Microcontroller-based fertilizer dispenser for rice crop 基于单片机的水稻施肥机

With this study, the researchers explored the potentials of innovating the distribution of fertilizers, improving the distribution of fertilizers in rice crops and made it more efficient. Statistical tests were conducted to determine significant difference in yield in a rice crop season. Particularly with the help of previous reviews of related literature on color sensor, color analysis, leaf color chart, a microcontroller-based fertilizer dispenser for rice crops was developed and ended up with a significant difference in rice yield at a 5% level of significance.

Empirical testing of prototype real-time multi-hop MAC for Wireless Sensor Networks 无线传感器网络实时多跳MAC原型的实证测试

Internet of Things for the Smart Home Environment has been realized through the use of Wireless Sensor Network devices. Bandwidth hungry data such as real-time audio and video are becoming more important for monitoring and security in Smart Homes. TSMAC, a practical implementation of a multi-hop mesh topology real-time IEEE 802.15.4-based MAC protocol for Contiki OS was prototyped and studied using the TI CC2530 platform. Results indicate that TSMAC is able to support higher continuous bandwidth data streams of 16.6 kbps compared to the existing CSMA MAC protocol which manages only 3.2 kbps.

Simulation of electric fields for the development of biochip for the purpose of manipulating biological cells 模拟电场,开发生物芯片,用于操纵生物细胞

Researchers nowadays prefer biochip technology platform as a medium for conducting the analysis of biological cells where appropriate manipulation techniques like trapping, screening and sorting in a few seconds are required to perform biological cells analysis. Non-uniform AC electric field is required for dielectrophoresis force (DEP) to implement manipulation technique, where the non-uniform AC is generated by microelectrodes designed. The current design has a limitation in term of electric field distribution pattern generated. Thus, ring microarray microelectrode pattern was designed and simulated using COMSOL Multiphysics 4.4 software for implementing one of the main objectives of this study, which is to investigate the electric field distribution resulting from the microelectrodes designed. To optimize the generated DEP force for manipulating biological cells, electric field simulation is very important. The electric field simulation performed by altering some microelectrode geometric design parameters such as the microelectrodes length and the distance between the microelectrodes and the microcavity. The simulation has been shown in this paper. This is intended to simulate the effect of an electric field that results when there are any changes to the geometric design of microelectrodes. Based on the simulation that has been done, the results show the distance between the microelectrodes and microcavity provide more impact in electric field distribution strength compared to the change of the microelectrodes size.

ZigBee Based Monitoring of Temperature and Humidity of Server Rooms using Thermal Imaging 基于ZigBee的服务器机房温湿度热成像监测

Real-time monitoring of temperature and humidity of a computer server room became crucial in order to assure that the performance of the server is not affected due to excessive room temperature and humidity. Unregulated and unmonitored increase in temperature and humidity of server room may also cause damage to equipment. Color mapping algorithm transforms the temperature colors of the image captured by the IP camera while the Bicubic algorithm interpolates data points on a two-dimensional grid. The aim of the system is to provide alert mechanism to the administrator when the server room's temperature and humidity goes beyond the critical value. The creation of the ZigBee based device capable of monitoring temperature and humidity of server rooms using thermal imaging can be used for remote administration and give a primary warning to the person who is in charge of the locality. The device can be used to effectively notify the administrator to avoid server equipment to fail.

A miniature low cost ring laser gyroscope inertial measurement unit 一种小型低成本环形激光陀螺仪惯性测量装置

This paper describes the design, operation and test results of a miniature low cost inertial measurement unit (IMU) that uses low cost dithered ring laser gyroscope and quartzes flexible accelerometer. The hardware configuration of the miniature low cost IMU is introduced, mainly including basic configuration, performance of the ring laser gyroscope and accelerometer. The alignment algorithm and integrated GPS/inertial Kalman filter algorithm are introduced. The static experiments, turntable experiments and outdoor vehicle experiments are performed. Experimental results are presented in this paper showing the performance of the miniature low cost IMU.

Online compensation of inverter non-linearities using a simple voltage disturbance estimator in PMSM drives 用一种简单的电压干扰估计器在线补偿永磁同步电机中变频器的非线性

This paper presents an effective compensation approach to reduce voltage error which is caused by conversion of the command phase voltages to the output voltages of the inverter. As a result of non-ideal behavior of the switching elements during the switching cycle and overall design of the invertor. The disturbance voltages cause deformation of the phase currents, torque pulsation and overall affect the control algorithm of the PMSM. The disturbance observer is developed to instantaneously estimates the disturbance voltages. It is based on the model of PMSM, known machine parameters and easily measurable variables. The validity of the proposed approach is demonstrated through results of simulations and real experiments.

