PREPARATION AND EXPERIMENTAL STUDY (IN VITRO) OF PURANDAR VATI 普兰达尔瓦蒂的制备和实验研究(体外

Objective To prepare and evaluate the antimicrobial effect of Purandar vati (An Ayurvedic traditional formulation )against some of the bacterial stains. Method, Purandar vati was prepared using the classical reference of Bhaishajyaratnavali. Parada (Mercury) and Gandhaara (sulphur) were purified and then triturated to form Kajjali. Then raw drugs of Triphala and trikatu were converted into powder form, and all the ingredients were mixed and triturated with the help of aja dughdha (goat milk) and tablets were formed. The final product of Purandara vati was dried and stored. Antimicrobial activity of Purandar vati against streptococcus pneumonia and morxella catarrahlis bacteria was evaluated using the agar cup diffusion method. Result: Purandar vati shows a significant antibacterial spectrum against streptococcus pneumonia and morxella catarrahlis. Conclusion: This study shows that Purandara vati has antimicrobial potency and it can be clinically used for infectious respiratory disorders.

REVIEW ARTICLE ON VISHGHANA PROPERTY OF MANJISTHA 关于曼吉莎的维什加纳财产的评论文章

Poisoning being the major health problem in modern era which is increasing day by day. There are different sources from where people are consuming poison directly or indirectly. According to Ayurvedic point of view, there are different types of poison like Sthavar Visha, Jangam Visha, Gara Visha, Dushi Visha. So, after taking such poison shows harmful effect in human health which leads different kinds of diseases to death. So, to protect from such kinds of poisoning Ayurveda has mentioned different types of detoxifying Dravyas that help to diminish or destroy the poisonous effect in human body. The Concept of Ayurvedic Vishaghna mahakashaya explained by Acharya Charaka has the properties of detoxifying action. As per Ayurved classics, it is included in the Vishaghna gana (Anti poisonous drugs) and is an important constituent of several Agada (Anti-poisonous formulations). Agada, one of the modalities used for treatment of poisoning is a combination of different herbs. Manjistha, as a single and multiple preparations are available which indicates its utility in many poisonings. Manjistha is not only used as Vishaghna (anti poisonous) drug, but it has multiple therapeutic values, which are discussed in the article. Selection of all logical references are done and collection, correlation and explanation as per requirement. It can be useful for diseases which come under area of any field of toxicity. Hence, we can prevent and treat many toxicological disorders.

CONCEPT OF MEDHYA RASAYANA AND CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF SMRITISAGAR RASA medhya rasayana 的概念和对 smritisagar rasa 的批判性分析

In this era of fast-track competitive lifestyle, excellent memory and brilliant intellect are a dream come true for every individual. A good memory plays a crucial role in a person’s life to garner outstanding academic accomplishments and successful careers. Medha has been ascribed to be of greatest value in human life for leading a virtuous life. Owing to this, man was oriented to procure Medha since the evaluation of civilization till today. On the other hand, Prajnaparadha has been described to be the causative Factor of most of the diseases in ancient Ayurvedic texts, this signifies the importance of the use of Medhya drugs in Ayurvedic system of medicine since ages. The term Medhya Rasayana has been derived from two ayurvedic words, ‘Medhya’ meaning intellect or cognitive power and ‘Rasayana’ meaning ‘curative or rejuvenative ability’. In present review there is a compilation of various concept of Medhya Rasayana from vedic to samhita period and explanation of pharmacodyanamics of Medhya Rasayana at Agni level, at Srotas level, by Panchabhautic Composition, by Guna, Rasa, Virya and Vipaka and also enlightens a classical Ayurvedic formulation Smritisagar Rasa described in various texts having therapeutic importance in treating Apasmara. Pharmacodynamics of ingredients and research updates on Smritisagar Rasa are complied.

