The controversy in the Mexican media is analyzed for the alleged relationship of the #Metoo movement with the suicide of a musician accused of harassment. This controversy opened a debate on the relevance of the anonymous report of the harassment, its legal, social and personal implications, both for the victims and for the accused. Following the theoretical-methodological proposal of cultural sociology, a review was made of the opinion columns that dealt with the subject. The movement was interpreted in the media as: a) an expression of legitimate justice; b) a justified manifestation but contaminated by rancor and revenge; c) as an expression that sought from the beginning the digital lynching of alleged harassers. This dispute allows us to understand the challenges of feminist justice in cases of violence against women.

The process of political negotiation in Mexico has not been easy. It requires willingness and commitment, as well as pragmatism and rationality. The actors involved in politics pursue interests and to achieve them they participate in dialogues and meetings with others. The reconstruction of the country after the Mexican Revolution was a sign of a broad-spectrum negotiation. The Federalism, a flag raised during the revolutionary combats, was a current demand at the beginning of the New Mexican State and during the Twentieth Century originating constitutional reforms. In short, the political negotiation and the prevailing order changed when the emanated party from the Revolution lost its hegemony in the legislative power and new dynamics of cohabitation were promoted.

Es un libro que recoge, a lo largo de sus 549 páginas, un asunto de imperante actualidad: La seguridad pública, nacional e internacional. espanolEste articulo parte de las tensiones metodologicas registradas en la literatura reciente sobre alianzas electorales entre estudios cuantitativos y los registros empiricos de elecciones donde no se cumplen las expectativas teoricas. Buscando encontrar las razones de esta anomalia, se propone identificar los factores que inhiben el efecto de las variables independientes –los llamados mecanismos causales–, a partir de estudios de caso. En este sentido, el articulo expone el giro metodologico al respecto, previa revision de las limitaciones de los estudios cuantitativos y la necesidad de complementarlos desde una aproximacion cualitativa. Mediante un ejemplo de seleccion intencionada de observaciones, se visualiza la riqueza del ejercicio metodologico para posteriores estudios. Se concluye que los casos tipicos, atipicos, de contraste tipico-atipico y de maxima variacion pueden afinar el conocimiento sobre los mecanismos y condiciones que posibilitan las alianzas electorales EnglishThis article is based on the methodological tensions recorded in the recent literature on pre-electoral coalitions between quantitative studies and the empirical records of elections where theoretical expectations are not met. In order to find the reasons for this anomaly, it is proposed to identify the factors that inhibit the effect of independent variables –the so-called causal mechanisms, based on case studies. In this sense, the article exposes the methodological turn in this regard, after reviewing the limitations of quantitative studies and the need to complement them from a qualitative approach. Through an example of intentional selection of observations, the richness of the methodological exercise for subsequent studies is visualized. It is concluded that the typical, atypical, typical-atypical contrast and maximum variation cases can refine the knowledge about the mechanisms and conditions that enable pre-electoral coalitions

Una obra muy poco conocida de Simone de Beauvoir es el último ensayo que escribió, titulado La vejez, que fue publicado en 1970, cuando ella tenía sesenta y dos años y estaba aún a dieciséis de morir, en 1986. Se trata de un amplio texto de más de setecientas páginas tras el cual se dedicó a escribir novelas y editar sus diarios. Su libro más famoso, El segundo sexo, ha capturado la atención sobre su obra desde el momento de su publicación, en 1949, y les ha restado importancia a sus trabajos posteriores que, a mi juicio, son igual de relevantes que aquel. La vejez se organiza en dos grandes secciones.

espanolEste articulo presenta los resultados de una investigacion cuyo objetivo fue analizar el fenomeno del techo de cristal (TC) en el sector publico chileno, a partir de la representacion de mujeres en los nombramientos de los concursos de alta direccion publica desarrollados entre 2010 y 2017. Se utilizaron procedimientos de estadistica descriptiva para examinar una base de datos cuantitativos obtenidos del Servicio Civil en Chile. Se observa que solamente el 29% de los concursos realizados fueron adjudicados a mujeres. Se concluye que existe una importante segregacion vertical en los nombramientos de los concursos de primer y segundo nivel jerarquico de la administracion del Estado en Chile, lo que permite inferir la existencia de una desigualdad de genero que configura el TC en dicho sistema EnglishThis article presents the results of a research which objective is to analyze the phenomenon of the glass ceiling in the Chilean public sector, from the representation of women in the appointments of the Senior Public Management competitions developed between 2010 and 2017. Descriptive statistics procedures were used to examine a quantitative database obtained from the Civil Service in Chile, noting that only 29% of the contests were adjudicated to women, concluding that there is an important vertical segregation in the appointments of the first competitions and second hierarchical level of the state administration in Chile, which allows to infer the existence of gender inequality in said system that configures the glass ceiling
