Teaching foreign languages especially reading for early chilhood is more challenging and applying an interesting method is needed to improve their ability. Teachers must have known some of easy and fun methods for early chilhood so that the learning process can run well. One method that can be used is the phonics method. Phonics is a method for teaching reading and writing of the English language by developing the letters of the alphabet and their sounds first for their phonemic awareness and an understanding of the links between these sounds and how to use the letters of the alphabet to represent them. A child learning phonics will see a "p" and know that the sound is "puh." This skill will prove incredibly useful when the child is sounding out unknown words and syllables. The strength of this method is the students are easy to make connections between words and sounds. Besides, they can quickly recognise familiar words and to easily sound out new words they encounter. This paper examines the concept of the phonics teaching method and its effectiveness to develop the reading skill for early chilhood.

This research was conducted because students lack in mastering English vocabulary. The data on the field shows that lack of vocabulary is caused by learning materials that are not quite interesting. Therefore, students have difficulty in learning and mastering the material. Since the problems in the field, the researcher tries to apply origami as learning media which attracts students in order to make the learning process interesting and appealing. This research aims to find out the effectiveness of using OPIVO as media learning in teaching vocabulary at seventh grade MTS Mualimin Muhammadiyah of Yogyakarta. The research was conducted at MTS Mu’allimin Muhammadiyah of Yogyakarta in the academic year 2019/2020. This research was an experimental research. This design used two groups, namely the experiment group and the control group, which were randomly chosen to consist of VIIB and VIIC. In this research, the experiment class was given treatment while the control class did not. The collected data used pre-test and post-test. Then, the analysis technique used by SPSS followed by a t-test. The result of the research concluded that using OPIVO as learning media was effective in teaching vocabulary. The t-test result t-count: 2845 and t-table: 1,71387, because Tcount> Ttable, so that the Ho was rejected. Therefore OPIVO (Origami Pinch of Vocabulary) as a learning media was effective to use in learning vocabulary. It can be seen from the data that post-test was better than pre-test. The mean of pre-test was 72.97 and the mean of post test was 77.43.

This research aims to identify types of code-switching and code-mixing found in some of “Murder on The Orient Express” movie dialogues and utterances. The source of the data in this research is the dialogue in Murder on The Orient Express movie. To achieve the aims of this research; the researcher uses the descriptive qualitative research method. There are two types of code-switching consisting of metaphorical code-switching and situational code-switching and two types of code-mixing consisting of outer code-mixing and inner code-mixing. From the results of this study, the authors found 50 data of code-mixing and code-switching and as many as 4 or 8% metaphorical code-switching data, 2 or 4% situational code-switching data. The author also found 44 or 88% outer code-mixing data, and 0 or 0% inner code-mixing data. The aim is to determine the effect of vocabulary mastery and motivation to improve descriptive writing skills. Writing must be applied in class according to the right formula and obtained through practice. The accuracy of this learning formulation requires motivation because it will be able to improve the quality of student learning more diligently when they have high motivation. Motivation can always determine the intensity of learning efforts and learning achievement for students. This research was conducted in class XI SMA Negeri in Purwakarta District, Purwakarta Administrative City, West Java Province, for the 2017/2018 academic year. In this area, there are 2 public high schools that will be used as sources of research data, namely SMA Negeri 2 Purwakarta and SMA Negeri 1 Purwakarta. The purpose of this study is to improve students' writing skills in English using Think Pair Share Learning Strategy. The method for this research is Classroom Action Research. The researcher will try to use the Think Pair Share strategy properly to solve problems in Teaching Writing at BIT BINA AULIA Vocational High School. The object of the research in this study is grade 10 students. Think Pair Share not only makes students think individually but also builds Communication Skills when all students are asked to present and share their thoughts and the result of discussions with their partners, or in front of the class. This research is established in two cycles within four steps for each cycles: plan, action, observation, and reflection. In reflections, the researcher finds things to improve the next cycle. Students’ worksheets have to show a good result to see how much students have improved their writing skills in hope and conclusion that the Think Pair Share Learning strategy can be used as a variation of learning to improve English writing skills

Listening is something that everyone can do it, especially now that there are many media that use English as a basis for learning an aspect. The habit of listening to music, or sounds from films that use English makes the addition of vocabulary increases with time as a result of these habits. Regardless of what genres are listened to and what kind of films are served, if we often listen to something that is used in English, it will increase our understanding of the vocabulary we have. With many songs or films that use English, it will make our ears respond to the brain for what it receives. Because when we often listen to something using English the brain will respond quickly to whatever it gets. This makes the brain store more vocabulary that it receives.
