A STUDY ON PREVALENCE OF PRE MENSTRUAL SYNDROME, ITS ASSOCIATION WITH DIETARY HABITS AND STRESS LEVELS AMONG ADOLOSCENT GIRLS STUDYING IN GIRLS COLLEGE OF HYDERABAD 海得拉巴女子学院青春期女生经前综合症患病率及其与饮食习惯和压力水平的关系研究

Pre-Menstrual Syndrome is a group of physical, psychological, and emotional symptoms that begins 7-14 days before menses and fade once menses begins. PMDD is a psychiatric diagnosis of PMS. The cause of PMS is unknown. Hence studies need to be conducted to know the various lifestyle and dietary habits that increases the risk of PMS. The aim was to study the dietary pattern of adolescent girls aged 17-19 years of Girls college of Hyderabad during the PMS period. The objectives were to study the prevalence, association between lifestyle habits, dietary pattern and stress with PMS in these adolescent girls. Adolescent girls of Girls College, answered a self- constructed, pre tested, standardized questionnaire for the prevalence study. Information on lifestyle and dietary habits, dietary preferences and symptoms observed in PMS period, and the observed stress level was collected. Chi – square test and non- parametric test was done to interpret the data. Among the 300 respondents, 19.3% had PMDD, 46.3% had moderate to severe PMS and 34.3% had mild/no PMS. There was an association between PMS and consuming high calorie foods, herbal teas during PMS period (p is less than 0.05) and also with stress (pis less than0.05) Reducing high calorie foods help to reduce PMS symptoms. Adequate sleep, less screen time and avoiding skipping of meals, consuming less fast food would reduce the prevalence. Having higher level of stress increases the risk of developing PMS or even PMDD.

HERBAL SYNTHESIS OF IRON DOPED COBALT OXIDE NANOPARTICLE AND ITS APPLICATIONS 草药合成铁掺杂氧化钴纳米颗粒及其应用

Iron doped cobalt oxide nanoparticles were prepared by using Eclipta alba leaves extract. The structural, optical and phase analysis of the synthesized nanoparticles are investigated by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Ultraviolet Visible Spectroscopy (UV), and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) respectively. Scanning Electron microscope (SEM), Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDX) and Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) are used to study the surface morphological, elemental analysis and the hydrodynamic size of the prepared nanoparticles. Methylene Blue (MB) and Congo Red (CR) dye degradation efficacy of the iron doped cobalt oxide nanoparticles are examined using UV. Antibacterial activity for three different bacteria was done using disc diffusion method. Capacitative property of FeCo2O4 was proved by Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) analysis. Thermodynamic properties of the herbal synthesized particle were investigated using Ultrasonic technique using propylene glycol as a base fluid.

NANOPARTICLE AIDED TUMOR TARGETING AND CANCER DETECTION 纳米粒子辅助肿瘤靶向和肿瘤检测

Cancer refers to a collective group of diseases involving abnormal, uncontrolled cell proliferation with the potential to spread to the other tissues from the location of origin. Various modes of treatments such as radiotherapy, chemotherapy, surgical methods, etc. are commonly available. However, these approaches are not very cost-effective and are accompanied by side effects. An emerging approach of targeted drug delivery or smart drug delivery with the assistance of nanoparticles (NPs) and also in combination with immunological therapies has proven to show great potential in cancer treatment with an additional advantage of having the least side effects. Stimulus-sensitive smart nanomaterials have been designed to specifically target the cancer cells, causing no damage to the healthy cells. This is attained using Poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA), PEGylated NPs, αvβ3-integrin-specific lipid NPs, NP-based radiosensitizers (NBRs), and NP drones. Moreover, not only the specific targeting but the advances allow the detection of these drug-loaded NPs with the help of plasmonic Biosensor and fluorescence nanoprobes that emits fluorescence as it comes in contact with the target. This article describes the application of NPs in targeting the tumor cells as well as the recent researches going on to facilitate easier & cheaper modes of treatment using nanotechnology.

