The inhibition effect of 4-chlorophenol (4-CP) on acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and its kinetics were studied by spectrophotometry. The results show that the activity of AChE can be inhibited obviously by 4-CP, and the 50% inhibitory concentration (IC50) is 0.66 mmol·L-1. 4-CP acted as a mixed inhibitor of AChE, and a reversible inhibition mechanism were observed. Lineweaver-Burk plot results showed that the mixed inhibitory constants Ki and K'i were 0.55 mmol·L-1 and 1.60 mmol·L-1, respectively, which indicated that the inhibition effect of 4-CP on free enzyme was stronger than that on enzyme-substrate complex.

Waste tires are increasing rapidly as solid waste and it's difficult to carry out the management problems associated with the waste tire disposal. The authors briefly reviewed the present recycle technologies for waste tires and the state of art of nitrogen oxide control by reburning. Then the authors proposed the use of waste tires as reburning fuel to reduce NO emitted from coal-fired boilers. The recent research work by the authors were reviewed and the major experiment results showed that a mixed fuel based on waste tire powder and lignite ash and Fe203 can reduce more than 80% of NO. This efficiency is even higher than that by methane reburning. This technology can dispose waste tires at a maximum extent by clean utilization of waste tire as a useful energy resource. This paper has implications for policy makers evaluating solid waste disposal options, as well as for boilers involved in determining appropriate NOx control strategies.

The paper mainly studies a new preparation technology of cyanamide. The auther designs a new technology: urea-cyanamide method. Different catalysts were used in the technoloy: ZSM-5 zeolite which are doped with transition metal cations selected from the Group A and Group B. The prepared catalysts were used in the decomposition of urea. Reaction conditions were as followed: with certain reaction temperature, reaction time, certain amount of catalyst, in the atmosphere of ammonia, so that the urea was decomposited into Cyanamide under normal pressure. This technology confirms atomic economical principle and it is low energy-consuming with little pollution and simple refining technology. Therefore it is a technology with good social and economic benefit. The difficulty of urea-cyanamide method is the selection of catalyst and high requirements for equipment.

Natamycin is a safe polyene antifungal compound. This paper investigated the inhibiting effect of natamycin on Saccharomyces cerevisiaes. The results showed that the minimum inhibitory concentrations of natamycin on Saccharomyces cerevisiae S101 and Saccharomyces cerevisiae S201 were 9ppm and 7ppm, respectively. Natamycin was used to detect the beer spoilage bacteria in the process of beer production. The results indicated that natamycin could be used as antifungal in the determination of beer-spoilage bacteria of brewing.

Research was made on the spatial distributions of heavy metals (Cu, Ni, Cr, Zn, Cd and Pb) in the sediments from a northern city of China. Based on the experimental data and the average enrichment factor (AEF) in the study area were evaluated by the potential ecological average enriched factor. The results showed that (1) Cd, Cu and Zn were the main risk factors and Ni, Cr belong to the mild pollution.(2) Different heavy metals have great differences in different layers of the sediment. (3) The third sampling point is the main heavy metals discharge side and the main pollution area.

Zinc-substituted hydroxyapatite was successfully synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method. This kind of Zn-substituted hydroxyapatite is environmental friendly phosphor material which has excellent photoluminescence (PL) property without containing toxic substance or expensive rare earth elements. The products were characterized via X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), photoluminescence (PL) excitation and emission spectra and kinetic decay curve. The PL intensity of Zn-substituted hydroxyapatite with different Zn content was investigated in detail. The photoluminescence intensities (PL) can be tuned by altering the doping concentration of Zinc. The possible luminescent mechanism of the PL intensity of the Zn-substituted hydroxyapatite was discussed.
