Graduate students commonly experience apprehension towards statistics courses, leading to lower achievement and negative perceptions of the subject. This mixed-methods research study aimed to explore the effects of blended learning on graduate students' achievement and perception of statistics in the Master of Arts in Education program. Blended learning combines online and face-to-face learning modalities. The study included 67 participants who completed tests for parametric and non-parametric statistics and 12 who underwent interviews. Results showed that students showed mastery of specific statistical topics, particularly correlation and regression tests and tests of difference with paired and independent samples. The students attributed their success to blended learning, which promotes flexibility, ease of learning statistics, independent learning, and motivation. Regardless of the field of specialization, students' scores in statistics were similar. However, challenges such as internet connection, software use, and technicalities of concepts and software like SPSS were reported. This study suggests that blended learning is beneficial for improving graduate students' achievement and perception of statistics and that proper support and guidance are needed to address the challenges of this learning modality.

The ratification of Aceh regulation (Hereafter called Qanun) Number 11 of 2018 concerning Islamic Financial Institutions (Hereafter called Qanun LKS) has provided special rights for Islamic banking institutions, while non-Islamic banking institutions are not permitted to run their business in the province. At the same time, the central Government also decided to merge three state-owned Islamic banks, namely BNI Syariah, BRI Syariah, and Mandiri Syariah, to become Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). These policies have potentially violated Law on Antitrust, especially in Aceh Province. This article aimed to analyze whether the local Government's policy in enacting the Qanun LKS and consolidating the BSI is part of monopoly practices and unfair business competition in the banking sector in the Aceh region. This research was classified as normative qualitative research, where data was obtained from secondary sources, such as laws, books, journals and related studies. The results showed that the enactment of Qanun LKS has restricted conventional banking from expanding its business in the region. In addition, the Government’s policy to consolidate three state-owned Islamic banks, which control more than seventy-five of the market share in Aceh province, was considered contrary to the law on the Prohibition of Monopolistic Practices and Unfair Business Competition Number 5 of 1999.

"Kuah Pliek" is the famous Acehnese cuisine that utilizes most ecological materials. However, only a few researchers have discussed the sustainability of the lexicon contained within the cuisine from an eco-linguistics perspective. This study focuses on Aceh's traditional cuisine, "Kuah Pliek U" (KPU), to assess the raw materials' eco-lexicon diversity and the Acehnese's knowledge of the identified eco-lexicon. This study employed a qualitative research design to address the problems in which data collection included in-depth interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), passive and active observation, and the examination of documents such as research reports and journal articles. The analysis of data then used a qualitative interactive model. The result demonstrates that the number of the eco-lexicon within KPU is about 35 – 40, as same as its total of raw materials and ingredients. It consists of biotic and abiotic, with plants comprising the majority. Linguistically, the lexicon belongs to the noun class, but semantically, it can be divided into nouns, prepositional eco-lexicons, and nouns and conjunction. This study also reveals that Acehnese knowledge of KPU has decreased, despite its continued popularity in Aceh society. It means that the existence of three dimensions that influence language sustainability cannot guarantee that local people's cultural knowledge will remain intact.

This study aimed to summarize studies on early childhood and elementary school social skills and identify research gaps. The study used a systematic literature review method. A total of 50 articles on early childhood and elementary school social skills were published over the past ten years, from 2013 to November 2022. The 50 articles were the subject of the study. Nine thousand one hundred fifty samples comprise 1,958 early childhood and 7,192 elementary school students. The data were collected by studying documentation of several previous articles through database searches such as Google Scholar, scopus.com, ERIC, Sage Publication, Science Direct, and Taylor and Francis. The data analysis techniques were quantitative (statistical) and qualitative (descriptive). This study indicated that 50 articles had highlighted social skills in early childhood and elementary school that had successfully improved through the implementation of learning outside the classroom revealing the attitudes such as cooperation, assertion, responsibility, and self-control in students, and intellectual abilities, language, Education, computers, gender, and parental support. This study is helpful for educators as material for maximizing social skills. A systematic literature review of students' social skills factors is recommended for future researchers.

The study on symbolic violence against women is limited. There is still a significant degree of suspicion and stigma in society around the notion that women are weak and helpless compared to men and that women are continually the victims of patriarchal symbolic violence in terms of language, social economics, and others. This research aims to investigate how and why symbolic violence is performed against women in patriarchal cultures, the kinds of symbolic violence against women, the determinants of symbolic violence in this instance, and the effects of linguistic-symbolic violence on women in Medan Tembung. This qualitative research included seven individuals between the ages of 15 and 35. Observations and interviews were employed to collect data for this investigation. The acquired data was then examined using sociological methodologies to disclose the field phenomena and interview outcomes precisely. Furthermore, this research employs the theory of Pierre Bourdieu to comprehend symbolic violence in society. This study's results demonstrate that symbolic violence persists in society, particularly in meetings and in the form of language. The results of this research support this concept by providing evidence of symbolic violence in the form of language or particular terminology that women are not permitted to use, although males are permitted to do so, and which seem to be prevalent in daily life.

