Tulisan ini membahas tentang pengaruh teologi Ash’ariyah dalam salah satu kitab Tafsir ulama Nusantara. Sebagai sebuah karya, hasil interpretasi al-Qur’ân tidak akan pernah lepas dari pengaruh backgroud sosial-kultural, teologi dan keilmuan penulis. Tafsir Jami’ al-Bayan ini cukup menarik karena masih menggunakan tulisan tangan yang dibukukan oleh pondok Grobogan. Selain itu, jarang sekali karya tafsir ulama Nusantara yang berbahasa Arab. Penelitian ini menggunakan kajian pustaka (library research) dengan hermeneutika sebagai pisau analisisnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh teologi Ash’ariyah sangat nampak ketika Kyai Muhammad berbicara tentang ayat-ayat sifat dan mutasyâbihat. Meskipun kadang dalam kitab tafsirnya, Kyai Muhammad tidak memberikan bantahan yang begitu signifikan. Hal ini merupakan konsekuensi logis dari tafsir Ijmâli. Namun, ittijah I’tiqâdy cukup kental mewarnai tafsiran beliau ketika menafsirkan ayat-ayat teologi

As a branch of the Hadith’s discipline, the study of ‘Ilal al-Hadith must have a historical root gene that cannot separate from the figure’s intellection and ideas. The author will examine the emergence and development of that knowledge through this article, together with the paradigm shift in numbers seen from the practice of ta’lil. In terms of tracking and analysis, the authors use genealogical theory. The results showed that the science of ‘Ilal al-Hadith was the formulation of rules extracted from the practice of ta’lil that existed during the companions of the Prophet. This practice documented in the second and third centuries of Hijriyah, then formulated as a scientific discipline in the fourth century to the new century. From the development of this knowledge, it can be illustrated by a pattern of shifting perspectives towards ‘illah, from defects that are general and evident, to special notes, which are not clear and found in the Hadith that seem authentic

In modern reality, exist an intersection between hermeneutic applications based on the motivation of war and peace. The existence of subjective hermeneutics is identical as a breakdown in every difference but the fact that it raise chaos ignores the interpretation of synonymity change into regressive sophistic interpretation. The purpose of this research is to place subjective hermeneutics as a study of the free interpretation of sophia claims discipline (wise) with the assumption that it gives birth to renewable ethical polarization and also progressive. This research is a library that is used to answer specific problems directly that raises the perspective of truth claims of interpretation that is different from the old interpretations. The results showed that subjective hermeneutics should conciliate collaborations of narrative (haggadic interpretations), prescribed ways of life (halakhic rules) and (meaningholders of early texts (masoretic sources). But subjective hermeneutics propagates authoritative hermeneutics that distinguishes between original (competent) meanings and non-original (non-competent) meanings. Syaḥrur through subjective hermeneutics uses perversion (taḥrif method) from the word in Qur’an such as lawful ownership (milk yamin), solemn convenant (mithâq), adultery (zinâ) and illegal sexual intercouse (fawâḥiṡ) to initiate non-marital marriages.

This article is based on a variety of Seruway Aceh society phenomenon which is separated into two communities. One of them becomes a representative of the majority and the other as a representative of a minority. Ma’rifah community is a minority that got discriminative treatment from the majority one. Nevertheless, this community was able to expand as a majority. The article is aimed at explaining the relation of the Ma’rifah community in forming Sufistic identity in religious social space in Seruwey Aceh and it is aimed at explaining its effect onthe variation of religious practice. The research is the social anthropology of the ethnographic approach. The data were collected through interview, subject for the research was determined by using purposive sampling. The resultsshow that; first, the Ma’rifah community is successful in developing familial relationships, a close friend and using power relations as capital in forming Sufistic habitus. Second, the Ma’rifah community presented an effect on religion variant, it is not only between majority and minority, but Ma’rifah community itself is separated into several communities, a part of Them still in Sufistic ideology which is opposite of majority, and some others negotiate to be part of the majority

