Drug-eluting stent with rhombic-shape reservoirs for drug delivery 菱形储药库药物洗脱支架

A novel drug-eluting stent with rhombic-shape drug reservoirs is proposed, aimed at providing smart drug delivery and longer fatigue life. By creating the rhombic-shape reservoirs, a stent could increase its total drug capacity and improves its stress distribution for fatigue life enhancement. Simulation results showed that the total drug capacity of our stent could be significantly increased without sacrificing its fatigue life. This is astonishing considering that the stent mechanical integrity could be deteriorated by creating channels on the stent structure.

The innovative design of schoolbag for elementary school students by integrating functional demand-oriented and TRIZ 将功能需求导向与TRIZ相结合的小学生书包创新设计

In Taiwan, the features of the commercially available schoolbags for senior elementary students cannot meet their actual needs. Moreover, when the commercially available schoolbag is loaded with a certain weight, the comfort of carrying it on the back has not been scientifically tested. A schoolbag with features that meet the needs of the students and scientifically tested comfort is indispensable. Therefore, this study conducted questionnaire survey to identify the most needed functional features of schoolbags for the elementary school students of senior grades. Moreover, TRIZ was applied to implement the innovative design of the schoolbag for elementary school students. The Borg RPE rating scale score of the proposed innovative schoolbag is 10, which is lower than the score of the commercially available schoolbag of 13, suggesting the use of the proposed innovative schoolbag provides higher comfort. In the test, fifth grade elementary school students were asked to carry the schoolbag with a weight of 5kg to continuously run for 4 minutes. When carrying the innovative schoolbag, the heartbeat bpm of the students increased by 32.5, which is lower than that of the commercially available schoolbag heartbeat bpm of 37.5. This also suggests that the proposed innovative design of schoolbag provides higher comfort in use. The research results have high practical value, so the schoolbags can better meet the needs of the students.

Adding video files for product operational analysis in the web analytical system 在web分析系统中添加视频文件用于产品运营分析

In the web Kansei image survey, one single perspective view, but not the multiple views for detailed product information, is often offered for the subject evaluation. In addition to the multiple views, the 2-dimensional web analytical system proposed in this study integrates the eye tracking system to offer more precise product form preference data. However, it is rarely seen in studies regarding the video files for product operation in the web survey. To solve this problem, video files for the user interface are added in the web analytical system. The web technique and quantitative analytical method will help solve the dynamic problem in the complicated product operation during new product design and development. In this study, three preschool toy ideas are used for the parents' preference in product operation. The survey verifies the suitability and feasibility of integrating video files with multiple views in the web analytical system. This will upgrade the function and service of the web analytical system in the new product design and development.

Rapid dual-wavelength imaging ellipsometric system with stroboscopic illumination technique 采用频闪照明技术的快速双波长成像椭偏系统

Dual-wavelength light sources with stroboscopic illumination technique were applied in photoelastic modulated ellipsometry to retrieve two-dimensional ellipsometric parameters of thin films on a silicon substrate. Two laser diodes are alternatively switched on and modulated by a programmable pulse generator for triggering four short pulses at their specific temporal phase angle of a modulation cycle, and short pulses are used to freeze the intensity variation of the PEM modulated signal that images can be captured by a charge-coupled device. Although the phase retardation of a photoelastic modulator is related to the light wavelength, we employed an equivalent temporal phase shift technique to avoid any setting from the photoelastic modulator. As a result, ellipsometric parameters of different wavelengths can be rapidly obtained from this dual-wavelength ellipsometric system every 10s. Both static and dynamitic experiments were demonstrated in this work.