APPLICATION OF GARIKADI BIDALAKA IN KAPHAJ ABHISHYANDA (BACTERIAL CONJUNCTIVITIS): A CASE STUDY Garikadi bidalaka 在 Kaphaj Abhishyanda(细菌性结膜炎)中的应用:病例研究

Conjunctivitis is a common eye disease seen worldwide. Kaphaja Netra Abhishyanda is defined in Ayurveda as a disease affecting all parts of the eye characterised by Guruta (heaviness of lids), Kandu (itching), Pichila (repeated lacrimation), Alpa Vedana (Foreign body sensation) photophobia and burning sensation in eyes etc. Reviewing the clinical presentation from modern texts, it is found that it resembles Bacterial conjunctivitis. Infections spread all over the eye, not treated on time, thereby also affecting the adjacent vision at the same time. 30% of patients are affected by frequent episodes with intense and persistent symptoms. Here, local conjunctival tissues get inflamed and secondary infections occur. The most common causative organisms are Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Haemophilus influenza, Neisseria meningitis, and Corynebacterium diphtheriae. An ocular therapeutic called Bidalaka is the application of medicated paste on the eye's outer surface expect eyelashes. Bidalaka is indicated in inflammatory conditions of the eyes. A 24-year-old female patient diagnosed with bacterial conjunctivitis on clinical presentation was advised Gairikadi Bidalaka for five days. The signs & symptoms were reduced to a very mild degree. The result proved to be effective based on clinical assessment.

AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF CHRONIC ECZEMA (VICHARCHIKA) : A CASE STUDY 慢性湿疹(Vicharchika)的阿育吠陀疗法 :病例研究

The structure of human skin is complex, consisting of a number of layers and tissue components with many im-portant functions. Skin is the first line of defense and hence it is the first to be exposed to disease. Eczema is a chronic, enigmatic condition that usually affects the hands and feet. Eczema is a clinical condition in which patches of the skin become inflamed, itchy, cracked and rough. In contemporary medicine the skin disease refers as neither “Neither Cures nor Dies”. Topical corticosteroid creams and ointments can be the ultimate drug choice. In Ayurveda various skin manifestation are approached under different concepts like Kushtha (Skin dis-orders) , Visarpa (Herpes zoster), Kshudra kushtha (Minor skin disorders) , Keeta visha (insect bite), Gara visha (poison) and Dushi visha (latent toxicity). Ayurveda, an ancient system of medicine originating from India, of-fers various treatments and approaches for diverse health conditions. "Visha hara" refers to therapies aimed at eliminating toxins from the body, while "Rasayan chikitsa" focuses on rejuvenation and overall well-being. We report a case of chronic eczema (Vicharchika) treated with this thinking to highlight the treatment protocol and need to be accessed further through big clinical studies.

A COMPARATIVE PHARMACEUTICO-ANALYTICAL STUDY OF DHANANJAYADI VATI AND ITS MODIFIED LOZENGES Dhananjayadi Vati 及其改良锭剂的药学分析比较研究

Vati Kalpana is one of the secondary preparations in Ayurvedic pharmaceutics. According to acharya Vagbhata, it is considered as an outcome of Kalka Kalpana1 . Dhananjayadi Vati is a formulation mentioned in Yogaratnakara under Kasa Chikitsa. Modification of classical and development of new dosage forms is currentday trend to fulfil needs like palatability, cost effectiveness and global acceptance of the product. Lozenges are one of the popular palatable solid dosage forms containing one or more medicaments in a flavored and sweetened base. In the present study an attempt was made to modify Vati into lozenges form and comparative pharmaceutico analytical study was carried out for understanding of each dosage was discussed.

Being a ‘Nitya Sevaniya Dravya’, i.e., advised for daily consumption, Madhu is a widely prescribed Anupana. Our classics, ranging from the oldest literary works up to the more recent era, have classified and described honey in detailed descriptions. This article attempts to bring all the available details in our classics together and present them in a well-structured manner for understanding the utility and importance of Madhu.

