A 0.5V Low-Power All-Digital Phase-Locked Loop in 65nm CMOS Process for Wireless Sensing Applications 应用于无线传感的65纳米CMOS工艺0.5V低功耗全数字锁相环

Due to the limited energy supply of wireless sensor nodes, minimizing their power consumption has become a primary concern to increase their battery lives. These sensor nodes require clock signals to process data and to synchronize with other sensor nodes in the network. However, clock generator circuits usually consume a lot of power. This work addresses this problem by implementing a low-power all-digital phase-locked loop (ADPLL) in a 65nm CMOS process with a low operating voltage of 0.5V. Its output frequency range is 0.285 – 48MHz with a power consumption of 8.25µW at 23MHz. With the use of the frequency estimation algorithm, the ADPLL is able to achieve fast lock-in time within 5 reference clock cycles with frequency errors of less than 1.5%.

Detection of Anomalous Vital Sign of Elderly Using Hybrid K-Means Clustering and Isolation Forest 基于混合k均值聚类和隔离森林的老年人异常生命体征检测

Age-related changes to vital signs indicate the possibility of a health condition which requires attention. A deviation from normal in vital signs might be an anomaly and indicate an important warning sign of changing health and indicators of the severity of illness that needs an immediate and reflexive response. Once anomalies are detected at the right time, the system will result in reflexive stimulus and will inform it to the care giver. It leads to the good and fast response of outcomes to save the patient’s life. In this study, we proposed hybrid technique of K-Means clustering and isolation forest to detect anomalies. To evaluate the reliability of proposed hybrid technique, we compare existing isolation forest algorithm and hybrid technique of K-Means clustering and isolation forest on labeled datasets obtained from public. The results show that our hybrid technique is more sensitive in detecting anomalies. Applied on some labelled data, hybrid technique has lower error rate. For some labelled data, the hybrid technique has high error rate.

Hardware Efficient Approximate Adder Design 硬件高效近似加法器设计

This paper presents a new approximate adder architecture which when implemented on an FPGA consumes fewer logic resources compared to accurate adders of similar size and can achieve higher or comparable operating frequencies. For 32-bit addition, our approximate adder achieves a 25% reduction in the number of LUTs utilized compared to the accurate adder with no compromise on the speed performance. For 64-bit addition, our approximate adder achieves a 24% improvement in the maximum operating frequency, and a 25% reduction in the number of LUTs utilized compared to the accurate adder (post place and route on a Virtex-7 FPGA device). We also make comparisons with the FPGA-based implementations of some well-known gate-level approximate adders, and further provide insights into the error characteristics showing that the proposed approximate adder has a reduced error range.

Modelling and Simulation of Handover in Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) Network 光保真(Li-Fi)网络切换建模与仿真

The demand of a faster and more secure wireless communication system leads to the development of a new and innovated network in future. Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) is being researched to provide a better wireless network communication. In this communication technology, light from Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) has been used for data transmission. The purpose of this research work is to investigate the performance of handover algorithms in a Li-Fi network. Two handover algorithms are Closest Access Point (AP) (CAP) and Maximum Channel Gain (MCG). MATLAB simulation results are presented to evaluate those two types of handover algorithms and to show the impacts of UE’s rotation and movement on handover performance.

A Study on Modeling and Verification of the Percentage Differential Relay for the Protection of AC Electric Railway Feeding System 交流电力铁路馈电系统百分率差动继电器的建模与验证研究

In general, a Scott-transformer is used to supply the single-phase power for the Korean AC electric railway feeding system. In particular, the Korean Autotransformer feeding system has a different configuration compared to those of other countries, therefore, it has certain distinctive characteristics. In addition, a percentage differential relay is widely and globally utilized for protecting the transformers. However, detailed modeling and simulation for the relay protecting the Korean AC electric railway feeding system is not performed enough. Thus, in this paper, we modeled and verified the percentage differential relay for AC electric railway feeding system by using PSCAD/EMTDC. A simple method to prevent malfunction due to a saturation of the current transformer is suggested as well.

