FISH GUT ANALYSIS OF DEMERSAL FISH SPECIES OF DILAWARA RESERVOIR OF DHAR TEHSIL OF DHAR DISTRICT, MADHYA PRADESH 中央邦达尔地区达尔特希尔迪拉瓦拉水库底栖鱼类肠道分析

Dilawara reservoir of Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, India; an important drinking water source of Dhar tehsil is also widely used for fishculture besides irrigation and domestic purpose. In the present study, the demersal fish fauna of Dilawara Reservoir were selected for the gut content study and included species of catfish (Heteropneustes fossilis and Clarias batrachus), minor carps (Rasbora daniconius, Danio melaharicus, Puntisticto, P. sarana): fingerlings of major and common carp, snake head (Channa striatus, C. punctatus), one species of clupeide (Gadusia chapra) and one species of Mastocembalidae (Mastucembalus armatus). The selection of fish species was made on their feeding habits and their availability throughout the year. The food of demersal fish species of Dilawara Reservoir varied and diversified to include, mollusks, crustaceans, annelids, insects, snails, fish, macrophytes and various algae. Gut content analysis showed that most of the fish species preyed on zooplankton benthic animals except for fishes belonging to Family Clupeidae (Gudusia chapra) and minor carps. Their Stomach content analysis showed that macrophytes and algae were exclusively the dominant food items observed in their stomachs and were categorized as omnivorous

AN OVERVIEW OF ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTING TEXTILES 导电性纺织品概述

Textiles are having evolution from being normal protective clothing to smart and technical textiles. Electrically conducting fabrics forms the backbone of being smart textiles. The smart textile combines electronics with textile structures, referred to as “textronics”. One major challenge to the success of such wearable smart textile resides in the development of lightweight and flexible components, and fibrous structures with high electrical conductivity able to withstand the stresses associated with wearing and caring for the textile. Therefore, flexible, deformable, stretchable, and durable conductive textile materials are needed for durable smart fabrics that capture and convey information and enable computing while accommodating the drape and movement of the human body. In recent decades, numerous approaches have been made in research to address this challenge using the flexibility and versatility of textile structures, along with innovations in the field of particulate and fibrous materials. This review focuses on the methods of synthesis of electrically conducting textiles and their applications. Particularly, it summarizes textile based multi-functional devices and their potential applications for portable or wearable functional integrated electronics, energy conversion & storage devices, sensors and actuators. The methods of fabrication like incorporation of conducting polymers are briefly discussed.

DEVELOPMENT AND IN-VITRO EVALUATION OF PHYTOSOMES CONTAINING HERBAL EXTRACT OF CENTELLA ASIATICA FOR ANTIULCER AND ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY 含积雪草提取物植物体抗溃疡和抗氧化活性的研制及体外评价

Herbal medications have a diverse range of active constituents allowing us to use them in a variety of ways, but active constituents are poorly absorbed due to their strong polarity and low lipophilicity, resulting in low bioavailability. The aim of this research was to improve bioavailability by development and in-vitro evaluation of phytosomes containing herbal extract of Centella asiatica for its antioxidant and gastroprotective activity. Phytosomes of Centella asiatica were prepared by reflex method and further it is characterized and evaluated. The complex formation was estimated by FTIR analysis and drug content and drug entrapment efficiency of phytosomes was achieved to be 91.6% and 84.3% respectively. The mean diameter was found to be 854.2 nm and zeta potential 28.4 mV was found. It indicates that the in-vitro drug release of Centella asiatica were higher in comparison to the formulation complex i.e., 100% and 77.6%. The release kinetics of the optimized phytosomal formulation (F3) best fitted and the R2 value was found to be 0.9879. The anti-oxidant activity of Centella asiatica phytosomes was superior than its hydroalcoholic extract i.e., % inhibition of phytosomal formulation is 83.55 having IC50 value 1.99 and % inhibition of hydroalcoholic drug extract was 85.31 having IC50 value 2.77. In anti-ulcer activity phytosomes was found to neutralize acid more significant as compare to standard and hydroalcoholic extract of Centella asiatica. The results indicated that the prepared phytosome could be a promising candidate for effective delivery of active constituents.

