MRI Reconstruction Based on Inverse Scale Space and Contourlet Thresholding 基于逆尺度空间和Contourlet阈值的MRI重构

in clinical Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), any reduction in scan time offers a number of potential benefits ranging from high-temporal-rate observation of physiological processes to improvements in patient comfort. In this paper we proposed a reconstruction algorithm by applying contourlet thresholding in inverse scale space flows. We improved the inverse scale space with the noise item in which there is some meaning information and take full advantage of coutourlet transform's characters: perfect reconstruction, noise restraint and good directional selectivity. Several example MRI reconstructions from highly undersampled K-space data are presented for recovery of detailed features from incomplete and inaccurate measurements. Simulation of Nuss Orthopedic for Pectus Excavatum Nuss整形术治疗漏斗胸的模拟

Nuss Orthopedic of Pectus Excavatum(PE) is a novel minimal invasive surgical technique for the treatment of PE, however, the surgery will fail as the Nuss bar is slipped or rotated. A 3D model for thorax is built according to the helical CT images of PE, the process of Nuss orthopedic was simulated by finite element analysis. The results show as the depressed sternum was jacking to normal position gradually by Nuss bar, the sternum, the ribs and the rib cartilages will all move upward which make the Nuss bar support the sternum at the location lower about 1~6 mm than the end of depressed sternum end. However, original plan is that the bar should be supported just at the end of depressed sternum. After the bar is fixed, there is a torque on the bar for the pressure imposed by sternum and the force produced by the fixed place of bar forms a pair of torque. This torque may be the reason for the failure of surgery. The improvement is that the fix place of bar should be move upward 1~6mm or a distance of one rib. Segmentation of Coronary Artery on Angiogram by Combined Morphological Operations and Watershed 形态学和分水岭联合分割冠状动脉血管造影

In this paper, a scheme using fuzzy mathematical morphology operations is proposed for extracting coronary ar- teries tree on angiogram. After the enhancement of image with the traditional morphological top-hat operator, the vessel image is filtered with the fuzzy morphological opening with a set of linear structuring elements at different orientation. At the same time, the enhanced image is also filtered with the dual of fuzzy opening with the same structuring elements set. The two filtered vessel image is then combined into a new image considering the local orientation consistency, detected by the morphological filter, within a linear neighborhood of each location. Threshold of the result image produces the binary vessel structure which is separate from background structure. The extracted vessel structure is lastly treated as prior of shape and location of vessel and used as marker in morphological watershed for detecting the accurate vessel boundaries. Experimentation shows the performance of proposed method on extraction vascular tree on clinical angiogram under x-ray. I. INTRODUCTION

Design of Portable Multi-Channel EEG Signal Acquisition System 便携式多通道脑电信号采集系统的设计

A portable multi-channel electroencephalography (EEG) signal acquisition system operated by battery is designed in this paper. EEG is a recording of the electrical activity of the brain from the scalp and the recorded waveforms provide insights into the dynamic aspects of brain activity. The amplifier with a bandwidth of 0.8-35Hz is designed by use of integrated circuits such as the low-power instrumentation amplifier AD623, low-power, high gain operational amplifiers TLC27L4, etc. The amplified EEG signals are digitized by an A/D (analog to digital) converter built-in MSP 430 MCU (micro-controller unit). The digitized signals are transmitted to a PC by a wired serial port or stored in the SD (secure digital) memory card. Experimental results show that the system could implement the acquisition and storage of the EEG signals efficiently. This system would be of benefit to all involved in the use of EEG for clinical diagnosis and monitoring, or even BCI (brain computer interface).

