A protocol is proposed for energy transmission in packetized energy distribution networks with power sources and consumers. According to the proposed scheme, energy packets are transmitted simultaneously among multiple nodes. Each power source decides its energy transmission target depending on consumer demands and distances to them. The energy transmission procedure is triggered by an occurring of a consumer demand. The performance of the packtized energy distribution network is confirmed by computer simulations.

Nowadays the segmentation task becomes an important pre-processing stage for the iris classification system. The earlier works in the iris classification field demonstrate a promising result when the classification is performed under an ideal environment. However, the reduction of accuracy is observed when the iris images are captured in non-ideal circumstances. This work is based on the previous work that propose iris segmentation system with ί-Means clustering algorithm. In this work, we evaluate the performance of NMF-based clustering approach to replace the ί-Means algorithm. The iris images from UBIRIS dataset are used to verify the reliability of our work to perform iris region extraction in the unconstrained environments.

Bit-plane decomposition approach has been introduced atey for single trait biometric system such as face, palmprint, and fingerprint recognition. This approach is able to provide promising high performance rate while reducing the data dimensionality. However, this approach has not been tested on multimodal biometric system which uses more than one biometric trait. Hence, this paper introduces a new multimodal biometric system based on face and palmprint fusion with bit-plane decomposition approach. Pixel level fusion is applied by using simple averaging method before bit-plane feature extraction. Principal Component Analysis is also used on the hybrid face-palm bit planes for further dimension reduction before being classified by Feedforward Backpropagation Neural Network. The experimental results show that the proposed system is able to provide high recognition rate.

High-throughput data-bus systems are crucial for recent high-performance computing, especially for data intensive computing. The effective throughput can be improved by applying a lossless data compression with high-throughput codec. This paper proposes a lossless data compression codec using a simple context-base coding. Simulation results of compression ratio show that, compared to existing low-latency compression methods, the proposed method can achieve comparable compression ratios for many benchmark data sets with simple codec structure.

Recently, Kalra and Sood proposed an authentication scheme for Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud environments. In these comments, we demonstrated that several security weaknesses exist in this scheme, including lack of mutual authentication, anonymity, forward secrecy, and a workable key agreement. Furthermore, this scheme is subject to the replay attacks and the impersonation attacks.

With the development of E-Commerce, it's harder and harder for consumers to find the product they want, and the recommendation systems are applied more and more widely. A recommendation system includes user model, the recommended model and recommendation algorithm. The improvement considered in this paper mainly refer to the recommendation algorithm. Limited resource, data valid time and cold start problems are not well considered in existing E-Commerce recommendation system. According to the problems descripted above, a algorithm based on limited resource and a solution to cold start problem are proposed.

Nowadays, the use of Electrocardiogram (ECG) as a detection tool of the condition of human heartbeat is still considered difficult. So, the idea of implementing this sensor is to enhance the quality of service and to minimize the cost of using and maintaining by determining the best way in implementing and monitoring ECG sensor. This research proposes a novel approach to observe the condition of human heartbeat using ECG sensor with e-Health sensor and Raspberry Pi, mini single-board computer with robust capability, which acts as central processing unit. Those hardware sets were assembled to collect ECG voltage signals in human body. The signals are transmitted into the device and the data are stored in MySQL database for long-term monitoring access. The experimental results show effectiveness of this approach as it is successfully fulfill the idea of Body Area Network (BAN).

Currently, high-speed IEEE802.11n interfaces using MIMO have become common in access points (APs) and personal computers (PCs) for wireless local-area networks (WLANs). This trend leads to further expand the application areas for WLANs. In this paper, we present throughput measurement results of IEEE802.11n devices with various placement orientations in indoor environments. They show that measured throughputs are strongly affected by the roll and yaw angles at the installation of AP due to the multiple antennas in MIMO, which should be considered in optimizing the installation of APs in indoor fields.

This paper propose an adaptable block-based background modeling and real time image object detection algorithm. In training step, we present adaptable block-based background model that uses major color number to determine the block size. This background model can reduce the memory consumption, efficiently. In detection step, we use one pixel to compare with background model. Then, it can reduce processing time. The experiment results show that we can save 33.9% memory space. Finally, we can achieve 27.25 frames per second for the benchmark video with image size 768×576.

The paper address the research of the human brain waves relationship to the mind perdition. The brain wave measurement system consist of analog amplifiers, low pass and high pass filters, notch filters, etc. The captured signal will then be converted by the Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) and sent to the computer. The captured signal spans between 0-30Hz, Note that the captured signal also contains some noise. So before the captured signal are passed to the computer it is first passed to the digital noise filter and independent components analysis (ICA) unit. The processed signals are then passed to the support vector machine (SVM) and further processed again by using Genetic Algorithms method. After that the signal are passed to the computer. The computer then group the captured signal to a category. In the future, it will also be possible to measure and group the brain wave signal of a specific disease.
