Recently, research on electronic stability control (ESC) of in-wheel motor electric vehicles has progressed considerably; however, the control effect cannot fulfil the comprehensive requirement for vehicle active safety. This paper proposes a hierarchical yaw stability controller with direct torque distribution. Using the sliding mode control method, the upper controller outputs a desired yaw moment. Then, taking advantage of multiple in-wheel motors, four distributed torque commands are cooperatively adjusted and given out by the lower controller. Additionally, a dynamic torque limiter is designed to restrain unintended acceleration. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness in improving the vehicle stability and handling performance.

Malignant tumor, also known as carcinoma, is the first top 10 causes of death in which the cervical carcinoma is the top 5 common cancer of women. With the popularization of Pap test, the rank of cervical carcinoma has a declining trend. The prevention of cervical carcinoma depends on early detection and treatment. Pap test is the most effective method for early screening. With the increase of the screening rate, there were more and more workload to the doctors and medical staff. Subjective view, heavy duty and overworked were causing the mistakes of the screening. Therefore, the automatic computer-aided system for Pap test is the new trend to solve it. In this paper, we used the Bethesda system, a system for reporting cervical or vaginal cytological diagnoses, as the basis of screening, and image processing and computer vision method are applied to retrieve the feature of abnormal cells. Carcinoma cell nucleus segmentation is the key step to automated screening system for Pap test of cervical smear. In this study, we segment the cell of smear image into nucleus and cytoplasm in HSV color space. The color representation of smear image is first transformed from RGB to HSV, and image noise is removed by medium filtering. Then, cell nucleus and cytoplasm can be segmented from image background by color clustering. From the experiments, it is proved that the proposed method is efficient and successful.

This study proposes a simplified RF electrical model for advance chip design circuits using through Silicon via (TSV) interconnection which is passed through complicated material layers in three dimensional (3D) stacks. The structure of TSVs are usually combined with bumps and redistribution layers (RDLs) to achieve its function. The model to describe the TSVs electrical characteristic can be seemed as RLC schematic circuit response to input signal, so an electrical model based on analytical RLC is proposed, and an analytic circuit analysis simulator (ADS) is employed to verify the accuracy of scattering parameter (S parameter) with a 3D electromagnetic field solver (HFSS).

The objective of image up-sampling is to produce the correlated high resolution image from a low resolution image. In this project, we propose to apply neural network on texture database mapping to achieve a more time efficient image up-sampling algorithm. A texture database of high-resolution images will be built in advance before the up-sampling procedure starts. The proposed method consists of two stages: 1. Train a set of neural networks (NNs) for classifying textures; 2. Match each pixel to its corresponding NN of high-resolution textures. In the first stage, we train a set of neural networks (one NN for each kind of texture) from the high-resolution texture database. After the set of NNs is well trained, a high resolution pixel value can be obtained by passing a low resolution pixel into a NN of its corresponding texture. In the second stage, for an input low resolution image, we firstly segment it according to its textures (texture segmentation), then match each pixel to its corresponding NN of high-resolution textures in the database. A super-resolution image can be obtained after all pixels have been matched. In order to avoid excessive human artificial results, the outputs of the proposed method have to be down-sampled and compared with the original low resolution image for further adjusting. The up-sampled image will not be output until the difference between the down-sampled image and original image is within a predefined constraint.

The study attempts to link the Fibonacci sequence into the engineering to define the critical parameters of spiral micro-channel model by the application of Taguchi method. Taguchi method approach for problem solving and combine with Fibonacci sequence is proposed to design, predict fluid flow, and heat transfer. The parameters design of the spiral micro-channel and adequately handles by the numerical functions was obtained from the Computational Fluid Dynamics software (CFD) (ANSYS 14). In additional, Minitab 17 software was also used to analyze the collected data. The result shows that a good agreement was achieved for the comparison of the minimum pressure drop and thermal resistance of the spiral micro-channel.

We developed a simple method to fabricate indium (In)-doped ZnO nanosheets UV photodetector on the glass substrate. The average length and diameter were 3.06 μm and approximately 38 nm, respectively. The In-doped ZnO nanostructure concentration was 0.34 at.% by SEM-EDX analysis. The UV-to-visible rejection ratio of the sample is ~312 when biased at 1 V, and the fabricated UV PD is visible blind with a sharp cutoff at 360 nm. The photocurrent and dark-current constant ratio of the fabricated PD was ~740 when biased at 1 V.

The Yunlin County government plans to establish the "Yunlin Hand Puppet Study Center" near the Yunlin High Speed Rail Station, and move the hand puppet artifacts from the existing museum. As a result, the Yunlin Hand Puppet Theatre Museum is facing a new challenge to transform itself. The researcher conducted a literature review to understand the history and the current situation of the museum, and took up residency in the museum along with fifteen young people for study purposes. Based on the reconfiguration and planning of the existing space, art curatorship and event design was used to rejuvenate and reutilize the building. The researcher has identified an effective utilization of space that can allow the building to retain its original function of displaying the hand puppet theater while also becoming a place for nurturing talent for local cultural centers in Yunlin.

The boom of gaming industry in Southeast Asia has resulted in the increase of large-scale tourism casinos and small and medium casinos. Manually managing the revenue and the members of casinos are considered insufficient but the costs and the maintenance for large-scale systems are abundant that lots of small and medium casinos still adopt manual management. Nonetheless, the increasing number of casinos has enhanced the fierce competition among casinos; and, gaming industry, which used to make money easily, now can make profits merely by effective management. The importance of casino management systems is therefore largely enhanced. Technologically, the introduction of cloud computing could solve the problems of acquiring the same services without investing enormous costs and merely focusing on system management but having system management companies assist in the maintenance. Furthermore, applying QR codes to ID authentication could solve many problems for casinos. Traditionally, the members could accumulate the reward points for free coupons of meals, accommodation, and gifts with the membership cards. Now, the members could have QR codes as the temporary ID authentication, instead of membership cards, that casinos could save the cost for making membership cards. The analysis of casinos achieved the business intelligence through cloud computing allows small and medium casinos to present more efficient management and better competitiveness, as such casinos cannot provide comparative equipment as large-scale tourism casinos can customize services becoming stronger. However, understanding the preference of members and timely offering customized services are the best effectiveness of business intelligence analysis.

In recent years, governments and civil society committed to promote the talents cultivation of community to recognize communities' local culture characteristics. In order to understand the community to implement community empowerment, this research tries to explore the issues of how to integrate the activity design and create value for the community in the process of talents cultivation and community development in partnership of "Gong Shi". To attain this research purpose, the present study adopt the theories of Community Empowerment and Activity Design, and the methods of Participant Observation and Literature Analysis, it is expected to explore its role in promoting the process of community renaissance, which could understand their targets and the difficulties by research results. The research objectives are as follows: 1 Combining the cultural and design resources to develop the community. 2 Cultivating the local talented actively and encourage younger residents to participate to solve the difficulties of community development. 3 With the creativity and efforts of "Gong Shi" team members, it is expected that the success of community empowerment lies in the training and the innovation of planning and design while providing a positive outlet for creative expression. Finally, the process of talents cultivation and community development was carried out to formulate the consensus, planning and action for allowing residents to properly act in a state of harmony unity and cooperation.
