NANOTECHNOLOGY IN PLANT DISEASE MANAGEMENT - AN OVERVIEW 植物病害管理中的纳米技术综述

Generally, advancements in various branches of science and technology have had a significant impact on various aspects ofplant pathology like efficient pathogen detection. Nanotechnology is found to have many applications of which plantpathology is the one important field. In recent years, nanotechnology has been increasingly applied to the development ofnovel antimicrobials for the management of pathogenic bacteria affecting agricultural crops. This review discusses theapplications of different nanoparticles in plant disease management and their mode of action against the bacteria. Thesynthesis of nanoparticles (NPs) using biomolecules (protein, enzyme, DNA and plant extracts) have opened a newavenue of research in green nanobiotechnology. They are proved to be effective, cheap and eco-friendly in combatingmicrobes. Reactive oxygen species production, lipid peroxidation, protein oxidation, ATP depletion and DNAdegradation are some of the mechanisms by which nanomaterials used to kill bacteria.

FFECTIVENESS OF SIMULATION-BASED LEARNING REGARDING MANAGEMENT OF POSTPARTUM HEMORRHAGE (PPH) IN TERMS OF COMPETENCIES AMONG NURSING STUDENTS IN SELECTED NURSING COLLEGES OF AMBALA, HARYANA 哈里亚纳邦安巴拉选定护理学院的护理学生在产后出血(pph)管理方面的模拟学习的有效性

Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) is one of the leading causes of maternal mortality and morbidity worldwide and isresponsible for about a quarter of all maternal deaths. The aim of the study was to assess the effectiveness of simulationbasedlearning regarding management of PPH in terms of competencies among nursing students in selected nursingcolleges of Haryana. Quasi- experimental design was adopted to assess the effectiveness of simulation based learning interms of competency of nursing students. Data was collected from 109 students studying in BSc. 4th Year in M.M.College of Nursing and M.M. Institute of Nursing. Purposive sampling technique was used to randomly allocate theparticipants in experimental and comparison group. The study findings showed that majority (76.7%) and (73.5%) of thenursing students were female in experimental and comparison group respectively. In experimental group, the mean posttestknowledge score (23.7 ± 4.1) and (22.3 ± 4.2) was higher than the comparison group. The mean post-test skillsscore (27.2 ± 4.3) in experimental group was higher than (24.7 ± 5.3) in comparison group. The mean post-test CDMAscore (12.7±2.1) in comparison group was higher than the mean post-test CDMA score (9.6±2.5) in experimentalgroup. The calculated ‘t’ value post-test skills scores (t=2.65; p=0.00*) which was found to be statistically significant at0.05 level of significance. The study concluded that Simulation based learning was effective in enhancing the competencyof nursing students regarding management of PPH.

HYDROTHERMALLY GROWN ZnO/rGO AND ZnO/PANI NANOHYBRIDS: COMPARATIVE STUDY ON THEIR ELECTRICAL CONDUCTANCE 水热生长ZnO/rGO和ZnO/PANI纳米杂化物:电导率的比较研究

The unique properties of Zinc Oxide, Graphene and their nanocomposite have enabled them to fabricate manyoptoelectronic devices which offer advantages like light weight, good stability and optical transparency. Conductingpolymer/graphene hybrids are also a major class of composite materials for the fabrication of donor/acceptor basedelectronic devices. In this paper we report the synthesis, characterization and conductivity measurements in ZnO/rGOand ZnO/PANI binary nanohybrids. ZnO nanotops are synthesized by low temperature hydrothermal method, grapheneoxide (GO) by modified Hummer’s Method, reduced graphene oxide (rGO) by hydrothermal in situ reduction techniqueand PANI from aniline by chemical polyoxidation reaction. ZnO/rGO nanohybrid is prepared by hydrothermaltreatment of ZnO and GO, whereas ZnO/PANI by in-situ oxidative polymerization of aniline in presence of ZnO. Allthe materials were characterized using SEM, TEM, XRD, UV-Vis, IR&TGA. The as-synthesized samples were dispersedin IPA, coated on quartz glass using spin-coating technique, and dark conductivity measurements were done.