Investigation of a wheel-knife module with feedback torque signal for generation six to eight flat panel cutting 第六代至第八代平板切割用反馈扭矩信号轮刀模块的研究

In this paper, we would investigate a wheel-knife module with feedback torque signal for generation six to eight flat panel cutting. The system of the investigated wheel-knife module was designed by using the servo type because thus type had the following figure merits. (1) The servo type could proceed with the stable cutting motion and its cutting depth would have a uniform value. (2) When the cutting process was carried out, the servo type could have smaller residual chippings. (3) The residual chippings on the cutting lines were more uniform and smaller than other system. The figure merit of the investigated system is that the signal can be feedback to the panel cutting platform, then we can immediately control the model and process of wheel-knife module via the control system of the panel cutting platform.

A grey evaluation approach to measure logistics companies' performance 物流企业绩效的灰色评价方法

Logistics plays an important role in globalized companies, and contributes to the development of foreign trade. A large number of external conditions such as recession and inflation affect logistics. Therefore, managers should find ways to improve operational performance, enabling them to increase profits. Based on data collected from the financial reports of top global logistics companies, this study uses a Grey forecasting approach to forecast future input and output values. Consequently, the study addresses the problem of how to enhance operational performance while accounting for the impact of external conditions. This research can help logistics companies develop operation strategies in the future that will enhance their competitiveness vis-a-vis rivals in a time of global economic volatility.

Electromagnetic effects of non-ionizing radiation on a cell nucleus and cell assembly 非电离辐射对细胞核和细胞组合的电磁效应

Electromagnetic radiation can be classified into ionizing and non-ionizing varieties. In this study, we designed two-beam optical tweezers to demonstrate that non-ionizing radiation could induce intercellular attraction between human red blood cells by its electromagnetic nature. An infrared spot in the optical tweezers was irradiated on an assembly of RBCs to polarize them and derived attractive interaction; the other visible spot was used to gauge the sub-pN intercellular interaction. It was found that 34~57 μW/μm2 IR radiation could cause attraction among a 3~4 RBC cluster; the power density was equivalent to only 10-3~10-2 of that used in a CD drive. We found that the intercellular interaction was approximately proportional to the power density of the IR radiation. Besides, we observed 36 minutes of 75 μW/μm2 IR radiation could shrink the nucleus of an onion cuticle cell. Based on these results, we established a model to describe the electromagnetic effect of non-ionizing radiation on a cell assembly by inducing the micro-stresses transverse to its propagation axis.

The green energy transmission module implements the dynamically constructed pivoting antenna with various green energy power sources. The pivoting antenna can be dynamically extended and connected. Based on the implementation of proposed system, the original power-load units can obtain the power wirelessly without using mercury battery or wired power line.

DOA estimation based on an improved hybrid PSOGSA approach for CDMA system 基于改进混合PSOGSA方法的CDMA系统DOA估计

In this paper, we consider the problem of estimating the direction-of-arrival (DOA) of code-division multiple access (CDMA) signals. It has been shown that the searching complexity and estimating accuracy of the conventional spectral searching methods strictly depend on the number of search grids used during the search. It is time consuming and the required number of search grids is not easy to determine. As proposed in this paper, a hybrid population-based algorithm (PSOGSA) is proposed with the combination of particle swarm optimization (PSO) and gravitational search algorithm (GSA). The main idea is to integrate the ability of exploitation in PSO with the ability of exploration in GSA to synthesize both algorithms' strength. However, the proposed technique offers a much faster convergence compared to the PSO. For the purpose to increase the estimation accuracy, we also propose an improved PSOGSA with adaptive multiple velocity, which depend on first-order Taylor series expansion of the objective function. In conjunction with an improved PSOGSA for angle searching, the proposed approach can achieve the advantages of reducing search complexity and more accurate estimate over existing conventional spectral searching method. Finally, several computer simulation examples are provided for illustration and comparison.

As Internet of Things (IOT), cloud computing, and other information technologies keep evolving, the core of UI design will become consolidated while the visual form will diversify, thus exerting a more evident influence on the "biological" features of living intelligent instrument. The author hopes that this study will shed some light on the future development of machine-to-machine interaction represented by intelligent appliance.
