In order to solve the increasingly serious problem of eutrophication in China, the government had issued a new wastewater discharge standard that focuses on reducing the nutrients from effluents (TN < 15 mg/L, TP<0.5 mg/L). These stringent new requirements had resulted in the need for improved nutriment removal from existing full-scale wastewater treatment plants. In this study a series of reform were carried out in a full-scale wastewater treatment plant with modified carrousel oxidation ditch process located in Henan province of China. In order to improve the nutriment removal efficiency, low oxygen control strategy was adopted and the gas supply of aerobic zone was optimized y. By reducing the quantity of aeration in the front of the oxidation ditch and controlling the DO between 1 and 1.5 mg/L in the export, the anoxic zone was formed in the front of the oxidation ditch. The run way of modified oxidation ditch was changed from anoxic/anaerobic/aerobic to anoxic/anaerobic/anoxic/aerobic. After adjusting, the effluent quality was substantially improved. The concentrations of COD, NH4+-N, TN and TP in the effluent were below 30mg/L, 2mg/L, 15mg/L and 0.5mg/L, respectively. All of these indicators met the new wastewater discharge standards enacted in China.

Coherent doppler lidar for wind is based on the heterodyne detection between local oscillator signal and the echo signal. Optimum optical local oscillator power is an important factor of the signal to noise ratio. The dynamic range of echo signal, the relative intensity noise and the photoelectric detector saturation effect are studied comprehensively as the local oscillator power influence factors for the first time. The expression of the local oscillator power and SNR is derived. Using the computer simulation, the conclusion that the dynamic range of the echo signal will not affect the optimum of the local oscillator is obtained. Selecting different values of the relative intensity noise, the curves of the SNR versus local oscillator are given. Comparing the SNR formula in the quantum limit with the derived SNR formula, the saturation effect of the photoelectric devices is studied.

Based on the red clay of Wuhan reinforced by Ionic Soil Stabilizer, the red clay was treated by different matches of ISS and water at first, then was tested in the Atterberg limits test and unconfined compressive strength test. The results show that the plastic index decreases, and unconfined compressive strength increases after mixing the ISS into the red clay. In addition, strength of ISS-reinforced soil increases with age, and strength respectively increases with an decrease in plastic index. Finally, because application of the plasticity index has its own advantages, such as efficient, economic and applicable, a minimum plasticity index is usually recommended to determine the optimal ratio of ISS-reinforced soil.

Urban lakes locate in city area or non-agricultural towns, which are very important to city ecosystem and habitation environment. In this paper, nine lakes of Nanjing city (Huashen Lake, Baijia Lake, Yueya Lake, Mochou Lake, Nanhu Lake, Pipa Lake, Qianhu Lake, Zixia Lake, and Xuanwu Lake) were selected and water samples were collected seasonally, so as to analyze water quality and trophic status. Results showed that two lakes were mesotrophic, three lakes were light eutrophic, three lakes were medium eutrophic, and even one lake was heavy eutrophic. Finally, special needs to be pointed out as follows: strict control of phosphorus concentration in Zixia Lake should be strengthened to avoid blooms occurrence; obvious swamping trends were observed in Pipa Lake, where clearing and dredging were needed; eutrophic conditions were quite serious in Mochou Lake, Nanhu Lake, and Yueya Lake, comprehensive restoration was required in these three lakes timely.

Electrocatalytic oxidation of indomethacin on a modified multiplewalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) cathode in aqueous solution was studied in this paper. The experiments were carried out to explore the effects of initial concentration, electrolytic voltage, pH, concentration of electrolyte and electrolysis time on removal rate of indomethacin. The results of show that the removal rate reached 78% by using the Pt/MWCNTs electrode, when the concentration of indomethacin was 40 mg·L−1, the electrolytic voltage was 30V, the pH was 11, the concentration of Na2SO4 was 2000 mg·L−1 and the reaction time was 1h. Under such conditions, indomethacin degradation accords with the first order kinetics.

The density functional (DFT) method with the hybrid B3LYP exchange-correlation functional was proposed to study the intermolecular interactions between template and functional monomers at the prepolymerisation step. In the present work, 4-nitrotoluene (PNT) was chosen as the template. Six widely used functional monomers, methacrylic acid (MAA), acrylamide, 2-vinylpyridine, 4-vinylpyridine, methacrylamide and methyl methacrylate, were compared theoretically as the candidates for MIPs preparation. The computing result showing that MAA was a better functional monomer to prepare PNT molecularly imprinted polymers(MIPs). The attained complexes were optimised, and changes in the interaction energies, and atomic charges were used to predict the types of interactions existing in prepolymerisation complexes. Based on the conformational analysis and the calculated binding energies of PNT and MAA molecular systems, we have synthesize PNT molecularly imprinted polymers. The separation capability of this MIPs to PNT and its analog was evaluated when it worked as a HPLC column filling. The experimental results showed that the MIPs has an selective distinguish ability for PNT and its analog.

The fuel economy and pollutant emissions characters of diesel taxies in Shanghai were analyzed. In particular, the fuel consumption and fuel cost per 100 kilometers, turnover, traveled distance, service kilometers, empty-loaded rate, and CO, NOX, HC+NOX, PM emissions characteristics of diesel taxies were carried out. The analysis result shown that compared with gasoline taxies, the fuel consumption and fuel cost per 100 kilometers of diesel taxies were reduced by 29% and 26% respectively. Diesel taxies will get more traveled distance, further service kilometers, and added turnover, whereas lower empty-loaded rate and less fuel cost per 100 kilometers. Among the total 120,000 kilometers test distance, the CO emission of diesel taxies was lower than the limited value of China national emission standard IV, the NOX and HC+NOX emission is under the limited value of China national emission standard III, whereas, the PM emission was under the limited value of China national emission standard II. All of CO, NOX, HC+NOX, and PM emissions of diesel taxies were reduced obviously when fuel by Shanghai IV diesel after 1st November, 2009.

The aim of this study is to analisis the method of estabishing a model of AmOn integrative nutrients removal reactor, and based on the results of experiments, to optimize the operating conditions as well. The ASM mechanisms and WEST software were unilized in the model. Results showed that the relatively errors of COD, NH3-N, TN and TP between value of experiment and simulated are 7.2%, 9.1%, 12.5% and 6.3%, respectively. The values ranges of operating parameters are: gas/liquid ratio is between 20∶1–30∶1, and C/N is above 10∶1. A good method of simulating AmOn reactor is found and validated. The model offers a theory base which can using AmOn integrative reactor in practical more effectively.