Automated Neural Network Accelerator Generation Framework for Multiple Neural Network Applications 多神经网络应用的自动神经网络加速器生成框架

Neural networks are widely used in various applications, but general neural network accelerators support only one application at a time. Therefore, information for each application, such as synaptic weights and bias data, must be loaded quickly to use multiple neural network applications. Field-programmable gate array (FPGA)-based implementation has huge performance overhead owing to low data transmission bandwidth. In order to solve this problem, this paper presents an automated FPGA-based multi-neural network accelerator generation framework that can quickly support several applications by storing neural network application data in an on-chip memory inside the FPGA. To do this, we first design a shared custom hardware accelerator that can support rapid changes in multiple target neural network applications. Then, we introduce an automated multi-neural network accelerator generation framework that performs training, weight quantization, and neural accelerator synthesis.

Mobile Application Network Behavior Detection and Evaluation with WGAN and Bi-LSTM 基于WGAN和Bi-LSTM的移动应用网络行为检测与评估

In this paper, we present a modeling and learning method to analyze the network behavior of mobile applications based on the Android platform. Various application system sand environmental factors are simulated in order to trigger different categories of application behaviors. The sequence of network event behavior is retrieved and classified according to the behavior sequence combination using a Bi-directional Long Short-term Memory network. The trained classifier is applied to separate Android apps in eight different categories for normal behaviors, and achieves an optimal classification accuracy of 96.89%. The trained model can further be extended for the purpose of malware detection. In addition, we use Wasserstein Generative Adversarial networks to enhance the data and thus efficiently magnify the underlying behavior features in the training dataset. This solves the problem of limited data samples and time overhead and increases the diversity of data. The accuracy of the original Bi-LSTM model is further improved by 9% across the tested categories of Android apps.

Tunable Aperture with Single layer Blades Actuated by Thermal Expansion of Silicon Beams 硅梁热膨胀驱动的单层叶片可调孔径

A tunable aperture with single layer blades actuated by thermal expansion of silicon beams is developed. The tunable aperture that consists of blade including misaligned silicon chevron beam can achieve high displacement of the blade. To design the desired tunable aperture, COMSOL MULTIPHYSICS simulator and MEMS fabrication process are used. The dimension of the tunable aperture is 10.2mm X 10.2mm X 0.365mm. In the results, diameter of the fabricated tunable aperture is achieved 1.6mm under no applied voltage and 1.25mm under applied voltage of 3V. Also it has analog state compared to other type of tunable aperture. Using the tunable aperture could obtain 3D image and distance information in a single camera system simultaneously.

Gait Type Classification Using Smart Insole Sensors 使用智能鞋垫传感器进行步态类型分类

In this paper, we propose a gait type classification method using various sensors in a smart insole. The measured data are normalized to the unit step of the same length in order to reduce the variation of the speed according to the measurement point and the situation even within the same gait type. From the normalized data of the individual sensors, the discriminant features useful for gait type classification are extracted by using the Null-Space Linear Discriminant Analysis (NLDA), one of the representative discriminant analysis methods. As a result of experiments on the data measured for the seven gait types, our method gives a good performance of gait type classification.

An Efficient Scheme for Supporting Network Mobility in Partially Distributed Mobility Management 部分分布式移动管理中支持网络移动的有效方案

In this paper, we apply the Network Mobility protocol (NEMO), which is capable of managing group - based network mobility, in a partially Distributed Mobility Management (DMM) environment. This paper proposed an efficient scheme to support network mobility. When the PR initially accesses the AR, it requests the AR for two prefixes. The first prefix is the Home Network Prefix (HNP), required for the configuration of PR’s IP address and the other is Mobile Network Prefix (MNP) which is required for IP configuration of MN. Therefore, even if the MN is added, it is expected that the packet transmission cost is better as compare to the existing schemes, as there is no need for prefix request and information update related signaling between PR and Centralized Mobility Database (CMD). Through analytical results we have shown that our proposed scheme outperforms the existing schemes in terms of packet delivery cost.
