Adaptive Crowd Control using Promotion Signage to Promote Smooth Evacuation 使用促销标志的自适应人群控制促进顺利疏散

Crowd control is one of the ways to prevent unexpected events at places where a large number of people gather. With technology developments, new evacuation systems are proposed in prevention planning. Recently, digital promotion signage has been used recently for promotion and advertising in public and commercial spheres. It is pointed that digital promotion signage attracts more attention than the traditional emergency-exit sign and the effect of the digital promotion signage to control human evacuation flow is verified by simulations. In this paper, we discuss a method that changes the contents of signage adaptively to the situations of congestion. This idea provides one solution for situations that many people are caught in the congestions and applying the idea to new application fields is also discussed.

Teachers' Reluctance in a BYOD Elementary Classroom 小学BYOD课堂中教师的不情愿

This study aims to reveal teachers' concerns on classroom practices of an elementary school where the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program had been implemented for years. Although BYOD has gained in popularity across the world and the possible educational benefits have been discussed thoroughly, little is known about the actual presence of personal devices in classroom after a number of years. The purpose of this study is to investigate why teachers who engaged in BYOD for years have reservations toward the BYOD programs. Drawing on an ethnographic study of one pioneer BYOD elementary school in Taiwan, this study details ways in which the sustainability of personal digital devices and related practices in classroom encountered great challenges from the teacher's perspective. In particular, borrowed from an Actor-Network Theory (ANT) framework, this study identified two types of reluctance: reluctance to be enrolled in and reluctance to be excluded respectively. These teachers' reluctance to accomplishing the needed assemblage resulted in reservations toward BYOD programs. The negotiated actions enacted by teachers' translation in order to maintain the unwelcomed network have important implications for BYOD policy stakeholders. This longitudinal study demonstrated a picture different from the novelty effect normally reported in BYOD literature.

Triggering Research Creativity and Increasing Efficiency Through Open Innovation Platforms 通过开放式创新平台激发研究创造力,提高效率

Innovation stimulation and creativity support Systems (CSS) have been rapidly gaining importance in research activities. However, the overall outcome is still lagging behind the other areas of creativity studies, even though the strong influence of recent developments in the context of digitization and Web 2.0 has been discussed in scholarly publications. With this paper, the authors intend to link recommendations from an innovative creativity research scenario, which applies open online innovation technology, with previous results regarding creativity stimulation trends in online learning support systems and e-science platforms. This linkage is achieved by applying selected results from the aforementioned areas to the practice of innovative research and learning processes. The corresponding open innovation platform is recently developed as part of a trans-European Horizon 2020 flagship project. General system assessments, derived from user feedback in the presented Delphi survey, might be useful to optimize the research support algorithms. Specifically, authors conclude a platform management to modify their own information seeking behavior and respective information management technology in order to apply the potential of open innovation platforms more effectively. Even though scientists' awareness of the usefulness of Web 2.0 technologies is still insufficient, the base is created to enhance their research output by the creativity-supporting capabilities of new recommendation engines, designed for open learning and innovation platforms.

STEAM-blended programming education is considered to be particularly effective for training computational thinking. In this paper, we aim to develop a web-based learning environment for STEAM-blended programming education. The proposed system can provide the learning materials of JavaScript that can easily carry out STEAM education at educational institutions. To effectively realize STEAM-blended programming education, visual programming is useful. Therefore, first, we will examine the learning effectiveness of visual programming. Next, we will develop a web-based programming learning support system based on "Mathematics" learning with JavaScript. After the above, the concept of STEAM-blended learning material using LEGO Mindstorms EV3 is shown.

A Social Recommendation Mechanism for P2P Currency Exchange P2P货币兑换的社会推荐机制

In recent years, there are growing numbers of people going abroad for studying and traveling which indicates that the demand of currency exchanges is increasing. However, some problems are existed when we exchange currency through the banks. Consequently, the new financial service called P2P currency exchange emerged which aims to disrupt the foreign exchange (FX) markets. In this paper, we propose a recommendation mechanism for P2P currency exchange which is based on social networks and analyze users' preference, similarity and location-based service. Then evaluating social trust by social influence computing. We look forward to providing proper candidates and encouraging sharing economy in finance sector which greatly decrease the cost of currency exchange

Analysis of the Efficiency of Speculative Parallel Computation 推测并行计算的效率分析

Parallel computing is a method of increasing the efficiency of computation in order to solve combinatorial optimization problems, which involve enormous computational complexity. However, conventional parallelization cannot fully utilize computational resources. Speculative computation is another method of parallel computation. We have analyzed theoretically that speculative computation is more effective than conventional parallel processing in some cases. However, analysis of the condition is insufficient. In this paper, we confirm one of the conditions experimentally.

Examining the Effects of Automatic Comment Classification on Comment Types in Peer Review for Graduate Students' Academic Writing 自动评语分类对研究生学术写作评语类型影响的研究

Although previous studies have confirmed the effect of peer review on academic writing, graduate students are usually unable to provide appropriate comments in peer review. As a result, their comments cannot effectively help authors revise academic papers. For this reason, in order to improve the quality of students' comments, this study aims to provide peer reviewers with feedback of the automatic classification of their comments in an existing peer review system, so that reviewers can improve their comments for writers. In order to examine its effect, this study designs an experiment in an academic writing course for first-year graduate students in two semesters. In the experimental group, peer reviewers are provided with the feedback, while students in the control group did not receive any feedback. The results showed that the graduate students in the experimental group consciously improved their comments after receiving the feedback, especially on the cognitive dimensions (e.g., increasing guidance) and the metacognitive dimensions (e.g., increasing evaluating comments). The findings may provide a direction for students to write high-quality comments and improve writing proficiency.

Combining Virtual Reality Advertising and Eye Tracking to Understand Visual Attention: A Pilot Study 结合虚拟现实广告和眼动追踪来理解视觉注意力:一项试点研究

This paper aims to design a virtual reality eye tracker for the analysis of dynamic behavior of viewers when watching a virtual reality (VR) commercial advertising. Seven experimental participants were recruited for the pilot study. Experiment contents included a one-minute VR commercial advertising designed with Unity 3D development tool and through integration into eye tracking device of a head-mounted display (HMD), eye movements of participants were recorded. The finding results of the paper showed that: 1) when watching the VR commercial advertising, participants did not put the first sequence of gaze in each dynamic regions of interest (ROIs) in the commercial object; 2) in terms for concentration span sequence of gaze in each dynamic ROIs, if participant gazed the commercial object, more concerns were put and there was longer time for gazing; on the contrary, there was no eye movement information about gazing at the commercial object; 3) when watching the VR commercial advertising, the commercial object did not receive longer total gazing time and numbers of relative concentration gazing of participants spending on all dynamic ROIs. According to experimental results, we concluded that the VR 360-degree VR film affects the expected outcome in the operation of eye tracking technology.

To correspond to drastic change in international society such as "globalization", graduate education plays a key role in development of human resources. The new trans-graduate-school education program called "Nitobe School" was launched in 2015 as one of the main education projects of "Top Global University Project" in Hokkaido University. This is a case report about the role of mentors to develop graduate students' transferable skills.