Tulisan ini mendiskusikan hadis Miswar bin Makhramah tentang pinangan Ali bin Abi Thalib kepada Juwairiyah binti Abu Jahal. Kajian ini penting untuk dilakukan karena menyorot fenomena yang bersinggungan langsung dengan sahabat agung dan sekaligus menantu Rasulullah. Tulisan ini menjelaskan tentang status sanad hadis Miswar, status matan hadis Miswar, dan pemahaman terhadap hadis Miswar. Studi kritis analitis diharapkan mampu menghasilkan jawaban yang objektif dari segala macam tuduhan yang diarahkan kepada hadis Miswar. Metode yangdigunakan adalah deduktif, analitis, dan kritis dengan cara menghimpun semua bentuk problem dan kecacatan, kemudian menganalisa, dan setelah itu mengkritisinya. Sementara itu pendekatan yang digunakan adalah fiqh al-hadis. kajian ini meyimpulkan bahwa: Pertama, hadis Miswar bin Makhramah tetap menyandang gelar hadis sahih dan semua kecacatan yang dialamatkan kepadanya tidak mengurangi nilai kesahihan hadis. Tulisan ini ingin membuktikan bahwa Azami sekalipun, yang dikenal ‘anti’ barat, secara subtansi melakukan kerja hermeneutika. Metode kajian hadis Azami, baik sanad maupun matan akan ditarik dalam diskusi hermeneutika hadis, yang dalam hal ini penulis akan menggunakan tiga unsur dasar dalam wacana hermeneutika, yakni author (perawi), teks (hadis) dan reader (Azami). Tulisan ini mengekplorasi seputar relasi antara teori double movement dari Fazlur Rahman dengan kaidah al-Ibrah bi umumil-lafdz la bi khusus as-sabab, untuk mengetahui makna universal dari QS. al-Ahzab: 36-38, yakni menghubungkan kondisi yang terjadi sekarang dengan masa dimana ayat di turunkan, kemudian kembali ke masa sekarang untuk diterapkan dalam rangka pemaknaan secara umum sebagai langkah kontekstualisasi terhadap pesan-pesan al-Qur’an. Tulisan ini merupakan kajian pustaka yang bersifat deskriptif, yakni menganalisis, meneliti, dan dipelajari sebagai sesuatu yang utuh. Dengan hasil, dari penerapan teori tersebut pada QS al-Ahzab[33]: 36-38 yang mengkisahkan hukum mencakup Zainab binti Jahsyi, kemudian tentang Rasulullah yang Allah ilhamkan untuk menikahi Zainab yang telah di ceraikan oleh Zaid. Mempunyai nilai universal dan signifikansi supaya laki-laki maupun perempuan untuk mentaati Allah dan Rasul-Nya sebagai contoh dan teladan hidup. Sehingga ayat tersebut tidak hanya berlaku untuk konteks itu saja melainkan berlaku secara umum di masa kini.

This article aims to explain maqâṣid al-Qur’ân according to M. Quraish Shihab and its application in interpreting verses related to the use of social media. The problem that will be answered in this article covers two main issues, namely how the perspective of maqâṣid al-Qur’ân according to M. Quraish Shihab and how it is applied in interpreting the verses of the use of social media. The method used is the thematic method, namely discussing verses based on themes. Fr om this study the authors concluded that according to M. Quraish Shihab there are six elements of a large group of universal goals of the al-Qur’ân, namely strengthening the faith, humans as caliphs, unifying books, law enforcement, callers to the ummah of wasathan, and mastering world civilization. The quality of information lies in the strength of the monotheistic dimension which is the highest peak of the Qur’anic maqâṣid. M. Quraish Shihab offers six diction which can be done by recipients of information in interacting on social media. Thus, it aims to usher in the knowledge and understanding of what is conveyed in carrying out human mission as caliph, enlightenment through oral and written, law enforcement, unifying mankind and the universe to the ummah of wasathan, and mastery of world civilization

In the first of 20th century, there were two local hadith books written by two archipelago scholars whose teacher and student status, namely the al-Minhah al-Khairiyah fî Arba’îna Hadîtsan min Ahâdîtsi Khair al-Bariyyah by Mahfuzh al-Tarmasi (d. 1919/1920 AD) and the Arba’ûna Hadîtsan Tata’allaqu bi Mabâdi’u Jam’iyyatu Nahdlatu al-Ulamâ’ by Hasyim Ash'ari (d. 1947 AD). Both of books have a different theme structure from the Arba'in tradition books written by their teachers in the Middle East. For this reason, this paper focuses on how the writing context and the intelectual discourse are contained in the text. The two books of Arba’in hadith were written in order to counter wahabism that at that time attacked the religious thoughts and practices of the archipelago Muslims with the accusations of takfirism. The morality in these books is more directed to moderate the attitudes towards anyone, even against the enemy. As like Ritchey, yellow book or turats is an effective medium for moderating religious attitudes in Islam

The debate over the origin of the wind between medieval scientists and theologians became a hot issue. Scientists that consist of philosophers based their arguments on empirical facts and theologians were based on the revelation of a l-Qur’an and Hadith. One of the medieval theologians was al-Majlisī (1037-1110/1627-98). He interpreted cosmological verses based on the process, categorization, and the term of al-Qur'an. This research is a library research using a historical approach to obtain data and conducting content analysis. As for the term related to the Qur'an about wind, a semantic approach was used. Primary data was the work of al-Majlisī, Biḥār al-Anwar. The results of the study indicated that al-Majlisī rejected the astrological theory which stated that wind is a spin of air originating from the smallest particular composition of the earth, heated, and subjected to evaporation. According to al-Majlisī, the wind caused by God's will in power to blow it with the intensity that He desired. According to al-Majlisī, the wind can be distinguished whether it is beneficial or not as found in a l- Q ur'an
