Automatic Identification of Epileptic Focus on High-Frequency Components in Interictal iEEG 间歇期脑电图中癫痫焦点高频分量的自动识别

The localization of the seizure focus affected by epilepsy is crucial for epilepsy treatment due to observing long-term interictal intracranial electroencephalogram (iEEG) for categorizing the patterns of seizures by the neurological experts. Therefore, a computer-aided system based on machine learning method for automatic localization of focal patterns is promising future. In this study, we presents a filter-bank entropy-based feature-extraction approach in high-frequency components to detect epileptic focus, which consider a valid biomarkers to guide epilepsy surgery. The experimental results on real-world interictal iEEG recorded from eight patients demonstrate that our proposed method can achieve average AUC 0.79, which can reduce the workload of clinical experts for detection of epileptic focal.

Developing a Procedural Problem-solving-based Framework of Computational Thinking Components 开发一个基于程序问题解决的计算思维组件框架

This study intended to explore the definitions and components of CT (computational thinking) and establish a framework that depicts the relationship between CT and problem-solving procedures. The framework is expected to aid in the development of CT pedagogy and assessment. CT is defined as a problem-solving process and method, utilizing "computer science concepts" and "digital technology skills" to develop strategic methods to solve specific problems, and ten components are synthesized as the main facets of CT in correspondence with the progressive phases of problem-solving. The CT framework is expected to provide guidelines for teachers and students to understand the essence of CT so that students' higher order thinking can be promoted osmotically.

A Study on Self-Regulated Mobile Learning Model with Real-Time Diagnosis to Students' Learning Behaviors 实时诊断学生学习行为的自主移动学习模式研究

A mobile learning with real-time diagnosis combined with self-regulated learning is developed in this study to compare students' use of the concept map learning with the real-time diagnosis. The experimental result reveals that the mobile learning model with real-time diagnosis could assist in effective connection of new and old knowledge in the field observation to achieve the meaningful learning. Moreover, the learning model could help students constantly precede self-regulated learning in the time learning process.

Seeking and Sharing Electronic Word-of-mouth in the Context of Accommodation Service 在住宿服务的背景下寻求和分享电子口碑

This research examines the role of satisfaction within the relationship among electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM) receiving and customer satisfaction and eWOM sharing in accommodation services. This article uses the variance-based partial least square to estimate the structural model, showing results that receiving reliable eWOM is positively associated with satisfaction, whereas receiving rich eWOM is not. Moreover, the results present that satisfaction positively affects the sharing of eWOM. The social benefit motivation moderates the relationship between satisfaction and providing eWOM. The findings provide valuable insights for practitioners in the management of word-of-mouth.

The Quest for Increased Learning: Systematically Aligning and Assessing Learning Outcomes 追求提高学习:系统地调整和评估学习成果

Faculty at large research universities are generally more focused on research than on careful assessment of student learning. When faced with the task of assessing student learning, faculty initially have little interest and view the effort as only valuable to satisfy accreditors or other external pressures. Researchers at a large US based university have worked for over a decade to improve faculty motivation for creating and using learning outcomes. During this decade the researchers have examined which factors are most important in helping faculty understand and own this process. Most U.S. colleges and universities are being asked to: 1) publish expected learning outcomes for each of their programs, 2) provide evidence that the expected learning outcomes are realized by students, and 3) demonstrate how such data collection and analyses leads to continuous improvement of student learning, the curriculum, and the university. This is a significant challenge, especially for large schools with many students. This paper illustrates 1) obstacles and challenges, 2) innovative strategies—some technological—employed to address the obstacles and challenges, and 3) current and future strategies for improved success. Institutional, college-wide, discipline-specific, and individual faculty perspectives to a systems approach of bridging assessment, learning outcomes, and accreditation will be presented. The importance of student involvement and public scrutiny throughout the process is highlighted.

