To improve the performance of PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization), a modified algorithm named CDPSO (Colony Density Particle Swarm Optimization) is presented based on the comprehension that the space density character of particles embodies the convergence speed and global optimization ability of particle swarm. By the way of adopting dynamic nonconforming inertia coefficient and acceleration coefficient according to density factor, a high efficient global search PSO algorithm is achieved. For the purpose of application in underground engineering design conveniently, a new method of coupling CDPSO and FLAC, an excellent aided design software in underground engineering, is put forward. The CDPSO-FLAC coupling method implements the cooperation between optimization searching and safety calculation of engineering by embedding the CDPSO algorithm into computational kernel of FLAC. The method is used successfully in the support design of a northwest tunnel in China.

In the process of product manufacturing, control of assembly error will directly affect product working behavior. Variation of working behavior with assembly error was partitioned to three phases: compensation phase, rapid loss phase and total loss phase. Based on changing curve of product behavior, Function of behavior loss was constructed to describe behavior loss resulting from assembly error of a part of product. The conception and calculating method of behavior loss index (BLI) are given to reflect behavior changing status of whole product under certain assembly accuracy. Based on Jacobian- Torsor method, the Jacobian-Torsor tolerance model, considering impact factors of working condition, was extended and corrected, the assembly error resulted from working environment can be calculated. Combined with BLI, the calculated results can be used to forecast product behavior change lead by working load. The forecast can help to determine next measurement adopted. Finally, an example was used to demonstrate calculating procedure of given method.

How to choose the best or near kernel function to reduce test error rate is the key of KPCA applied to extract nonlinear feature. In this article, on the basis of research of CA, PSO, we propose a programmer flow of CBPSO used for training kernel function and build CBPSO-KPCA. This approach can effectively optimize kernel function. Simulation results show that produces highly competitive results at a relatively low computational cost. Keywords—CBPSO algorithms; KPCA; feature extraction CA(Cultural Algorithm) is considered as a new evolutionary algorithm (1) . It is originated by Reynolds in 1994. The PSO (Particle swarm optimization) is originated by Eberhart (2) . It is begun in the development of bird's hunt behavior. In the article the PSO is combined with the CA model. It is full use of PSO's swift evolution ability and via the inheritance operation in the CA model to increase the variety of the population together; all these are built the CBPSO (Cultural based PSO). The KPCA (Kernel Principle Component Analysis, KPCA) is the technique of input and output characteristic non-linear change (3) , the analysis of in the characteristic space, in order to obtain a optimization characteristic change in the ability of failure test identify. Because of the existence of selecting all kinds of kernel functions and parameter, how to select the optimization of kernel function and parameter in order to reach the optimization test effect, is a problem and unsolved yet. According to the characteristic of kernel function parameter optimization, the article designs a new algorithm, use the CBPSO to train the kernel function, use the CBPSO-KPCA algorithm for feature extraction. The simulation experiment shows that the combine heightens the optimization of kernel function effectively, it overcome the difficulty of kernel function application in some extents.

Due to the large success of wireless networks and portable devices, the ubiquitous computing paradigm is becoming a reality. Service-oriented architectures are among the premier middleware approaches to coping with the dynamicity of ubiquitous computing environments. One of the most challenging objectives to be achieved in ubiquitous computing environments is to allow a user to perform tasks by composing on the fly the environment's service and resource components. In this paper we propose a general service composition model for ubiquitous computing which based on semantic service matchmaking and genetic algorithm-based optimization of service selection. Based on the model, a ubiquitous computing architecture is given.

To be represented in tabular form and graphical format in ship electronic navigation system, printing tidal material must be processed into textual information, which is completed by an automatic tide table recognition module consisting of a feature extractor and a classifier. In feature extraction, a new wavelet part grid feature is defined based on wavelet's directive characteristics. In classification phase, multi-class SVM classifier is used instead of neural networks. Experiments show that the wavelet grid feature has good stability and satisfactory distinction, and SVM classifiers have better generalization performance than that of neural networks.

Transmission control protocol (TCP) is a reliable, end-to-end transport protocol, which is widely used for data services and is very efficient for wired networks. However, experiments and research showed that TCP's congestion control algorithm performs very poorly over wireless sensor networks with degraded throughputs. This paper studies TCP's throughput issues in wireless sensor networks, and designs an improved congestion control algorithm based on the characteristics of the wireless sensor networks. The protocol is designed as extension to DCCP (datagram congestion control protocol) with a new congestion control component. We also implemented this congestion control algorithm in NS2.Simulation results show improvements on throughput achieved by using Extended congestion control algorithm.

This paper describes the design and implement of a simple reduced TCP/IP protocol stack in VHDL that can be used in a soft-core embedded system (SOPC system) to establish high speed link between remote terminals and host. This is a significative experimental project whose target is high performance for image transmission with lower possession of CPU resource of embedded system.

A GPRS/GSM hybrid communication method is designed to develop a low-power RTU (remote terminal unit) for sensor signal acquisition and data transmission of distributed monitoring systems in industrial fields. The hardware architecture, key technology and transmission protocol of RTU are illustrated. Considering to GPRS network congestions, the reliability design of RTU is analyzed. When GPRS connection fails, the RTU switches to the SMS mode to resume the data transmission such that data integrity is ensured. Besides, the RTU is provided with multiple data sampling interfaces and low power mode. The data transmission experimental results show that the average GPRS transmission delay is 1.126~2.669 s, and the data loss rate decreases to 0 in hybrid communication from 6.94%, in single GPRS mode.

Hydroelectric generating unit system of water plant is a non-linear and complicated system. Conventional controller cannot get good controlling performance in control. In this study, an advanced soft computing technique based on fuzzy, neural network and genetic algorithm is used in the control of hydroelectric generating unit system of hydropower plant. Fuzzy reasoning system is used as controller and genetic algorithm is employed to optimize the parameters and rules of fuzzy controller in the design of controller or real-time control process. Dynamic identification model of control system based on RBF neural networks is designed to appraise the controlling performance of fuzzy controller. In the design, improved genetic algorithm is adopted based on general genetic algorithm and the character of control system. The improved genetic algorithm quickens optimizing speed and makes fuzzy controller acquire knowledge effectively. Simulation results show that the designed soft computing optimization control system can well control hydroelectric generating unit and its control performance is superior to conventional controller.
