In gliding aviation, a lot of attention is paid to the achievement of aerodynamic parameters due to the production of the idea of sailplane flights is a flight of a sailplane without partial energy supplied to stay in the air, and using favorable conditions, e.g. ascending thermal movements of the air. Only during take-off is a virtual external connection, i.e. an aerial winch or a towing plane, required. It is very convenient to implement the tests from the drive level in the tests and submerged during take-off. In addition, landings when using the described element are to be expected due to additional sources of aerodynamic drag calculated in this study and the option of immediate use of the propulsion. It is also a step towards facilitating access to flying for a wider group of people due to the cost of travel with take-off processes, also to experience the safety level of sailplane by providing propulsion at critical moments of the flight.

The article presents studies specifying the friction coefficient $mu$ and the amount of wear for cup 10-modified alloy A390.0 in combination with EN GJL-30 0.0. The tests were conducted using the T-01 tribological tester in the pin-disc system. The pin was from the tested material (A390.0) while the disc was made from cast iron EN GJL-300. In addition, the characteristics of the device and method of tribological studies were selected. An analysis of the surface decomposition of elements for the pin (silumin) and disc (cast iron) is also presented. The tests were carried out to determine whether the alloy under consideration meets the excessive requirements of materials intended for pistons for modern internal combustion engines used in automotive and aviation.

In recent months, we have been experiencing a whole new kind of crisis in aviation. Well, not only in aviation, but in this paper we want to show the impact of Covid-19 crisis on the commercial aviation. The impact on the number of flights and passengers carried, airline fleet transformations, possible changes on the commercial airline models and possible consolidation acceleration. There is also possible to expect changes on external outsource companies behavior. Product definition and its pricing will change for sure. And total drop in number of operation will for sure change a number of the employees. There is not another branch of industry more affected then the aviation. But tomorrow never dies, so how is the future we can expect. At the beginning of the pandemic, there are a few articles published about impact of covid-19 pandemic to aviation. The most complex was the paper of Pere Suau-Sanchez [6] using interview with couple of aviation heads to predict how the situation will develop. From today’s view their conclusion is too optimistic. Situation is much worse.

A rise in usage of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in commercial and civilian applications as a result of the recent advancement in manufacturing processes, communications, and networking technology led to the demand for access to non-segregated airspace. The steady development of UAS has created a dynamic environment moving at faster pace than manned aviation. In particular, there is an intense pressure on operations in very low altitudes where market is driven by new business models. Commercial UAS operators are expected to monitor weather, changes in airspace structure, avoid buildings and temporary obstacles, consider potential risks arising from the ground, and maintain separation from manned aviation. On the other hand, authorities are expected to monitor, and control unmanned aerial traffic as well as enforce the airspace rules. To address this arising requirements unmanned traffic management is being developed and deployed in numerous countries, which aims to enable safe and efficient operations of highly automated UAS in automated unmanned traffic management (UTM) system developed on foundations of modern technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet-of-Things, 5G networks while considering the need to address cybersecurity requirements. Among cybersecurity requirements a potential candidate with promising applications is blockchain technology, which is a distributed ledger of immutable records stored in a decentralized database. This paper discusses potential applications of blockchain technology that could support UAS operations and increase security in storing crucial flight data.

The effect of hypoglycemia on remote control pilot was not tested yet, while the effect of hypoglycemia and alcohol on commercial pilots is known. In some cases, the alcohol in blood can have positive effect, especially on precision and speed of reactions, but only till some level of alcohol in blood. This positive effect has been proven during study on final approach and maintaining the glide path. In the article were proposed three exercises, during which remote pilot will be tested on precision, correctness, and time of his reactions during after alcohol consumption and during low blood sugar, in other words–hypoglycemia. The results will be used in the future for proposition of changing the legislation.

In recent years, the Czech Republic has developed a popularity in air transport and airlines. The reason is the classification of this type of transport as the safest. Air transport is used not only to transport people and cargo. This is a function where passenger air transport is a set of requirements for high comfort, flexibility and time savings, despite the financial demands. Thus, the demand of citizens for ordinary flying, both recreational and sport, is growing. In the Czech Republic, sport flying has a long tradition operated at airports, which are also part of aeroclubes. The article deals with the airport of the Josef František Prostějov Aeroclub and assesses possible risks at the airport. The methods set out in the Advisory Material for the development of airport contingency plans will be established for risk assessment. For these purposes simple Brainstorming, What if and partly modified CARVER methods were selected. The aim of the article is to present the results that assess the risks of a general possible threats to the Aeroclub airport.

The direct current (DC) or alternating current (AC) generators are the basic elements of on-board power supply units. Contactless generators are alternating electric machines, which are characterized by a special construction and non-traditional ways of excitation. 3D modeling using CAD systems enabled the significant improvement of the generator construction analysis and its operational properties, which led to weight and size reduction with no power sacrifice.

The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) is a structural tool used to measure the effectiveness of activities against the strategic plans of a company. The Balanced Scorecard is frequently used during strategic planning to stable the company’s efforts with overall strategy and vision. Standard Balanced Scorecard considers initiatives of a company from four different perspectives: Financial, Customer, Learning and Growth, and Business Processes. These activities are recorded in adequate buckets with agreed measures, targets, and objectives for data collection and analyzing. Learning and growth perspective examines the company’s vitality in terms of training employees on rapidly changing technologies and teaching employees how to grow their productivity. This paper discussing the position of Learning and Growth perspective in the BSC model applied to an airport. Employees’ skills and knowledge are values that move an airport ahead as a prospective, active and strong player on the market. Also, the paper deals with the significance of employees’ trainings and their further development.