The present study examines how social and cognitive awareness instruction is able to promote learning by using technological tools including "Zuvio", an "Interactive Response System", annotation using Google-Docs, and mind-mapping using "Draw-express". The result indicated that this technological awareness instruction may facilitate learning motivation, but not achievement test.

Proposal of a "Disposable Camera" App Providing Sensory Reality of Analog Operation on Smartphone 提供智能手机模拟操作感官现实感的“一次性相机”应用方案

Disposable Camera, officially called "Film with lens", which was widely used in the 1980s and 1990s, is now attracting public attention again, creating a boom. It was common that people owned no cameras in the 1980s and 1990s before the devices like digital cameras and smartphones became widespread. It led to the spread of "Disposable Camera" on a global scale, which were available at a low price for people to purchase from stores such as convenience stores when they were on business or personal trip. Though most people own smartphones with advanced digital camera function today, analog film camera or "film with lens" with considerably low picture quality and fewer functions made a comeback and are gaining popularity. The reason lies in the "reality" felt in the use of the camera as a tool. It refers to a series of tasks with the simple "Analog Camera" - recording objects on the film and printing out the pictures on papers. The process gives younger generations, who are not familiar with analog cameras, a feeling of novelty and interest. "Disposable Camera" gives the "realistic feel of using analog device" which film cameras provide, and users can easily enjoy that feel. This is considered to be generating a great demand for disposable cameras, but they are bulky, larger and have less mobility compared to smartphones. The current generation who are used to smartphones might feel uncomfortable using these cameras. Thus, this study proposes an application that represents "Disposable Camera" on smartphone.

Bot Computing using the Power of Wiki Collaboration 利用Wiki协作的力量进行Bot计算

Bot computing using the power of Wiki collaboration and an experimental implementation of the bot running environment are discussed. While botnets are usually created for malicious purposes, the bot computing in this study aims to use bots for beneficial purposes. The massively parallel and persistence features of a botnet can enhance its computing power and high availability for beneficial computing. Bot computing can also enhance people's collaboration by introducing dynamic Web pages to previously static Wiki networks. Parallel dynamic programming for solving a minimal path problem is shown as an example. Resources such as the number of bots and the number of web pages were proportional to the number of nodes, and the time to solve the minimal path problem was proportional to the number of arcs of the minimal path.

While botnets are usually created for malicious purposes, the bot computing in this study aims to use bots for beneficial purposes. The massively parallel and persistence features of a botnet can enhance its computing power and high availability for beneficial computing. Bot computing can also enhance people's collaboration by introducing dynamic Web pages to previously static Wiki networks. Parallel dynamic programming for solving a minimal path problem is shown as an example. Shape Recovery of Polyp Using Blood Vessel Detection and Matching Estimation by U-Net 基于血管检测和U-Net匹配估计的息肉形状恢复

In the medical diagnosis, endoscopic polyps are examined and discrimination between benign and malignant is judged via the visual observation by a medical doctor. Estimating size of the polyp is important because the larger polyp tends to become malignant if the size is more than 1 cm since it is not easy to estimate the size of the polyp except medical doctors who have several years of experience. This paper proposes reliable correspondence between two images with a slight movment of endoscope using ORB features estimating the absolute size of polyp using blood vessel information in the endoscopic images. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is confirmed via experiments.

Virtual Obstacles for Safe Mobile Robot Navigation 基于虚拟障碍物的移动机器人安全导航

Safe mobile robot navigation is important in both indoor and outdoor environments. In static environments, path planning of mobile robots is mainly governed by factors like shortest paths selection. However, in dynamic scenarios, some paths may be blocked temporarily (for ex. for cleaning) while others may not suitable for robot navigation due to high traffic. In such scenarios, robots must avoid using such paths. This paper proposes a method to actively block such paths by using virtual obstacles. The virtual obstacles can be placed or removed by a user anywhere on the map permanently or for specific intervals. The robot's global path is planned by considering the influence of virtual obstacles. Experiments in real scenarios shows that the proposed method is able to alter the global paths of the robots for safe navigation.