SCRUB TYPHUS DISEASE OUTBREAK AT CHEURAL VILLAGE, LAWNGTLAI DISTRICT, MIZORAM, NORTH-EAST INDIA 印度东北部米佐拉姆邦朗莱县cheural村丛林斑疹伤寒暴发

Scrub typhus, which is one of the rickettsial diseases, is an acute, febrile illness in men caused by the pathogen, 18 a gram-negative bacterium Orientia tsutsugamushi from the bite of infected mite. Outbreaks of scrub typhus have been reported from various parts of North, South, and Eastern India. There was a report of two unfortunate death cases from Cheural village due to scrub typhus at Lawngtlai district hospital. While, multiple cases, having symptoms like scrub typhus illness were also reported by health officials of the residents of Cheural village, Lawngtlai District, Mizoram. Among the 242 person tested, 80 (33.05%) person were found reactive with Weil felix PROGEN OXK at 1:160 titre value. Maximum numbers of cases were observed among the working age group 20-60 years. Among the different occupational groups, farmers were the most affected as more than 90% of the villagers were involved in forest farming. The five captured rodents’ sera were also tested with Weil felix. All of the captured rodent sera were reactive with one or more antigen. Mites (chigger) were also collected from the rodent samples and the chigger index was found to be 19.2. This study indicated that scrub typhus and other rickettsial diseases were responsible for the outbreak. The extremely high chigger index with reactivity rate reactivity rate of Weil felix with sera of captured rodents strongly indicated the household transmission of scrub typhus and other rickettsial diseases in the outbreak village.

SYNTHESIS AND SPECTROSCOPIC STUDIES ON OXOVANADIUM COMPLEX WITH LIGANDS HAVING N, N-DONOR SITES 含n, n给体配体的钒氧配合物的合成及光谱研究

The present investigation is concerned with a method by the reaction of vanadylsulphate with nitrogen containing ligands N, N donor sites like dicyandiamide, methyldicyandiamide and phenyldicyandiamide in methanol and refluxed. The tentative structure of these complexes has been proposed on the basis of elemental analysis, magnetic moment and spectral (IR, EPR) data. The IR and EPR spectra of all the complexes were recorded at room temperature and at liquid nitrogen temperature. The room temperature EPR spectrum shows anisotropy because the band is observed separately.

ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY OF SOLVENT EXTRACTS OF POLYGONATUM CIRRHIFOLIUM (MAHAMEDHA) AND HABENERIA INTERMEDIA (RIDDHI) 黄精(mahamedha)和哈贝菌(riddhi)溶剂提取物的抑菌活性

Antimicrobial drugs have caused a dramatic change not only of the treatment of infectious diseases but of the mankind as a whole. Antimicrobial chemotherapy made remarkable advances, However, in reality emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases have left us facing a counter charge from infections. Infections with drug resistant organisms remain pertinent problem in clinical practice that is difficult to solv. (In the present study, the antimicrobial activity of the polar (methanolic) plant extracts viz. Polygonatum cirrhifolium (Mahamedha) and Habeneria intermedia (Riddhi) were determined at 200μg/ml. The results showed significant antimicrobial activity against the pathogens studied viz. Staphylococcus epidermidis, Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans. The potent antimicrobial extracts were having MIC values in the range of 150-200 μg/ml.

Antimicrobial chemotherapy made remarkable advances, However, in reality emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases have left us facing a counter charge from infections. Infections with drug resistant organisms remain pertinent problem in clinical practice that is difficult to solv. (In the present study, the antimicrobial activity of the polar (methanolic) plant extracts viz. Polygonatum cirrhifolium (Mahamedha) and Habeneria intermedia (Riddhi) were determined at 200μg/ml. The results showed significant antimicrobial activity against the pathogens studied viz. Staphylococcus epidermidis, Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans. FORMULATING β-CYCLODEXTRIN INCLUSION COMPLEXES FOR SOLUTION STABILITY ENHANCEMENT OF GRISEOFULVIN 制备β-环糊精包合物增强灰黄霉素溶液稳定性