EVALUATION OF CARDIOVASCULAR AUTONOMIC FUNCTION TESTS IN OBESE AND NON-OBESE HEALTHY INDIANS 肥胖和非肥胖健康印度人心血管自主功能测试的评价

Autonomic nervous system (ANS) is a centre for the coordination of different body systems. Since the ANS is involved in energy metabolism and in the regulation of almost all visceral systems. It is conceivable that one or more subgroups of persons with idiopathic obesity have an alteration in their autonomic nervous system that may account for several clinical consequences of obesity. This observational study was conducted to find the association of Autonomic Function Tests among obese and non-obese participants. Among 90 participants, 45 were obese and 45 were non-obese, aged 18-40 years of either gender was enrolled after getting their voluntary written consent. In both the groups, Cold Pressure Test and Hand Grip Test were performed for evaluating sympathetic functions. Standing test (30:15 RR Ratio), Standing to Lying ratio, and Valsalva ratio were performed for evaluating parasympathetic functions. Chi-square and unpaired t test was employed for statistical analysis. A statistically significant association of Autonomic Function Tests among obese and non-obese participants was found as per BMI and Body Fat Percentage criteria. Study explored that obesity was associated with ANS dysfunction as compared to non-obese; this relationship was observed primarily in terms of sympathetic and parasympathetic activity. The results of this study are indicative of autonomic insufficiency among obese participants.

A REVIEW OF HERBAL DRUGS AND PROSPECTIVE STUDIES FOR MANAGEMENT OF DIABETES MELLITUS 中药治疗糖尿病及前瞻性研究综述

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disorder, occur when the pancreas does not make sufficient amount of insulin. Hyperglycaemia leads to severe injure especially the nerves and blood vessels (retinopathy, neuropathy, and nephropathy). According to World Health Organization the diabetic people is expected to increase up to 300 million or more by the year 2025. We searched the scientific database using various original research articles, clinical trials, meta analysis, patent reports, validation study, observational study, review articles published in PubMed, Scopus, Science direct and Google by using the keyword. After an initial search, 528 articles were identified, out of which 50 articles had required criteria for the comparative study and meta-analysis of related topics. Herbal plants were extremely venerated source of medicine in Ayurveda and now they have become a growing part of modern, high-tech medicine. It also reveals the information about the most recent innovation in the treatment of Type-I and Type II Diabetes mellitus. These reviews have proven that the herbal drugs were used for the treatment of Type II Diabetes mellitus worldwide. It also reveals that new approaches of nanotechnology were good choice for the management of Diabetes mellitus now a days. Hopefully, these new kind of treatment may help in making the everyday lives of millions of diabetes patients more comfortable.

CHARACTERIZATION OF DRUG RESISTANT BACTERIA ISOLATED FROM SUBURBAN RAILWAY STATION PREMISES 郊区火车站场所分离的耐药细菌的特征分析

Pathogens in public areas e.g. public transport system can be a critical public health issue due to ease of transfer. Present study deals with isolation and characterization of pathogenic bacteria from touch surfaces of railway station premises. A total of 53 swab samples taken from different touch surfaces were processed by classical microbiological procedures. Isolates were subjected to antibiotic sensitivity test. Further modified disinfectant challenge test was used to compare effectiveness of four commonly used disinfectants. Overall total 73 isolates were obtained. After morphological, cultural and biochemical analysis 7 isolates were identified as Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and 6 isolates as extended spectrum β-lactamase producing (ESBL) Escherichia coli. By virtue, these all were multidrug resistant. A disinfectant challenge test revealed Sodium hypochlorite, Dettol, MEDNTEK - R82 were effective while Santavis, a locally available disinfectant cum floor cleaner was not effective at recommended dilutions. Presence of multi drug resistant pathogenic bacteria in premises of railway station is extremely worrisome finding. Appropriate cleaning and disinfection measures required to prevent dissemination of these pathogens.

