The novel as a literary genre appeared in the eighteenth century with the rise of the mid-class as a form of entertainment. Nickola Spark is one of the modern American novelists. He is a New York Times bestseller author with over eighty million international copies in forty-five languages. The researcher aims to examine Spark’s “The Lucky One” (2008) according to the Russian folklorist and scholar Vladimir Propp’s Morphology of the Folktale (1927). Even though Propp's theory used to apply to folktales, some researchers apply it to novels, such as Nursantia (2003), entitled "The Moral Aspect in Joseph Conrad's 'Heart of Darkness'" and Salmah (2004) in his thesis entitled "The Moral Forms in Charles Dickens's 'Our Mutual Friend'". Thus, the lack of applying Propp's theory on novels in general and modern text in specific encourages the researcher to fill this gap in the study by applying Propp's Morphology of the Folktale to a modern novel, “The Lucky One” (2008). Trying to answer the following research questions: 1) Is it possible to apply Vladimir Propp’s Morphology of the Folktale (1927) to Nicholas Spark’s novel “The Lucky One”? 2) What are the good and bad morals portrayed by the main characters in “The Lucky One”? 3)How many features of Propp’s thirty-one features can be found in Nickola Spark’s “The Lucky One”?

In 2019, a climatic wake-up call was made by the IPCC as the world’s temperature is projected to increase by 4-6°C. With the systematically ingrained capitalist imperatives in the political and economic landscape, the notion of “green capitalism” was introduced in the justification of limitless economic growth with less energy consumption than the world can sustainably produce (Schweickart, 2010). Prior research has identified heterogenous stances on green capitalism. However, sustainable transition research has neither clarified the realistic middle ground that it should pursue, nor has it determined whether a pro- or anti-capitalistic stance should be taken in the first place (Feola, 2020). Through a literature review, the analysis of heterogeneous stances on green capitalism based on its debate scopes reveals the need to exploit capitalist imperatives to a sustainably appropriate extent rather than forcing it to produce a midway standpoint of the “Net Zero” global consensus. The findings suggest the need for a potential reconceptualization of capitalism in the political and economic landscape as a tool of green revolution toward sustainable transition, providing a realistic middle ground.

This article discusses the importance and articulation of innovation policy from the point of view of the entrepreneurial ecosystem approach. The paper takes the form of a literature review. To this end, the authors describe the analysis of industrial policy based on the entrepreneurial ecosystem approach proposed by Stam (2018). The research finds that innovation policy plays a crucial role in a competitive entrepreneurial environment to achieve creative destruction. The Policy tries to solve the problems that hinder the interaction of the factors that make up the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Different policy tools should be developed to formulate policies for the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Additionally, successful innovation policy tools in one ecosystem could be applied in another ecosystem.

Mergers and acquisitions are an important strategic option for a corporation to drive higher growth and profitability. Despite significant investments being made in mergers and acquisitions, past experiences indicate that many mergers and acquisitions fail. The failure is often attributed to employees’ resistance to change. Factors, such as organisation change, culture, leadership, trust, and communication, among others, lead to employees’ resistance to change. This issue has a significant impact on service organisations since human capital is their key source of competitive advantage. The purpose of this study is to determine factors influencing employees’ resistance to change during the post-merger integration. This paper synthesises findings from a systemised literature review of ‘peer-reviewed’ research papers, published from November 2020 to November 2023, in ProQuest and EBSCOhost databases with keywords ‘employees’ resistance to change’ and ‘post-merger integration’. The findings establish strategies managers could adopt such as creating a continuous learning environment, recognition of the existence of subcultures within a culture, greater involvement of middle managers in the integration phase, devising an appropriate reward plan for early adopters, and focusing on the pace of changes. The study outcomes will help organisations in designing effective post-merger integration programmes leading to efficient use of capital.