An experimental QoE performance evaluation of HTTP over Multipath TCP 基于多路径TCP的HTTP的实验性QoE性能评估

The emergence of Multipath TCP (MPTCP) technology offers an opportunity for network operators to leverage on fixed and mobile access networks to enhance user's Internet experience. The question is how MPTCP could have impacted web browsing quality of experience (QoE). This paper covers an experimental evaluation to analyze the QoE performance of Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) traffic over MPTCP which emulated in a controlled lab environment. Our analysis focuses on measuring HTTP performance metrics in a real-time simulated high network traffic load. The results conclude that MPTCP boosts HTTP transactions rates and throughput by 10% and 78% respectively. However, the impact of latency recedes 30% of the Web QoE over MPTCP.

An analysis of impedance sensing in lard detection 猪油检测中的阻抗传感分析

This paper aimed to analyze the effect of electrode spacing and number of electrode fingers of interdigitated electrode (IDE) design for impedance based lard characterization. Two types of interdigitated electrode (IDE) sensor was designed with two different spacing and each type have five different numbers of fingers. Impedance measurement is taken by using precision LCR meter 4285A where the frequency used to measured at 4MHz to 5 MHz. The graph of results show the relationship of impedance, frequency supplied and number of electrode teeth with two differences electrode gap of sensor A and sensor B. It was found that the Sensor A with 50 electrode fingers and width of electrode is 0.5 mm with spacing gap of 0.35 is choosen because higher R squared which is 99.5% compared to the Sensor B with same number of fingers and width but different spacing gap is 0.4 mm has 99.4% of R squared value. This is due to the impedance measurement is more sensitive by increasing the contact surface between the electrodes and the sample under test and the effective electrode area is increased. The data analysis is conducted to quantify and characterize the lard sample. And finally, from this data analysis, the impedance characterization are potential for providing the information about lard detection.

Two types of interdigitated electrode (IDE) sensor was designed with two different spacing and each type have five different numbers of fingers. Impedance measurement is taken by using precision LCR meter 4285A where the frequency used to measured at 4MHz to 5 MHz. The graph of results show the relationship of impedance, frequency supplied and number of electrode teeth with two differences electrode gap of sensor A and sensor B. It was found that the Sensor A with 50 electrode fingers and width of electrode is 0.5 mm with spacing gap of 0.35 is choosen because higher R squared which is 99.5% compared to the Sensor B with same number of fingers and width but different spacing gap is 0.4 mm has 99.4% of R squared value. This is due to the impedance measurement is more sensitive by increasing the contact surface between the electrodes and the sample under test and the effective electrode area is increased. The data analysis is conducted to quantify and characterize the lard sample. Analysis of age-related changes in Haversian canal using image processing techniques 利用图像处理技术分析哈弗氏管年龄相关变化

The human skeleton changes with increasing age that alters the structure and number of bone microstructures, which includes osteon, lamellae, and haversian canals. Bone tissues have the capability to store the information of these variations which can be analyzed even after death. Much research has been done on European and American populations to analyze the age related change in haversian canals. This study is conducted on Malaysian population samples to analyze the effect of age related changes on haversian canals. Image processing techniques has been used to extract bone microstructures from microscopic images. The results shows that haversian canals area and number of haversian canals have a positive correlation with increasing age which suggested that haversian canal size increased with growing age.

Vehicle detection based on underneath vehicle shadow using edge features 基于车辆阴影下边缘特征的车辆检测

This paper proposes a computer vision vehicle detection algorithm. The main focus of this proposed algorithm, in which the vehicle is detected based on dynamic traffic scenes. The scene can be recorded using on-board camera that fixed in position to monitor the front traffic. The method that proposed in this vehicle detection algorithm is based on underneath vehicle shadows. The shadows underneath vehicle have a higher intensity compared to the background and road area which advantageous as the main feature for detection. To achieve low computational complexity, the edges feature is detected using a horizontal Sobel operator, which is enhanced by using Scharr operator. Together with blob analysis to detect the wanted features and bounding box is used to label the vehicle detected in the final detection. The algorithm test result shows that the method is effective in the vehicle detection and display a highly accurate result.
