Introduction: The number of visits to emergency departments in recent years has increased significantly. There are many factors that influence the use of health services and the use that parents make of these services. It has been shown that parental self-efficacy plays a fundamental role in the management of children's health and illness and may also be the case in the use of health services. Objective: The purpose of this narrative review was to explore the role that parental self-efficacy plays in the care of children and the use of health services. Methods: To this end, a bibliographic search was carried out in Pubmed, Cinhal and PsycINFO. Results: No studies were found that directly explored parental self-efficacy and the use of health services. However, the relationship between the concept of self-efficacy and Ascunce Guerrero S, Ruiz-Zaldibar C, Mujika A, Pumar-Méndez MJ... 2019. Horiz Enferm, 30,3, 254-270 256 the management of children's health and minor illnesses shown in the literature points out towards the idea that parental self-efficacy may be playing an important role in the use of health services. Conclusion: Future observational studies are necessary to explore the relationship between parental-self-efficacy and use of service. This information can be of great help in planning health education actions according to the needs of this population and contributing to the sustainability of the system, decreasing unnecessary visits to the emergency departments.

Objective: Compare the social support that people with Diabetes mellitus type 2 receive on four communities in Oaxaca State, Mexico. Methodology: Cross-sectional descriptive and comparative study, with a simple of 152 patients with Diabetes mellitus Type 2 of around20 to 65 years old on four communities of Oaxaca; Pinotepa Nacional, San Lorenzo, San Andres Huaxpaltepec and Santiago Jamiltepec. It was a convenience sampling. Data gathering was made by home visits; their addresses were obtained by health centers of each municipality. Results: In accordance with the discoveries, most of the participants were married women whose average education was completed. It was found major differences of social support per BMI and per municipality. Introduction. Multiple incurable diseases affect the world population, which entails the need to face complex situations, as consequence of pathology and it ́s treatments, palliative care being an alternative care to improve the quality of life of the patients with chronic and terminal renal failure. Objective. To describe the perception of chronic and terminal patient about palliative nursing care. Material and methods. Qualitative, phenomenological study carried out on patients with chronic and terminal illnesses. During the individualized interviews, a trigger question was started, recorded once the verbal consent of the patients had been obtained. We continued with the transcription of the information and content analysis. Ethical research principles were considered. Results. Twenty patients from a hemodialysis unit were interviewed. 55% were men, the longest time the disease evolved was 25 years. Four units of meaning emerged: (1) nursing care, which implied a feeling of security associated with the nurse ́s responsibility; (2) direct communication, manifested by difficulty in establishing communication with the nurse in spite of living together; (3) multidisciplinary team that showed a timely response to complications; and (4) environment, referring to feelings of anger at being cared for in dirty environments. Conclusion. Although it is necessary to address the issue of palliative care with different groups of terminally ill patients, it is appreciated that, although there is communication, multidisciplinary work, sick/nursing personnel cohabitation, it is necessary that the latter be trained and apply palliative care in a formal manner.

Objective: this study aimed to identify the amount of knowledge about BF possessed by nursing staff in an obstetric care facility during 2016. Methodology: this was a crosssectional descriptive study. The study sample comprised the entire nursing staff (n, 71) of the obstetrics department. A questionnaire containing sociodemographic and knowledgerelated variables was administered; questions regarding knowledge-related variables were constructed based on the World Health Organization-recommended document for training health care staff. Knowledge-related variables analyzed were anatomical and physiological bases of the mammary gland, proper handling of breast conditions, acceptable medical reasons for the use of breastmilk substitutes, 10 steps toward successful BF, and how to successfully help BF mothers. The quantitative variables were evaluated using central tendency measures, and the qualitative variables were calculated according to absolute and relative frequency. Results: The correct response percentage in 4 of the 5 factors evaluated was below 50%, he average knowledge of the variables are as follows: anatomical and physiological bases, 29.3%; proper handling of breast conditions, 43%; acceptable medical reasons for the use of breastmilk substitutes, 21.8%; 10 steps toward successful BF, 75.8%; and how to successfully help BF mothers, 35.2%. Conclusion: nursing staff in obstetric care facilities require a better understanding of the concepts involved in BF to be more assertive in the education they provide to BF mothers.

Application of a survey with three questionnaires about what they know and implement as daily practice and prevention of cervical cancer, 158 nurses in training from a private university and 186 from a public university, from Manizales, Colombia between October 2016 and October 2017. Methodology: descriptive correlational. Objectives: Describe and analyze the main care of themselves, knowledge attitudes and practices of nurses in training, on self-care against cervical cancer. The data analysis was performed with Pearson correlation, coefficients of determination and odds ratio. Results and conclusions: Determination of deficient behaviors, of beliefs and practices of prevention, need to modify the cognitive frameworks for the understanding of the neoplasm, risk factors and implications in the state of health. Caring for yourself is a fundamental concept for modifying models of representation, strengthening attitudes and skills that improve self-reflection abilities about the disease.