Managers' roles and corresponding obligations in business organizations are well-established. If a conflict in competing obligations arises, then the concerned manager is generally advised to consult and apply rules as they exist in the form of various laws, policies and guidelines in the country, the profession or the industry, and the organization. These three sets of rules are formulated to help explain an organization's work to managers and others so that they may understand and arrive at judgments to act in the given fact-situations appropriately. However, the rule-following of managers, it is argued, ought to be ethically correct for its own sake and for the sake of the ethical environment in the organization. For this purpose, the managers ought to interpret the rules for their correct applications, in fact-situations, instead of just following the rules. They ought to look for a rational interpretation of rules so they do not compromise their managerial responsibilities, as it is a question of understanding not only letters of rules but also the spirit of rules. The argument continues that apart from understanding the reasons for the rational interpretation of rules, there is also a need to assess the ethical justification of rules because, for example, a professional manager may come across a rule regarding gender discrimination or else he may not find any rule regarding unjust dismissal from the job in his organization. Given the above, I argue in the paper that the rule-following of managers in the organization is ethically required to be rooted in their ability to interpret and ethically justify rules rationally.

Through a theoretical and practical approach, the study presents the main regulations of the right to image, as a personal non-patrimonial right: the Romanian Civil Code, the Romanian Constitution, and the new legislation in the field of personal data. The study presents practical issues such as jurisprudential solutions in Romania regarding the violation of the right to image in the online environment (Facebook, Instagram), television shows, and press articles. Also, the study deals with the much-disputed issues of using the person's image in the procedures for sanctioning the employees, analyzing how the National Authority for Supervision of Personal Data Processing (N.A.S.P.D.P.) from Romania sanctioned the abuses of the employers. The case studies and the analysis of European and Romanian legislation are also useful to students, theoreticians, and legal practitioners.

Indonesia, with a predominantly Muslim population, exhibits low levels of financial literacy and Islamic financial literacy, despite a growing interest in Islamic banking. This research focuses on evaluating the financial literacy of young Indonesians and its relationship with Islamic financial literacy policies. The quantitative approach, based on a survey of 70 respondents, reveals that the youth in Indonesia possess moderate financial literacy and Islamic finance knowledge. Government policies, primarily centered around personal learning and online education, demonstrate limited efficacy in improving financial literacy among the youth. The study suggests that the low level of Islamic financial literacy cannot be solely attributed to existing policies, as other external factors play a significant role. The research emphasizes the need for a more comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted influences on the relationship between Islamic financial literacy and societal outcomes in Indonesia.

Adornment of the human body is a cultural practice commonly found among all races and nationalities. These adornments represent their identities. Humans have created decorative pieces called jewelry, and each item plays a different role. Jewelry made from valuable materials is often considered expensive and symbolizes a wealthy status, as in this capitalist world, expensive objects are associated with the rich. Jewelry reflects a person's character, which is often intertwined with various subcultures. The materials used in jewelry represent one's sense of self, with markings on the body showcasing their character and spiritual connection to the object. The selection of materials is driven by the desire to express different facets of their identities. Those who fail to grasp the true meaning of these identities will not understand the genuine reasons for wearing these items. In the 21st century, global warming has spurred a move towards more sustainable design. Environmentally friendly production has become the new trend, where materials are chosen to reflect the essence of true adornment, while also being mindful of the environment. This growing environmental awareness has inspired action to support a long-lasting and eco-friendly environment.

This research aims to explicate how the ideology of masculinity is represented in Raditya Dika's stand-up comedy. Stand-Up Comedy Raditya Dika (SUCRD) is a collection of stand-up comedy performances created by comedian and writer Raditya Dika since 2016. Humor centered around masculinity and all things related to it consistently features in Raditya Dika's stand-up material. Using Roland Barthes' semiotic approach, this research examines masculinity within the context of SUCRD performances, with a specific focus on one episode titled Cowok Goblok featuring two monologues. This episode serves as an illustrative example of how masculine ideology is represented. The researcher limits the scope to one episode to avoid data saturation. Two key findings emerge from this study. Firstly, masculine ideology is conveyed verbally through the use of affiliative humor and self-enhancing humor. Secondly, masculine ideology is represented through narratives about decision-making, maturity, characteristics, expectations, and appearance of men. Stand-up comedy serves as a medium and space for the perpetuation of masculinity.