AN OPEN-LABELLED CLINICAL TRIAL ON SWARNA PRASHAN AT SPARSH HOSPITAL, PATTANKODOLI 帕坦科多里斯巴什医院关于 Swarna prashan 的公开标签临床试验

In Ayurveda administration of the gold particles in children’s is considered to be a unique practice termed as Swarna Prashana (SP). The main ingredients include Swarna Bhasma, Goghrita, Honey and other herbal drugs which are useful in enhancing intellectual property. For the past several decades, clinical practices proved that SP has better Immunomodulatory effect by activating both cellular and humeral immunity. Aim: The Present trial was conducted to evaluate and document the effect of Swarna Prashana on children with respect to improvement in general health status and immunity at Swarna Hospital, Pattankodoli. Methodology: The trial was Open label, Prospective and Observational study in 23 children between the age group of 4 months to 60 months, regular follow-ups were taken on 0th, 180th day and 360th day and assessed on the basis of specially prepared Immune status questionnaires and illness dairy. Result: As parameters were ordinal in nature, “Wilcoxon Signed Rank test” is used for intra-group comparison and results were analysed and on 0th, 180th day and 360th day it has shown significant reduction in Illness Dairy. In same way it has also shown significant results in immune status of the child. Conclusion: Swarna Prashana has a unique immune enhancing property along with improvement in general health status and intellectual health.

In this era of modernization and civilization society is conscious enough about "What to eat?" The awareness about food items, their quantity, quality and nutritional values is increasing gradually, then also the popularity of fast food is greater due to the fast life. Due to the demand of time, most of the people are bound to do such things, which adversely affect the health by vitiating digestive functions. The disease " Grahani Roga" is the main and leading disorder of the Gastrointestinal tract. As the hypo function of Agni i.e Mandagni is the root cause of all the diseases. Grahani Roga is also mainly caused by Agnidushti. The organ Grahani and Agni have Ashraya and Ashrayi type of relationship. In Ayurvedic classics the basic approach to the concept of health is essentially psychosomatic in nature which was related to the state of equilibrium of physio biochemical factors namely Dosha, Agni, Dhatu, and Mala and a state of wellbeing of mental and spiritual forces. Sharirika and Manasika Doshas are found to be affecting mutually each other. In the context of Grahani Roga also there is profound role of Aharaja, Viharaja and Manasika Bhavas in Nidana as well as in Samprapti, therefore Abhojana, Ajeerna bhojana, Vishamashana, etc considered as Aharaja nidanas. Viharaja nidanas as Deshavaishamya, Panchakarma Apachara, Vegadharana and Krodhadi as Manasika nidanas were considered in clinical observation.

GODHOOM & YAVA PINDA CHIKITSHA IN PRASRAMSINI YONI VYAPD (SECOND DEGREE UTERINE PROLAPSE WITH CYSTORECTOCELE) GODHOOM & YAVA PINDA CHIKITSHA IN PRASRAMSINI YONI VYAPD(二度子宫脱垂伴膀胱直肠囊肿)

In modern era due to altered lifestyle and working motherhood, the rest needed for women during menstruation & during puerperal period is not available. Acharyas have been mentioned the importance of Rajahswalacharya and Sutika Paricharya in our classics. Protrusion of the pelvic organs into or out of the vaginal canal is known as Pelvic Organ Prolapse. It results from weakening or damage to pelvic supporting structures that maintain pel-vic organs' position in-situ. The problem unmasks after delivery and with age progression, due to injury/ laxity of pelvic supporting structures. Anything that increases intra-abdominal pressure can lead to pelvic organ prolapse e.g., chronic constipation, heavy weightlifting& strenuous exercises. Acharya Sushruta has mentioned that Prasramsini Yonivyapda occurs due to chronic irritation & difficult labor. Clinical features of Prasramsini Yonivyapda are Pitta and Vata dominant. According to WHO estimation the global prevalence of uterine pro-lapse is 2-20%. A non-surgical approach to relieve the symptoms is need of hour as surgical management is not a good option for a female of reproductive age group. Moreover, recto cystocele corrected by colpoperineorraphy sometimes doesn’t provide sustainable results. A female patient aged 42 years came to PTSR OPD with com-plaints of something coming out of her vagina for 6 months, heaviness and pain in lower back for 6 months. SthanikChikitsa (Local treatment) was advocated to her for three consecutive cycles after clearance of menses. Yoni Purana was done with medicated Yava, Godhuma Pind (by inserting in vagina) after local Snehan and Sve-dana. Pre and post POP-Q scale were used to assess the results. Patients got relief in her symptoms through this Ayurvedic approach.
