Post-treatment of biotreated landfill leachate by atmospheric non-thermal plasma jet was proposed. A parallel operation of three atmospheric non-thermal argon plasma jets was applied for leachate treatment with water sample in strong acidic condition $(mathbf{pH} < 2)$. Three cases with different gap distances for 1.5, 3 and 4.5 cm were employed with a $4.5 mathbf{kV}_{text{rms}}$ 50 Hz AC neon sign transformer power source for 60 minutes. In this time, the influence of electrode gap distance $(text{G}_{text{d}})$ of argon plasma jet on the degradation of refractory organic compounds in biotreated landfill leachate was observed. Some key parameters of water quality including pH, DO, temperature, COD and the macromolecules, such as humic and fulvic substances, were measured before and after treatment. The result showed that the maximum removal of COD (33.9%), fulvic (53.3 %), humic (32.2%), and visible humic substances (57.2%) was found with the operating condition in 4.5 cm $text{G}_{text{d}}$ case. It could be confirmed that atmospheric non-thermal Ar plasma had the potential to effectively reduce the refractory organic compounds in wastewater which could be exploited for post-treatment of biotreated landfill leachate.

A four-quadrant analogue multiplier with low-voltage low-power is proposed in this paper. The design techniques are based on sub-threshold CMOS voltage amplifier and the voltage-sum circuit. The circuit can operate for two input voltages range of $pmb{pm 25} mathbf{mV}$, with the harmonic distortion is 1.3%. Furthermore, its features are 0.8 V power supply, $pmb{0.78 mu} mathbf{W}$ power consumption, and 650 kHz bandwidth. The proposed circuit is designed using standard $pmb{0.18 mu} mathbf{m}$ CMOS technology. The SPICE simulation results show the performance of the circuit and confirm the validity of the design technique.

The outdoor RCS measurement technique is crucial for the radar and aeronautical design applications, especially in the face of large objects. Because of the background interference, the multi-bounce effect is unavoidable and will contaminate the measuring result greatly. In this paper, a novel method to eliminate the multi-bounce effect via 3D imaging technique is proposed. Compared with the traditional methods, high-resolution 3D microwave image can separate the desired image from the multi-bounce false images in the image domain by using the difference of the transmission paths. Simulation results show that this method can clearly eliminate the multi-bounce effect of the outdoor RCS measurement.

This paper presents the procedures for performing arc flash hazard assessment in medium voltage switchgear. A cement plant is used as an example to demonstrate the assessment procedures. The results shown that the assessment should consider the operating conditions of the system, to ensure the arc flash hazard level. The contribution of generator changes the short circuit current, which in turn changes the operating time of the protective relays. This results in the significance of increase in the incidentl energy and hazard level at switchgear.

This article presents the AU Automatic Car-Parking Modeling System, hereafter referred to as the AU-CPS. The AU-CPS is a model of an automatic parking system controlled by PLC. It interacts with the user via HMI, driven by three DC motors with the use of photo-electric sensors. A crane is used to lift and take the car from an initial to parking slot and from a parking slot to the exit way. The AU-CPS also shows whether parking is full or not by turning on an LED, and it uses sensors to detect the car in the slot to avoid overlapping in each slot.

This paper presents a design and control of single-phase transformerless grid-connected impedance source inverter. The conventional tranformerless grid-connected inverters might cause the DC offset in the injected currents to the grid due to the leakage current from deteriorated PV panels. The three-switch three-state impedance source inverter can mitigate the leakage current problem by using the grounded pole topology. The introduced single-stage inverter has buck-boost feature, which provides the desired output AC voltage. The single-phase decoupling control method is designed and implemented based on MATLAB/Simulink with the dSPACE DS1104 controller board. Experimental results show the good performance in the transfer power as well as the sinusoidal injected current.

A fast adaptive method to eliminate a single sinusoidal interference of known frequency is proposed. The coupled-oscillator is used to generate the reference signal instead of look-up table. Unlike the least mean square (LMS) based adaptive algorithm, the weighted least squared error criterion is employed instead to evaluate the system parameters. It has been shown that the proposed method can quickly eliminate unwanted interference as compared to previous methods, Moreover, the extensive simulations have been done and revealed that proposed algorithm yields a constant output signal to interference ratio (SIR) of about 20 dB regardless of input SIR.

Increasing penetration of Hybrid Renewable Generator in recent year's present new challenges for planning and optimal operation of the Smart Distribution Network. For this purpose, performance indices introduced for determining the suitable position of HRGs together with shunt-capacitors. However, the hosting capacities of HRG determined by use of Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm. The performance of the proposed methods validated on standards IEEE 34-nodes and IEEE 37-nodes radial distribution networks (RDN). The results have shown improvement of voltage level from O. 902p.u to 1. OOlp.u, reduction of power loss from 1.12MW to 0.64MW and diminished reactive power loss from 0.72MVAR to O.34MVAR by integrating of HRG to RDN. Results suggest that the proposed methods are reliable and can apply to the real radial distribution networks.

A decentralized PID controller design for TITO system combined with inverted decoupling is investigated by using a coefficient diagram method (CDM) when a case study of this control design is an application of Wood-Berry distillation column process and a FOPDT model of the process is considered. As given the CDM parameters, the decentralized PID controller parameters of the Wood-Berry distillation column combined inverted decoupler process can be determined and the proposed control system can regulate the process variables of TITO process. It can be concluded that the designed decentralized PID controller based on inverted decoupling showed a good performance to sustain the controlled variables.

An improved method for estimation of dominant electromechanical mode based on synchrophasor data of interconnected smart grids is proposed. By using synchrophasor measurement, a simplified oscillation model (SOM) and Prony method based on the most recent data can be employed for detection and assessment of estimated inter-area modes. However, some operating conditions, the estimated model is not accurate by means of SOM and prony methods. The proposed method observes decaying signal period. Then, a dominant oscillation mode is evaluated based on synchrophasor data to obtain dominant frequency and damping factor. Finally, the proposed method is compared to existing methods (SOM and Prony) by using simulated synchrophasor data from two-area smart grids.