A Modified Kaczmarz Algorithm for Computerized Tomographic Image Reconstruction 基于改进Kaczmarz算法的计算机层析图像重建

A modified version of Kaczmarz algorithm for improving image reconstruction from projections in computerized tomography is proposed. Instead of taking projection onto hyperplanes sequentially in the given order in each iteration by classical Kaczmarz algorithm, the proposed algorithm does projection in an adaptive order which is evaluated from pseudo measurement error of each hyperplane. Since this algorithm proceeds with a basic aspect of traditional Kaczmarz algorithm, it can suit a variety of Kaczmarz extended algorithm. Numerical experiments described in the last part of the paper indicate that the Modified Kaczmarz algorithm gives much better results than the classical one. Mathematical Models of the Purkinje Fibre Cell and Simulations 浦肯野纤维细胞的数学模型与模拟

The purkinje fibre cell is an important biological system where various nonlinear processes interact to conduct electrical excitation which maintains the normal physiological status of the purkinje fibre and even the ventricle. The complex processes can be quantitatively described by the mathematical model. Therefore, it is of great theoretical value and profound realistic significance to research on mathematical models of the purkinje cell, which consequently in depth elucidates the mechanism of the purkinje fiber clear in microcosmic fields. This template, With the rapid development of the computing technology , computational models of the single cell are increasingly widely used in the research on the heart in the biological field. The purkinje fibre is an important tissue in the heart, and it dominates receiving and conducting excitation. In addition, the excitation conduction of the ventricle is considered mainly deriving from the purkinje fibre. Therefore, besides theoretical significance, it has also application value to research on the purkinje fibre cell, even for the further study on the heart, by building mathematical models and reproducing the active procedure. In this paper, the purkinje fibre and some relevant concepts are introduced first, and then two typical models of the purkinje fibre cell are focused on, especially their mechnisms, features and the simulations. At last the future research strategies and trends are discussed.

The purkinje fibre is an important tissue in the heart, and it dominates receiving and conducting excitation. Therefore, besides theoretical significance, it has also application value to research on the purkinje fibre cell, even for the further study on the heart, by building mathematical models and reproducing the active procedure. Database for Development of the Cultured Neuronal Network 培养神经网络发展数据库

It is generally assumed that the variability of neuronal firing pattern has an important effect on the connectivity of the nervous system, but this effect has not been thoroughly investigated. This challenging research area involves a tight cooperation of neuroscience, computer science, and biomedical engineering among others. In order to share our data and methods with the other experimenters and analysts, we have designed and implemented a database (http://bmp.hust.edu.cn/neuro_db/) including over 6000 GB data recorded from cultured neuronal networks on multi-electrode array. Most of these data were spontaneous activities of 50 cultures during development. The database presented here provides a crucial tool to explore neural development and neural coding, thus enables neuroscientists to share and manage data with greater efficiency. A Method of Quantitative Analysis for Dynamic Cellular Morphological Change 动态细胞形态变化的定量分析方法

In recent years, with the advancement of micro- scopic imaging technique, cellular morphological analysis has become one of the most important branches of biomedical image processing field. Cell image analysis, an assisting method of clinical information acquisition, has played an important role in facilitating the appropriate diagnosis and treatment against some serious diseases such as cancer, leukemia and etc. Early studies of this field focuses on still image information and mainly concerns either cell counting or the morphological characteristics of cell image. Furthermore, much effort has been devoted to analyzing the morphological change of cell image qualitatively, while less attention has been paid to analyzing it quantitatively which in fact is more effective, objective and accurate. Under this very circumstances, our work concentrates on analyzing the cellular morphological change by means of quantitative measurement, and a new method—circumference radial difference (Rdc )i s pro- posed. The basic idea is to measure the morphological change by estimating the radial differences from 360 different angles. Two sets of lymphocyte video database provided by the cooperation hospital are used to verify the proposed approach. Experimental results show that the proposed (Rdc) measurement can produce reasonably good agreement with subjective judgment by people.

Medical Signal Decomposition Analysis by Means of Continuous Wavelet Transform 基于连续小波变换的医疗信号分解分析

This paper proposes a novel approach for medical signal decomposition analysis by using Continue Wavelet Transform (CWT) instead of Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) through specialized software. A respiration signal from MIT- BIH Minic Database is analyzed by this approach and by DWT, indicating that decomposing signal by CWT not only gives all the information that DWT gives, but also demonstrates the signal wavelet coefficients evolution in spectra, and decomposes signal into wavelet space by scaling spectrum instead of decomposes signal according to mathematical algorithm.
