Wireless Sensor Networks Fundamentals: A Review 无线传感器网络基础:综述

Wireless Sensor Networks, basically applied to gather information about the environments, consist of various elements interconnection. They are mainly deployed in the areas hard to reach, so they are routinely powered by the batteries. Due to the complexity of WSNs and the impact they have on the 21st century proceeding technology, they have received lots of attention during past decades, hence it is mandatory to study their fundamentals before any forthcoming research. This paper reviews the alphabets of WSNs in a straight scenario, categorizing them in terms of application, routing and connectivity schemes, besides, practical design challenges and energy supply ways have been classified.

Comparing Radar Receiver Pulse Deinterleaving Performance of Differing Window Functions for Bandpass FIR Filter Design 比较带通FIR滤波器设计中不同窗函数的雷达接收机脉冲去交错性能

A radar receiver is designed to identify and process the desired echo from the radar transmission. Therefore, filter implementation is a key part of designing a receiver. This paper focuses on the performance of the Bartlett, Blackman-Harris, Chebyshev, Hamming, and Kaiser windows, which were analyzed by implementing each into a deinterleaving algorithm. Deinterleaving pulses are important because receivers often have signals interleaved with an abundance of noise. By using windows, it can reduce the abundance of noise and increase the performance of deinterleaving algorithms. The separation of the radar pulse trains from the pulse stream provides sufficient information to categorize and describe different signals with pulse descriptor words (PDW), such as Time Of Arrival (TOA), Time Of Departure (TOD), Pulse Width (PW), Pulse Repetition Interval (PRI), etc. This study presents the comparison of the five windowing techniques, the application of Hilbert transforms and envelope detection to analyze how each affects the deinterleaving algorithm. Each technique was analyzed by calculating their Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR), and the amount of information lost by measuring the error margin. From the data observed, the Blackman-Harris had the highest SNR, and the Kaiser window had the lowest percent error. The following sections will demonstrate the performance of each windowing technique.

A Systematic Literature Review in Causal Association Rules Mining 因果关联规则挖掘的系统文献综述

As quoted recently, this is the age of information, and for information we need data. Data is everywhere around us and it is expanding dramatically. The aim of this research is to inspect and summarize the state-of-the-art approaches and studies of machine learning methods to causal inference techniques. This review utilizes a systematic literature research to the mostly prominent digital database libraries in the field of computer sciences in recent years. The objective is to identify and investigate three raised research questions to broadly analyze and detailly explore several points of view concerning causal association rules and their application in real-world problems.

Number Representation and Arithmetic in the Human Brain 人脑中的数字表示和算术

The human brain as a platform for number representation and arithmetic is a complex system that involves a large bilateral network spanning multiple aspects of cognition. Numbers are encoded in the so-called “triple code” that entails verbal, quantitative, and written forms. A healthy individual's brain typically activates these regions in various capacities when performing calculations with multiplication vs. addition, exact computation vs. approximation, and large vs. small operands. In comparison to artificial systems, a human brain is likely to rely more on memorization than counting or sequential arithmetic. This review is motivated by the fact that all the attributes just cited hold potentially valuable lessons for computer engineers aiming for compact, efficient, and energy-frugal system design.

OMSAC - Ontology of Microservices Architecture Concepts 微服务体系结构概念本体

In recent years we have seen an increased interest in Microservices Architecture (MSA), both by industry and academia. It unveiled open challenges and issues in understanding, adoption and implementation of core principles of this recent architectural style. Different approaches have been proposed in literature to organize knowledge about Microservices, as taxonomies and classifications. However, the immaturity of MSA has not been a concern when modelling its knowledge. In this paper, we are proposing an evolutive representation of Microservices Architecture knowledge based on an ontological approach and able to address its immaturity issue.