Griseofulvin is a poorly soluble antifungal antibiotic drug, the solubility of which can be enhanced by complexation with β-cyclodextrin. The inclusion complex was prepared by Physical and Kneading method in various molar ratios of 1:1, 1:2 and 2:1 of the drug and β-cyclodextrin, respectively. IR spectra of drug, polymer and a physical mixture of drug and polymer were obtained using FT-IR. The inclusion complex was characterized and evaluated by determination of aqueous solubility, determination of pH stability, estimation of griseofulvin in complexes and stability study. The aqueous solubility of the GCD inclusion complexes was determined using the Higuchi-Connor method. The results indicated that the use of kneading method for preparation of complexes was more effective than the physical mixture method. The inclusion complexes were on the other hand was able to prevent the degradation of griseofulvin at all the pH. The degradation of griseofulvin from the inclusion complexes was found to be prevented and around 20-35% drug degraded in the acidic buffer while 40-50% drug degraded in the neutral and alkaline buffers. It was very much evident from the stability data that the inclusion complexes were helpful in improving the solution stability of griseofulvin. Complex F5 was used as the complex of choice for stability analysis as it exhibited the highest aqueous solubility amongst all the inclusion complexes that were prepared. The results reveal that the kneading method was helpful in incorporating higher amount of griseofulvin in the complex, the inclusion complex of griseofulvin (F5) was subjected to short term accelerated stability testing by storing the complexes at room temperature and at 45ºC. The samples were analyzed at an interval of one week, three weeks and six weeks for their physical appearance and drug content values. No appreciable changes observed with the above parameters.

A REVIEW ON CHALLENGES IN DEVELOPING NASAL SPRAYS 鼻用喷雾剂发展面临的挑战

The aim of this review is to provide information regarding significant aspects and challenges in developing of nasal sprays. This article outlined the relevant aspects of nasal anatomy, physiology & biological, physicochemical and pharmaceutical factors that must be considered during formulation development of nasal sprays. Nasal drug delivery system is the most preferable route than other routes of administration as it gives rapid onset of action. It is considered as a convenient and reliable route for local and also for systemic administration of drugs. The main highlights of this review includes types, advantages, disadvantages, mechanisms of drug absorption, factors of nasal drug absorption, formulation, methods of manufacturing and filling of nasal sprays, evaluation, characterization and applications.

STUDY OF ANTIBACTERIAL EFFICACY OF GREEN -SYNTHESIZED SILVER-NICKEL HYBRID NANOPARTICLES 绿色合成银镍杂化纳米颗粒的抗菌效果研究

An eco-friendly green strategy is presented for the synthesis of Ag-Ni hybrid nanoparticles taking a medicinal plant, Aerva lanata for phytoreduction of the precursor salt solutions. The synthesized nanoparticles are characterized by instrumental techniques such as UV-Visible, FTIR, EDX, FESEM and HRTEM. These particles are found to possess significant antibacterial efficacy against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria based on investigation by Well Diffusion method.

BIOFORMULATION FOR THE QUALITY SEEDLING PRODUCTION OF AZADIRACHTA INDICA A. JUSS. IN TROPICAL NURSERY CONDITIONS 印楝优质苗木生产的生物配方研究。在热带苗圃条件下

Nursery experiments were conducted to select the suitable biofertilizers combination to attain quality seedlings of Neem. The biofertilizers such as Azospirillum, Paenibacillus and AM fungus (Glomus fasciculatum) were inoculated by separately and various combinations with each other at time of seed sowing. Shoot length, root length, collar diameter, and shoot and root dry weight were recorded on 80 days after treatment. Results showed that the total length of seedlings and biomass were significantly increased in the seedlings treated with combined inoculation of Azospirillum + Paenibacillus + AM fungus when compared to control. Among the individual inoculation, Paenibacillus (T1) showed better response than other individual inoculation. Within double inoculations, Azospirillum + Paenibacillus (T4) was superior when compared with other double inoculations. In general Azospirillum and its combination with other biofertilizers had more root length and biomass than other treatments.
