BET results showed a specific surface area with a BET isotherm of 5000 m2 /g, and a pore size of 30 nm for Zeolitic imidazolate/Fe3O4 nanocomposite. In the XRD spectra of Zeolitic imidazolate/Fe3O4 nanocomposite, the structure of nanocomposite was not changed by the addition of imidazolate and Fe3O4 nanocomposite. HRTEM analysis indicated some crystal agglomerations by doping of zeolitic imidazolate to Fe3O4. The reusability of the Zeolitic imidazolate/Fe3O4 nanocomposite was excellent even after 60 times utilization. The yields were 88% and 85% after 60 runs while the nanocomposite was reused 20 times during runs with yields as high as 97% and 98%.

Women are considered as one of the victims affected by Covid-19 who experience various difficulties. This research aims to conduct a systematic literature review on the topic of Women Empowerment and Covid-19. By using the main data from the Scopus database in the period 2020-2022, this research uses descriptive analysis and then processed and visualized with Vos-Viewer. This study reveals that the results show 3 dominant concepts that are most researched, namely women, pandemic, and covid-19. These findings contribute to the study of women’s empowerment to be developed on the topic of crisis, crisis management, and strengthening the role of women as part of the recovery strategy during the COVID-19 crisis.