Genetic alterations are one of the important known risk factors of prostate cancer. The family predisposition of breast and ovarian cancers may cause the severe progression of familial prostate cancer in some men. The association of germline mutations in BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes can cause breast cancer in almost 35% of women and 9% of men. Carriers of these pathogenic variants have a higher risk of causing prostate cancer. EFFECT OF ORANGE PEEL EXTRACT ON INTESTINAL ABSORPTION OF ASPIRIN USING EVERTED SAC TECHNIQUE 橙皮提取物对体外翻囊法阿司匹林肠吸收的影响

Drug distribution and absorption are significantly influenced by the biological membrane's permeability. Since aspirin requires high and frequent doses and undergoes substantial presystemic metabolism during oral absorption, there is a higher risk of GIT adverse effects. The purpose of the current study was to use the everted sac technique on goat intestine to examine the impact of orange peel (Citrus Aurantium Dulcis) extract on intestinal absorption. When kept with orange peel extract, the concentration of absorbed aspirin was 20, 26, 30, 38, and 50μg/ml after 15, 30, 45, 60, and 75 minutes, compared to 14, 16, 17, 18 and 23 μg/ml when kept alone. According to the study, aspirin is absorbed more readily from goat intestines when orange peel extract is used. Citrus peel contains a lot of phenolic chemicals, including flavonoids and phenolic acids. In addition, limonene, citral, neohesperidin, naringin, rutin, rhamnose, eriocitrin, and Vitamin-C etc. are found in the peel. They might be in charge of the plant's capacity to boost absorption.

TRANSFORMED CELL - THE UNUSUAL SUCCESSION OF A USUAL CELL 转化细胞-正常细胞的不寻常的继承

After the first observations of life under the microscope, it took almost two centuries of research before the idea that all living things are composed of cells or their products was speculated. The development of the microscope was a requirement for the discovery of cells. In 1673, the Dutch botanist, Anton van Leeuwenhoek, reported seeing a myriad of microscopic "animalcules" in water. Over several decades, knowledge about the structure and functions of the cell has progressed tremendously due to the advancement in various techniques like next generation sequencing, and genome wide analysis. Cancers are generated from normal cells by random karyotypic rearrangements. Immortality is a common characteristic of cancers, but its origin and purpose are still unclear. Since such rearrangements disturb long-established mitosis genes, cancer karyotypes vary instinctively but are stabilized perpetually by clonal selections for autonomy. The differentiation stage of tumors is a vital aspect in the histopathological classification of solid malignancies, strongly associated with tumor behavior, as an immature tumor is more aggressive than the more differentiated counterpart. The central focus in these events is the cell that undergoes a series of morphological and biochemical changes in course of its transition from normal to a transformed tumor cell; thus acquiring typical characteristics which aids in the process of progression. In this review an attempt has been made to enlighten upon the unusual behavior of a normal cell in transition.

SPHERICAL CRYSTALLIZATION: A TOOL TO IMPROVE SOLUBILITY OF DRUGS 球形结晶:提高药物溶解度的工具

Spherical crystallization is a technique in which crystallization and agglomeration are carried out synchronously in one step to form compact spherical form. The most common methods used in spherical agglomeration are quasi emulsion solvent diffusion method, ammonia diffusion system, neutralization technique and co-agglomeration. It succeeded to improve dissolution property of poorly soluble drugs. This can change drug powder properties such as flowability, wettability, packability, compressibility. It has wider applications in improvement of poorly compressible drugs; it has wider application in improvement of compressability of poorly compressible drugs, masking bitter taste of drugs, improving dissolution property, bioavailability and solubility of drugs. Agglomeration crystals converted into tablet forms thus helping us by saving time and reducing cost.
