Gridhrasi is one of the eighty Nanatmaja Vata Vyadhies described by Acharya Charaka. Clinically, it is distin-guished by acute hip or lower back pain that extends from the buttock to the back of one thigh and leg. One of the most prevalent issues in society today is severe low back pain that radiates to the toes of either one or both lower limbs. The sciatica nerve (L4, L5, S1, S2, S3), a sizable nerve stretching from the lower back and down the back of each leg, causes discomfort along its length. The diseased person moves like a vulture when they walk. Acharya Charaka, Bruhad Nighantu Ratnakar, and Bharat Bhaishajya Ratnakar explain the Gridhrasihar taila for managing Gridhrasi. Two forms of Gridhrasi, Vataja and Vata-Kaphaja, have been mentioned in classical Ayurvedic literature. Ac-cording to Ayurveda, Gridhrasi is one of the illnesses brought on by the vitiation of Vata, which is one of the fundamentals doshas in the body and is in charge of its movement and functionality. Gridhrasi can occasionally be brought on by both Vata and Kapha vitiation (Vata Kaphaja). Only conservative treatments provide tempo-rary pain relief or surgical interventions that have negative effects. The recurrence of sciatica pain after surgery is widespread. Ayurveda management provides no recurrenceable cure for Gridhrasi. In this case study, a 46-year-old female patient suffering from Gridhrasi was treated with Ayurvedic Chikitsa for 45 days in Kayachikitsa IPD and OPD of the Post Graduate Institute of Ayurveda, Jodhpur. Treatment is given: Vishwadi Guggulu 2 tablets (each 500mg) given twice daily with lukewarm water and Kati Basti with Gridhrasihar tail for 15 days.

We know that Ayurveda is a branch of life science with answers to all medical problems. The disease known as Vatarakta is one of the ailments of Sammurchhna of Vata and Rakta. With Rakta acting as the main Dushya, it is a Vatapradhana Tridoshaja Vyadhi. Therefore, in Vatarakta, multiple etiological factors impact both Vata and Rakta. Acharya Sushruta detailed it in the Vatavyadhi Chikitsa chapter, but Acharya Charaka and Vagbhatta noted it in a separate chapter. Vatarakta may be related to gouty arthritis according to its causes, signs, and symptoms. Gouty arthritis is a purine protein metabolism disorder marked by hyperuricemia and monosodium urate crystal deposition in the joints. It is a chronic metabolic disorder of the musculoskeletal system that results in unbearable pain, discomfort, swelling, and a burning sensation in the affected joints. In this article, we focus on managing Vatarakta (gout) through Ayurveda. A 60-year-old female patient reported to the outdoor department of PGIA, Jodhpur, with complaints of Sandhi Shoola (pain in toes), Sandhi Shotha (swelling), and Daha (burning sensation) for the last six months. Other associate complaints were Vibandha(constipation), Daurbalyata(weakness), Shramahani (lethargy), incapacity, and excessive sleep for four months. The patient was diagnosed with Vatarakta (gout). Singhasyadi Kwatha was given orally twice a day after meals for 45 days. After 45 days of treatment, a significant response was found.

In today's era, human life is more stressful. Due to changes in lifestyle, professional stress, travelling, and food habits, people are more susceptible to various degenerative disorders like Manyastambha. Manyastambha is the clinical entity in which the back of the neck becomes stiff or rigid, and pain, Stambha in the cervical region and movement of the neck are hampered. It is the most common degenerative disease by which a larger group of the community has been affected. Manyastambha has been enumerated in eighty Nanatmaj Vyadhis as well as Urdhwajatrugata Vikaras. It can be clinically co-related with cervical Spondylosis in modern medicine. Cervical Spondylosis is a degenerative condition of the cervical spine. Ruk and Stambha are the primary symptoms. If severe, it may cause pressure on nerve roots with subsequent sensory or motor disturbances. Today is the era of modernization and fast life. Everybody is busy and living a stressful life. In the present observational study, housewives are more prone to develop Manyastambha (cervical spondylosis), followed by clerks, tailors, farmers and IT professionals.

The fundamental branch of medical science is Ayurveda. Therefore, it is important to understand the basics of Sharir. Ayurveda offers a number of Sharir concepts that should be interpreted in light of modern knowledge. Srotas is a fundamental concept and term in Ayurveda, yet it should be explained to students of the Ayurveda. The body consists an enormous quantity of Srotas. Srotas are necessary for all physiological and pathological processes to take place in the body. Srotas were discussed by Acharya Charaka from a medical perspective, and by Charaka from a surgical perspective. The first and most significant Srotas, known as Pranavaha Srotas, which transports Prana all across the body. By examining the Srotas Mulasthana, Lakshana, and Vahana as well as any relevant literature on Pranvaha Srotas, respiration, etc., the concept of these Srotas is described, and this article elaborates on how it relates to the respiratory system and internal and external respiration. Clearing up misconceptions about Srotas and Pranvaha Srotas will be beneficial to Ayurveda students.

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian medical system. Sports medicine is a discipline of medicine that deals with physical fitness as well as the treatment and prevention of sports and exercise-related injuries. Direct references of this neither mentioned in ancient nor in modern medicine. Sportsmen's basic needs are to maintain fitness throughout events and to have increased physical and mental stamina. Sports medicine has two objectives. The primary goal is to improve the athlete's fitness, and the secondary goal is to treat the athlete's athletic injuries. So, without a doubt, prevention is better than treatment in the case of athletes. When it comes to prevention, Ayurveda may play a major role, as the first goal of Ayurveda is "Prevention of Health." Ayurveda is one of the world’s oldest holistic healing systems, which is based on the thought that health and wellness depend on a fine equilibrium between the mind, body and spirit. Ayurveda can make some possible contributions to this field of sports medicine. We certainly do not find direct references to sports medicine in Ayurvedic samhitas, but after much close observation and precise interpretation of Ayurvedic texts, we discovered an idea about how to deal with sports medicine. Vyayama (exercise), Abhyanga (massage), Yoga Asanas, Dhyana (meditation), Rasayana (Rejuvenation therapy), Dincharya (Daily regimen) and other Ayurvedic procedures can provide the best results in sports medicine.