The Israeli government has been invading and demolishing Palestinian houses in the occupied territories of Jerusalem from the outset of 1948 to date. The Israeli government’s reasons for doing so are critical to analyze, which is the article's primary purpose. This article used a descriptive approach to gather data to describe the reasons for doing such demolition. The researchers investigated, identified, and critically analyzed the frequent actions of Palestinian house demolition based on the collected data, where the qualitative method becomes the data analysis methodology. The finding reveals that, according to the Israeli government, their main reason for demolishing Palestinian houses was because they were constructed illegally without residential permits. However, the finding exposes that these claims are not justifiable; instead, the precise reason for the demolition of Palestinian houses by the Israeli government is only to evict the Palestinians from their occupied territories in Jerusalem. This also violated the position of international law and human rights, which called upon the Israeli government to allocate land to the Palestinian people. This article, therefore, recommends that more research be conducted to expose the unjustifiable actions of the Israeli government.

Utilizing critical literature on Melville and RK Narayan and then reading Moby-Dick (1851) and The Man Eater of Malgudi closely (1961), this article concerns American and Indian works of literature and argues that both writers were among the leading imaginative writers to create niches in terms of philosophy. Both used imagination, symbolism, and spiritual and universal impulses to make the characters and books worth reading. However, both novels portray a quest to enter a “New World” through protagonists Ahab and Vasu, who bring multiple concerns and commit catastrophic blunders. The article sails through a comparative study of the protagonists analyzing the critical factors, such as adventurous and mysterious wanderers, the universe being both godless and purposeless, virtues versus sins, influence and fusion of divergent subjects, their anti-life and anti-nature attitude, intelligence and wisdom and archetype ambitions that lead them to self-destruction. This paper intends to explore the dynamics of the relationship between American and Indian Literature through protagonists Ahab and Vasu’s acquisitive, coseismic, nomadic, and fanatic nature in their quest to enter a “New World” to address aspects that the present time calls for; hence, making both novels great in the twenty-first century.

School is a formal institution that is the right place for students to develop their potential. National education aims to provide space and educational materials for every student, including slow learner students. Religious education material is one of the materials that must be provided. This research aimed to describe the learning strategies used by religious teachers to slow learning students. This qualitative research used a narrative approach. There were eight participants: Islamic religion teachers, special guidance teachers and two school principals. Data collection through in-depth interviews and analysis with the stages of data reduction, presentation and interpretation. This research found peer teaching and repetition models to be the main learning models. It was consistent with the character of slow-learner students with below-average cognitive abilities. Slow learner students tend to accept material slowly and repeatedly. They were also more comfortable when being taught by peers because, psychologically, they felt the same age. Meanwhile, the biggest obstacle for slow learner students in learning was limited cognitive ability, unstable concentration power and negative image of parents towards children's abilities. The findings of this study are interesting to be used as a reference for teachers and parents in educating slow learner children.

Industrial internship activities prepare students to anticipate various problems in the industrial world and anticipate termination of employment. This study aimed to determine the quality of implementing internships at the Department of Building Engineering Education at Medan State University. The research subjects were Unimed building engineering students who had carried out internships with as many as 43 people. Data collection techniques were carried out using questionnaires and analysis of internship reports. The data analysis technique was carried out descriptively. The study results showed that implementing quality internships can improve students' competencies and attitudes toward the world of work. Based on the results of the research, the implementation of the internship had to be improved: 1) the implementation of the internship should be carried out during college holidays to make it more efficient, 2) the internship report was determined during guidance with students, 3) the internship assessment system was based on reports and student study mastery during the internship, and 4) The competencies obtained during the internship were relatively under several competency achievements in the course. Implementing apprenticeships in the Department of Building Engineering Education still needs attention to prepare more competent graduates.

Islamic fundamentalist groups played an important role in Indonesia's 2019 presidential election. They openly sided with the number 2 candidate, Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Solahudin Uno. Even today, the presidential election was marked by polarization and religious sentiments that are very strong and sharp. This study examined the model of presidential election contestation that will likely take place in 2024, the position of fundamentalist groups in political contestation, and its relation to religious polarization trends.