Deep Learning Technique in Recognizing Hand Grasps using FMG signals 使用FMG信号识别手握的深度学习技术

Grasping objects are common phenomenon in daily human activities. Force myography (FMG) signal, a noninvasive technique can record muscle movements while a human participant grasps different objects and be categorized using machine learning (ML) algorithms. In this paper, a popular deep learning technique is presented for hand grasp recognition. A novel convolutional neural network (CNN) architecture was implemented in learning grasps via force myography. Twelve participants wearing an FMG band on dominant hand's forearm performed six hand grasps. Training dataset consisted of one-handed grasping small objects of different shapes and sizes either wrapping or pinching with fingers with a variety of arm poses. The proposed FMG-based CNN model obtained cross-trial classification accuracy of 96% (population mean) and was found comparable with other ML techniques. Pretranined Alexnet (with ImageNet dataset) through transfer learning was implemented to classify the hand grasps for comparison. The proposed model outperformed the pretrained Alexnet in terms of validation accuracy, loss, and training time. For future FMG-based practical applications, it would be advantageous to use the model for transfer learning where comparatively smaller datasets are desirable for training purpose.

Towards Resilient Adaptive Vehicular Fog Computing 面向弹性自适应车辆雾计算

Vehicles have seen a tremendous development in their capabilities, equipped by many sensors, high computational resources and became smarter than the past. To best utilize the vehicles resources, Vehicular fog computing (VFC) was introduced as a platform for resource sharing. VFC followed the traditional cloud model in many aspects. However, the major challenge facing VFC was infrastructure stability. unpredictable and unplanned arrive and departure of involved vehicles in VFC have a big effect in the system reliability and task completion time. In this paper, we proposed a reliable mitigation for abrupt vehicle departure by live task migration to induce fault tolerant VFC platform capable of hosting state-full and stateless applications. Results showed that the proposed system had a massive positive impact on the task execution time of a fast departing VFC.

An Initial Julia Simulation Approach to Material Handling Operations from Motion Captured Data 从运动捕获数据的材料处理操作的初始朱莉娅模拟方法

Performing modeling simulations with visualization and control can be rather difficult for dynamical models or other diverse applications. This work demonstrates the utility of the Julia programming language to solve this problem by being able to keep a simple condensed code and creating a powerful visual model with various controls. The simulation application is based on material handling tasks that are analyzed for human fatigue from repetitive operations. The aim is to detect human motions when performing the tasks and predict fatigue levels associated with these activities. The Julia simulation development addresses developing a computational solution to generate human subjects performing material handling operations synthetically. With the use of several Julia packages, the simulation development used the data from the Qualisys Motion Capture Systems and rendered each of the 41 points of data of a human subject performing lifting and lowering repetitive task.

The simulation application is based on material handling tasks that are analyzed for human fatigue from repetitive operations. The aim is to detect human motions when performing the tasks and predict fatigue levels associated with these activities. The Julia simulation development addresses developing a computational solution to generate human subjects performing material handling operations synthetically. Delay Optimisation for Multimedia Application in a Wireless Network Control System (WNCS) 无线网络控制系统(WNCS)多媒体应用的时延优化

This paper mathematically modelled email, voice, Internet Browsing traffic (using inter-arrival rates and packet size) individually and then in a shared network (a combination of the Voice, Internet Browsing and Email to the same network/queue) in congested and non-congested conditions under scheduled and unscheduled state. The traffic is then modelled with wireless nodes with the UDP/IP protocol stack. When scheduling is applied, packets arriving from different sources are distributed evenly over time; this is most effective with constant arriving packets but should help with other traffic types. This paper aims to determine the effectiveness of evenly distributed packet arrival times on different traffic types under congested and non-congested network condition. Also, the paper analysed how closely the measured simulated queuing delay and queue size replicates the theoretical estimation. The results show that the measured simulated delated was close to theoretical for the Voice application. However, the margin of error increases with increasing network load. The network performance improved when scheduling was applied. The measured delay and queue size for Internet Browsing is challenging to predict theoretically because of the bursty nature of the traffic. However, it performs better when scheduling was applied. Moreso, the combined traffic of Voice, email, and internet browsing in a shared network performed better after scheduling was applied.