DESIGN, SYNTHESIS AND BIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF TRANSITION METAL COMPLEXES OF SCHIFF BASE LIGAND DERIVED FROM PYRIDINE DERIVATIVES 吡啶衍生物席夫碱配体过渡金属配合物的设计、合成及生物学性质

Novel classes of heterocyclic Schiff base ligand were prepared from the condensation of 2-methoxy benzaldehyde and 2-amino 4-methyl pyridine in absolute ethanol in presence of catalytic amount of dilute HCl. The resulted novel class ofheterocyclic ligand was treated with metal salt or acetate results in the formation of Fe (III), Co (III), Ni (II) & Cu (II)complexes. All newly synthesized resulted ligand its metal complexes were characterized by elemental analysis and FTIR,Magnetic susceptibility, Antimicrobial, Antioxidant, ESR spectrum for Copper complex in DMF solvent recorded atroom temperature. The Electronic spectra and magnetic susceptibility measurements indicates that square planer andoctahedral geometry of these complexes also suggest their structure in which (N, O) group acts as bidentate ligand. Thethermal stability, decomposition behavior has been investigated by using thermo gravimetric analysis at heating rate 10°Cper minute with nitrogen atmosphere and their and kinetic parameter was also calculated by using Freeman Carrollmethod. Screening results of antimicrobial, antioxidant activity of transition metal complexes shows good antibacterialand antifungal activity and excellent antioxidant activity.

CHARACTERIZATION OF MARINE ACTINOMYCETES SPECIES ISOLATED FROM AZHIMALA COASTAL REGION, KERALA AND IT’S EFFICACY AGAINST UROPATHOGENIC BACTERIA 喀拉拉邦阿兹玛拉沿海地区海洋放线菌的分离鉴定及其对尿路致病菌的抑制作用

Actinomycetes are virtually unlimited sources of novel compounds with many therapeutic applications and hold aprominent position due to their diversity and proven ability to produce novel bioactive compounds. The present study isaimed to prove the antagonistic activity of marine actinomycetes against uropathogens. 13 marine actinomycetes wereisolated from various marine sediment samples collected from different stations in the Azhimala coastal region, part ofthe Arabian Sea on the western coast of India. The sample collection and isolation of actinomycetes were done byfollowing the standard microbiological methods and the isolated colonies were characterized based on theirmorphological parameters. The morphologically distinct 13 isolates obtained in the present study, the isolates SD65,SD66, SD67, SD68, SD69, SD70, SD71, V66, V67, V68, V69,V70,V71 among them 3 isolates,V67,V68 and V70showed significant antagonism against selected uropathogens collected from a tertiary care center inThiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The results were promising and indicated that actinomycetes with distinctive biologicalactivity are abundant in the marine environment along Kerala's coast.

In this Anthropocene period, due to high human interference for the developments in the fields of agriculture, industryand urban events, especially around lake water systems have affected significant changes in quality and quantity of theresources and enriched water with mineral nutrients, such as nitrogen and phosphorus as a consequence, lakes gotenriched with increased algal productivity which in turn has led to oxygen depletion, recreational impairment,biodiversity loss and resulted in deterioration of habitat quality. The present study attempts to assess the water quality ofPuttenahalli lake through phytoplankton studies. The Puttenahalli lake has been hysterically polluted by sewage dischargefrom two places, one from the underground drain in Nataraja layout and the other from an unknown source in thesouthern side which has led to a massive fish kill and organic load in the lake. The phytoplankton studies revealed thepresence of harmful algal blooms like Spirogyra sp., Mycrocystis sp., Cylindrospermopsis sp., Arcella sp., Anabena sp.,Scenedesmus sp., Ulothrix sp., Ankistrodesmus sp., Cosmarium sp., Trachelomonas sp., Zygnema sp., Navicula sp., Synedra sp.,Cymbella sp., Nitzschia sp., Cyclotella sp., Selenastrum sp., diatoms sp., and many other cyanohabs were abundantly presentin the studied lake. These Cyanobacterial blooms are currently a great threat to the ecological integrity and sustainabilityof lake water resources.

