Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease increasingly linked to metabolic syndrome, yet the extent of this association remains unclear. This cross-sectional study examined the relationship between psoriasis severity and metabolic syndrome among 122 adults with chronic plaque psoriasis. Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) scores were significantly higher in patients with metabolic syndrome, indicating greater disease severity. Central obesity and dyslipidemia were the most prevalent metabolic factors associated with elevated PASI scores. Thus, we show the importance of routine metabolic screening in psoriasis patients to improve disease management and outcomes.

The biomechanical stability of implant-abutment connections is influenced by abutment screw head design. Therefore, it is of interest to compare fracture resistance, deformation and torque loss among hexagonal, star-shaped and conical screw head interfaces. Forty-five titanium assemblies were loaded axially until failure and outcomes were analyzed with ANOVA and Tukey's test. Conical screws showed significantly higher fracture resistance, lower deformation and better preload retention than other designs (p < 0.001). Thus, we show that conical interface screws provide superior mechanical stability under compressive forces.

Microleakage is a persistent challenge in adhesive dentistry and has a direct effect on the longevity of composite restorations. This in vitro study performed in accordance with the criteria of the preferred guidelines, investigated and compared, microleakage status of restorative bonded with etch-and-rinse, self-etch and universal adhesive systems. Twelve extracted human premolars were restored using standardized class V cavities and then utilized for dye penetration farming after thermocycling. Data analysis demonstrated statistically significant differences in sealing ability with respect to each adhesive group. Universal adhesives demonstrated a lower amount of microleakage than self-etch and etch-and-rinse systems. Microleakage is an important factor in adhesive bonding ultimately dictates failure or success the selection of an appropriate adhesive may relate to the reduction of adhesion and therefore increases the chance of restorative success.

Robotic surgery has transformed the landscape of general surgical procedures by offering enhanced precision, visualization and control. This technology facilitates minimally invasive techniques in complex procedures, resulting in reduced recovery time and postoperative complications. Despite the high cost and technical demands, robotic-assisted surgery continues to expand in indications. Early evidence suggests improved outcomes in colorectal, hernia and hepatobiliary surgeries. Future integration with AI and improved cost-effectiveness may increase accessibility.

The role of physical activity in modifying Parkinson's disease progression is of interest. This longitudinal study followed 118 patients with idiopathic Parkinson's disease over 24 months to evaluate the impact of physical activity on disease progression. Participants were grouped based on physical activity levels sedentary, moderately active and highly active using standardized activity questionnaires. Disease severity was assessed using the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) and Hoehn and Yahr staging. Patients with higher physical activity levels showed slower motor and functional decline compared to sedentary individuals. Thus, we show that regular physical activity may positively influence the trajectory of Parkinson's disease.

Anxiety is common in upper GI disorders and yet data from India is lacking. Therefore, it is of interest to document the proportion and predictors of severity of anxiety in adults with upper GI symptoms. In this cross-sectional study from a tertiary hospital in Bhopal, India, exit interviews of patients >18 years age, with upper GI symptoms were conducted using semi-structured tools. Out of 500 participants, 16.6% had minimal, 16% mild, 53.4% moderate 14% had severe anxiety as per GAD-7 criteria. Being aged 65 and above, married, employed, vegetarian, high likelihood of GERD were predictors, whereas, higher socio-economic status and alcohol consumption were protective against moderate to severe anxiety. Collaborative care models focused on targeted screening for anxiety among these patients is need of the hour.

The prevalence and anatomy of Radix Entomolaris and Radix Paramolaris in mandibular molars of Punjab Population using CBCT is of interest. Among 271 scans reviewed, the overall prevalence of radix roots was 4.05%, with RE found in 2.9% and RP in 1.1% of cases. The average root length was 14.3 mm and the mean curvature was 46.2°. RE was more frequently seen in first molars, while RP appeared slightly more in second molars. These findings highlight the need for awareness of such anatomical variations to ensure better outcomes in endodontic procedures.

Effleurage massage is a gentle, rhythmic technique that may promote relaxation and reduce psychological distress during labor is of interest. Therefore, it is of interest to assess the effectiveness of effleurage back massage on reducing anxiety and labor duration among 180 primigravida mothers in Bharuch, Gujarat. The findings showed a significant reduction in anxiety scores and shorter mean labor duration in the experimental group (p < 0.001). Data shows that effleurage massage is a simple, effective intervention to improve psychological well-being and labor outcomes. It may be recommended as part of intrapartum nursing care for first-time mothers.

The close anatomical relationship between the maxillary sinuses and posterior maxillary teeth fosters a bidirectional link between sinus pathology and a dental infection is of interest. Odontogenic maxillary sinusitis frequently arises from periapical disease, periodontal pathology, or dental procedures, while chronic rhinosinusitis can secondarily impact dental structures. Overlapping symptoms often obscure diagnosis, but advanced imaging such as cone-beam computed tomography enables accurate source identification. Early detection and targeted management of the primary pathology are vital to preventing chronicity and recurrence. Interdisciplinary collaboration between dental and otolaryngology specialists remains essential for achieving optimal outcomes.

A structured breast care session on lifestyle modifications and the lived experiences of post-mastectomy women is of interest. Using a mixed-methods approach, 60 participants were evaluated quantitatively, showing a significant improvement in lifestyle scores (72.85%) after the sessions. Qualitative interviews highlighted themes such as emotional responses, coping mechanisms and family support. Results indicated a strong link between the intervention and improved emotional well-being. Thus, we show that culturally appropriate breast care strategies enhance the recovery and psychosocial health of mastectomy clients.
