In this paper, effects of a critical structural parameter, beam-to-column stiffness ratio (on seismic lateral force distribution and its corresponding displacement (s) on frame members were observed. For this purpose, analysis of 12 samples of a 10-storey frame structure having varying beam/ column stiffness was carried out with the help of software facilities. To save time in the modelling and parameterization of the frame structure, a programming tool has been developed combining the functionality of VBA based excel software, Matlab and SAP2000 OAPI. With the help of this tool, parametric analysis of a significant number of frame models can automatically be generated and executed in SAP2000 in a lesser time of 139.0secs and at a less expense of user input. The core interest in performing the analysis is to estimate the responses of varieties of weakcolumn/strong-beam and strong-column/weak-beam multi-story frame subjected to seismic lateral forces by modelling the frame in its actual form[SAP2000] and idealized stick model [hand computation]. From the analysis of the various models, comparison of SAP2000 lateral force distribution and displacement of frame models is made with that of hand calculation.

Grain size distribution plays a vital role for characterization of soil. Particle size distribution (PSD) in a soil mass is a character which gives a major idea about bearing capacity of soils and bearing capacity of the soil is a key parameter to design foundation of any civil engineering structure. Indian Standards has classified the soils as per particle size gradation. As per I S Code range of the particle size varies from boulder to clay. This paper discusses about the results of particle size distribution of varied soil stratum at a construction location in Jabalpur M.P. Present paper also suggests some recommendations about types of foundation and suitable methods for ground improvement .

This paper presents design and implementation of Analog Data Acquisition System based on Field Programming Gate Array and 12 bit Analog Digital Conversion Chip ADC128S002. Research presents soft core Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART) model and an additional soft core acquisition model to transmit acquired data at high data baud rate. This paper mostly focused on hardware design and system architecture. Acquisition system is developed using Very high speed integrated circuit Hardware Description Language (VHDL). This system is able to provide converted digital data to the external environment through serial data communication at baud rate 115200. In association this design leaves a choice to configure a maximum number of channels at run time through application protocol which will be used by the controller periodically.

The aim of this paper is to design a Fuzzy soft matrix for Ebola virus disease diagnosis, by using the notion of fuzzy soft matrices. We apply fuzzy soft set technology through the well known Sanchez’s approach for HUMAN BODY DISEASE diagnosis. Further, we extended our approach in the sector of addition and multiplication factors of fuzzy soft matrices based on reference function. Sanchez’s formulated the diagnostic models involving fuzzy matrices representing the medical knowledge between the symptoms and diseases.

A landfill is a secured engineered pit in the ground into which the wastes are dumped. Proper landfill liners need to be used to avoid any hydraulic connections between waste and surrounding environment. These liners can be created of different materials of which sand-bentonite mixtures are attracting greater attention. The sand bentonite mixture is a mixture of two different materials in terms of their particle size and chemical activity to produce a material with low hydraulic conductivity, low compressibility and sufficient strength. Low hydraulic conductivity of the mixture is due to the ability of bentonite particles to swell and fill the voids between the sand particles and whereas sand framework provides low compressibility. In this work, 80% sand and 20% bentonite were taken for the sand-bentonite mixture, on which various preliminary tests and secondary tests were carried out to study the properties of the mixture. The Optimum Moisture Content (OMC) and Maximum Dry Density (MDD) were determined by Standard Proctor Test. Variation of unconfined compressive strength with curing period as well as with the water content on sand-bentonite mixture were obtained from the results of the tests performed in order to get the optimum curing period and water content. Hence, a suggestion can be made as to when the maximum Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS) will occur at a particular curing period.

In this paper fuzzy logic based square root information filtering (SRIF) algorithm for target image centroid tracking is presented proposed. It combines certain merits of the fuzzy logic (FL) and (SRIF) algorithm for target tracking. A data fusion study in the context of image-centroid fusion is also presented with certain parametric studies. The performance metrics are evaluated by utilizing sequence of synthetic images. Implementation is carried out in MTALAB.