QUALITATIVE AND QUALITATIVE PHYTOCHEMICAL SCREENING OF ACANTHOSPERMUM HISPIDUM D.C. ROOT EXTRACTS 棘皮草根提取物的定性和定性植物化学筛选

Phytochemicals have great potency as therapeutic agents. There is continuous and urgent need to discover newtherapeutic compounds with diverse chemical structures and novel mechanism of action because there has been analarming increase in the incidence of new and re-emerging infectious diseases. Hence, the present investigation wascarried out to assess the phytoconstituents of various root extracts of Acanthospermum hispidum. The extracts weresubjected to qualitative and quantitative phytochemical analyses as per standard procedures. The results showed thatsteroids were detected in maximum number of solvent extracts (five among six solvent extracts analysed) followed byalkaloids (in four solvent extracts). Flavonoids, glycosides, phenols, saponins and tannins were absent in all the sixsolvents used for qualitative phytochemical analyses. Maximum number (five) of compounds were identified in methanoland least (one) in hexane root extract of Acanthospermum. Findings of quantitative analyses highlighted that maximumcontent of alkaloids (4.54 mg/g) were determined in aqueous extract, flavonoids (0.93 mg/g) in methanol, phenols(1.50 mg GAE/g) in aqueous, tannins (0.84 mg TAE/g) in methanol and terpenoids (3.66 %) in methanol extracts. Theresult of this study is encouraging further clinical studies to determine the potential effectiveness of particularphytochemical in vivo.

INFLUENCE OF THERMAL WATER TYPES ON THE PROPERTIES OF PYROPHILITE PELOIDS 热水类型对辉石类球粒性质的影响

Pelotherapy is the application of thermal muds (peloids) for therapeutic purposes. Artificial peloids were prepared usingpyrophilite shale maturated in three different types of thermal water in terms of their pH values. The samples after 30and 60 days of maturation were examined by X-ray diffraction. No significant variations in the mineralogical compositionand diffractograms of pyrophillite peloids were detected after maturation. Only the influence of the maturation processof pyrophillite on the pH value of mineral water with high and low pH value is noticed.

SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND ANTI-TUBERCULAR ACTIVITY OF 1, 3- THIAZINE DERIVATIVES 1,3 -噻嗪衍生物的合成、表征及抗结核活性

Due to their potent biological activity, heterocyclic compounds have been used extensively in pharmacological research.Researchers' interest has been drawn to the heterocyclic molecule thiazine, which has four carbon atoms, one nitrogenatom, and one sulphur atom. It has interesting pharmacological properties. In the present work, a series of new thiazinederivatives were synthesized from substituted chalcone derivatives. Starting material was acetophenone derivatives. Thestructures of these compounds were confirmed by IR, NMR, Mass and elemental analysis. The synthesized compounds(IVa-IVe) were screened for anti-tuberculosis activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and the results show that some ofthese derivatives possess good activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

SOIL BACTERIAL ISOLATES SHOWING PROMISING FIBRINOLYTIC ACTIVITY 土壤细菌分离物具有良好的纤溶活性

Directly acting fibrinolytic enzyme is found to be superior therapy for treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Hence, thereis a need of a novel and highly potent fibrinolytic agent which can directly degrade fibrin clot in lesser time withimproved specificity and overcome shortcomings of haemorrhage. Amongst various sources, microbial fibrinolyticenzymes have attracted attention of research community so the present study aimed to isolate fibrinolytic enzymeproducingbacteria from different soil samples. Caseinolytic activity and clot lyses activity of the crude enzyme producedby these isolates were determined. All together six caseinolytic organisms were isolated, 3 of them produced fibrinolyticprotease which would lyse fibrin and whole blood clot. Caseinolytic activity in the crude enzyme preparation fromColony C₄ was detected to be 78.2 U/ml and was able to lyse 85.54% of whole blood clot in 90 mins. Colony 4 may beof potential interest for biotechnological use as it produces fibrinolytic proteases that degraded fibrin clot and the wholeblood clot, to the maximum.
